When asked about the player, the Croatian said: “Lookman won’t be with us. It’s a truly unpleasant situation. After a meeting with him, I feel we need other things – spirit, fight, humility, work, guys who have to feel the shirt well. Our guys have to do that. I don’t want anything else.”

Speaking further, Juric clarified: “I want a different human level, a different sense of belonging. I have a good relationship with him, but I don’t have to ask him. Damn, we’re Atalanta, I don’t have to beg him. He needs strong, human values.”

I am unsure who is advising Lookman but he needs to move on from what happened in the summer. If anything it should serve as motivation for him to work harder.

He needs game time to even convince clubs in January to push harder for him. He looked rusty against SA and may be in worse shape if he doesn’t reintegrate into Atalanta before January.

My position doesn’t mean I am indifferent to his plight but it is time to move on. Those are strong comments from his coach and while I don’t think everything is true, it is what the world now sees.
January can't come fast enough for Lookman, this club just spoil what was supposed to be his truly big professional contract. Football can be brutal.

I don't even see the sense in trying to force a club to sell you.

You signed a contract. Finish it and move on. No club is obligated to sell you because you have suitors. If they don't want to, play out your contract and leave honorably.
Sometimes this strong head works in the favor of the players, and sometimes it doesn't, most clubs would rather cash in on a player that's made it abundantly clear they want out...just don't understand these Italian clubs and their weird ego trip that sees them have players depreciate on their books.

Lookman would leave either January or June 2026, and Atalanta would end up making less than they'd have made if they allowed him leave last transfer window.

Well, I have a different opinion about Lookman's situation and what the coach said up there. In my own opinion, I think the coach has made his mind from the very first time Lookman attempted to force his way out ( like most players in his position all over the world will do) ; that he (the coach) would never play Lookman ever again in his team.

The coach appears like a bitter person who is not willing to reconcile with Lookman. It doesn't matted if Lookman goes falls flat on his face to apologize for his "mistake" or even if he arrives at training before everyone else and leaves after every other person to show how committed to the club's project. The coach just seem like he's made his decision about him and that is the final.

The funny thing is Lookman has not done anything other top and even mid level players have not done across Europe...... but somehow Atlanta just want to make it seem like he has done the unthinkable.

Just few weeks ago Isak was at loggerheads with his employers ( Newcastle) exchanging words with them via Social media and pages of newspaper. He literally downed tools and refused to play for them, somehow they found a way to make around 130 million out of their spat with him and he got the big move he deserved.

Methinks any serious big team that needs Lookman will treat the words of this coach and Atlanta management as that of a bitter ex-employer and just focus on getting the talent and hardwork Lookman embodies.

I think African players and Nigerian players in particular should be wary of contracts they sign with Italian clubs going forward Sha.

Former Southampton CEO has admitted he considers Saints' handling of Virgil van Dijk's 2018 move to Liverpool as "embarrassing" 😳

🗣️ "We kept him until January. It wasn’t good for the squad or the environment, but to be clear, Virgil never said one negative word to anybody
All these emotional statements players make is very funny. This was Southampton CEO saying that despite them keeping VVD against his wish to will, he never said anything negative.

You signed a contract. If the club decides not to let you go, wait it out. No need to make it look like they are keeping you against your will.

No it is not offside.

Offside only applies if u receive a pass inside the opponent's half and by the time u receive the ball u have less than 2 opposing players behind the ball.

In this case, Halland received the pass in Man city's half and all that offside trap those Mumu Man Utd defender thought they were setting up was null and void.

That is why some strikers always watch the midfield line when they calling for a long pass and they notice the opposing team's defenders have gone to join attack or contest for a corner kick. The midfield line is very important in offside rule

Is this not match fixing in broad daylight in the Turkish league?

On what premise is this goal disallowed? Even with the use of VAR 😲😲😲😲

Sometimes I can't but wonder what is wrong with Man Utd players exactly? Is it the water they drink or the food they eat in training/camp or there's something else that just makes them poor like that in recent times.

I mean those guys are senior players; superstars who played their way thousands of hours into getting signed by a big club like Man Utd and then they suddenly go poor to the extent of making such amateurish mistake. Even players playing as defenders at the Youth level are taught to always be aware of their environment/position when they are trying to set up offside trap. How's it that all 3 of them are not aware of how far away they are from the halfway line before setting camp there to set offside trap?

At least one person supposed dey very close to the line to be able to quickly shift body to set up an offside trap for Halland. E just be like say all of them sleep put head in the same direction.

Very interesting and Funny story but long. Maybe blueraydick who likes to read long story. It would have been a blockbuster comedy series if it wasnt true

Looks like Jeremiah Useni purchased a house in the UK with a fake name and fake identity Tali Shani.

Now Jerry is dead, Tali Shani is "dead" and now the lawyer Mike Ozekhome is seeking to convert the property to his own

A cousin to Tali Shani named Marcel Obasi showed up to state under oath that He knew about the property and his cousin affair with Jerry Useni, he presented medical reports, a Nigerian national identity slip, a mobile phone bill, a death certificate, and even an obituary notice.
when asked if he ever had any picture with the late Tali Shani he explained that he was “not a photogenic person” and that he “never found it necessary” to take such pictures

When asked about the funeral and the photographer, Tali Shanis son named Ayodele Damola showed up and claimed that the photographer was killed by bandits 2 days after burial

Summary. Most likely Ozekhomes claim will fail and the property will be auctioned to a lucky Briton. Not even Usenis biological children will be able to claim the property

I read the full story already.

Mike Ozekhome na Dagbo man, he was obviously working for Useni all those times Nigerians were fighting the military Juntas of IBB and Abacha which Useni was a very big part of and beneficiary of. Later they will claim they fought for democracy with their blood. grin

He obviously helped Useni do a whole lot of legal abracadabra and maybe helped him beat the law in stashing away what he stole from this country. (who knows). From the look of things, Mike Ozekhome wanted that London house as his settlement for all the clandestine services he has rendered to Jerry Boy, hence that lawsuit he instituted in a bid to transfer the property title to himself.

It's a shame that they had to go through all those lengths of forgery and providing fake Son and fake cousin for the so called Ms Thani.

Normally Nigerian government supposed investigate this thing and try to prosecute at least the Nigerians behind the fake NIN and fake death certificate they presented to the UK court in a made to swindle the UK justice system.

It is unfortunate that the outcome of this case will give UK authorities more reason to never trust any official document that ever comes out of Nigeria on face value. They will subject such documents to through scrutiny.

@Raumdeuter I have a feeling that Useni's biological children may be able to claim the property.

If Useni has a will and in that will he lists that particular property as his own and also stated the fact that he bought under an Alias, then maybe they may have a chance to claim the property.

But I sincerely hope Nigerian government through the office of attorney general can make moves to see if they can claim the house by providing evidence to the UK court that the house was purchased with funds stolen from Nigeria as a country.

Claiming their father bought the house under an Alias, but you still need to prove it. How do you prove Useni is Shani alias. Has he ever claimed to be Shani openly in other situations

How will they prove it? With the level of falsehood done, Are you sure with the fake documents they prepared that they didn't open a Naija bank account for Tali Shani and the money was transferred to UK through that means

Useni obviously didnt want to be connected to this property while in govt but he didnt think it through totally. Cos when Useni was aliv according to the story, he tried to claim the property back

Useni was eventually called to testify as a witness.

The retired general, who died in January 2025, gave video testimony in June 2024, confirming that he — not anyone called Tali Shani — bought the property in 1993.

“I owned it… I bought the property… before I gave it to someone to run… I paid the deposit… then bit by bit…. I bought it… it is my property,” he told the court.

The tribunal noted that Useni’s evidence was consistent with documents showing the 1993 purchaser as “Philips Bincan”, another alias.

The tribunal concluded that the London property was purchased by Useni, who was also a minister of transport under President Ibrahim Babangida, and not the man claiming to be “Mr Tali Shani”.

Although, the property was registered under the name “Tali Shani”, the tribunal held that evidence from a Jersey court case showed that Useni had a practice of using false or “coded” names, such as “Tim Shani,” for bank accounts and companies.

The court held that the similarity of names and timing strongly supported the finding that Useni deliberately used the false name “Tali Shani” to register the property.

If the court can confirm he has been consistent with using alias and false names to buy properties and opening bank accounts on differnt countries , then it means the court actually believes he did owned the property as per the documents he presented to the court.

What may be the challenge of the kids is how they will prove the source of funds with which their father bought the property is not the proceeds of crime .

That's why I think Naija government should not sleep on it, the moment the kids file such claim Naija government lawyers should show up and make petition the court to have the court transfer the property to Naija government. They should show evidences of the man's crime and get the property from the kids.
