A Professor of Employment Relations and Human Resource Management, Prof Chris Obisi, has decried the lack of funding for research in the nation’s higher institutions, calling on corporate organisations to assist.

Because they seek brand awareness not innovation

Nigeria was designed to keep people docile by your primal leaders. Know the game and break free from the illusion. Too dangerous to wake up in Nigeria. Evil is so entrenched. Evil pervades every fabric of it's society. Every institutions of government is weaponized against you. Even your religion and tribe is hacked against you.

Nigeria is typical definition of container economics. Nothing concern us with research, very few manufacturers. Most Nigerians deal on buying and selling 🤷🏿

And who told you Nigerian companies don’t fund research?

They do but only research that benefits their line of business. Even something like BBN was research driven before they put money into brand awareness. They looked at the data first before investing.

Do you really think companies just throw money around anywhere? No. Companies everywhere invest in research that gives them an advantage and keeps them ahead of competitors.

Nothing new here. Nigeria is not a serious country.

A country that felicitate with outsiders when there is a tragedy and ignores it's own.

A country that abandons it's hero's and rewards sports people with millions.

A country where runs girls make more money than hard working people.

A country where the president takes treatment abroad while neglecting our hospitals.

Prof Chris Obisi Needs to know that Nigerians need to be kept busy with entertainment.

Research does not distract people’s attention and that will keep making them discuss about the administration of His Excellency, President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR)

Personally, I believe the show should be aired every quarter of the year. That will give room for the government to concentrate on development.

BBN organisers understand that branding is good, and they know how to use modern innovative ideas to convince sponsors. However, they call themselves experts in classrooms but cannot convince potential sponsors. They don't even see themselves as entrepreneurs, but only want to bully government and everyone. If they can make others support them, not me. Let them use tools BBN managers use to convince sponsors. That's what their counterparts in other nations do.

It still boils down to the Consumerism culture of the average black man.
They derive pleasure in consumption than production.
To them your research is tasking and finance consuming but bbnaija satisfy their mundane rotten senses and obscenity. So why will they invest in something that will be productive?

So?!!

They actively invested (not funded) into what gave them massive returns.

Their returns on investment into BBNAIJA could only have happened because most Nigerians especially youths are mentally controlled and lust-filled degenerates who would rather watch tv shows, gossip endlessly on social media, and chase frivolities than focus on academically oriented ventures.


How else do you explain that Dstv has made Billions of Dollars from BBNAIJA and EPL viewership in the last decade than any othe educational show?!!


There are no sentiments in business... You invest in and supply what's in demand.

Most Nigerians have a shockingly high demand for mind-numbing, trivial and senselessly mundane things.

.... it's like that because all of their general managers are all nincompoops only good at showing off senseless authorities, bullying the junior staffs and workers, putting round pegs into the square holes, diverting funds that were meant for something meaningful for their personal useless flamboyant lifestyle

This also amazes me, why will companies bring out money to sponsor porn (blue movies) but difficult to sponsor research?

It is a classic reflection of our society. In the last election, a candidate backed his ideas and plans with statistics, researched properly which was evidence in his responses. However, Nigerians decided to vote someone who boldly said "na statistics we go chop?"

In essence, the companies are all about the glamor and profits.

It's really difficult for people to understand. These guys just want to make money. If you want them to sponsor research, show them how it benefits them.

They are all waiting for govt to fund everything.
Business enterprise are usually the backbone of research and development.
