Apcshit:Companies can sponsor research. But they will typically only do it if it benefits their brand. And nothing wrong with liking BBN. Carry go. |

Why are people so obsessed with this big brother show? Can entertainment and research not coexist? A company that provides employment, pays taxes and create a ton of people who go ahead to succeed in other ventures, who in turn also hire people and pay taxes is what you want the government to ban. Fornication and adultery happen on campuses, NYSC, workplace, religious institutions etc how many of you are calling for a ban on these institutions? It is a reality TV show, it’s just reality being filmed on camera. If bbn stops airing in naija, you people will say Tinubu’s policy has pursued them. No difference between you complainers and hisba destroying beer in the North. |

What is this one talking about? Do you even understand the issue at stake Which research institutes do you have in Nigeria and which universities are actively into research. Try to understand what the issue at stake is first. motymop: |

/ Read the comments and one understands why Nigeria is the way it is and will remain so forever. It is amazing that people don't understand Research. They think it is market survey. ![]() Prof should know that Nigerians want immediate gratification. Give money to Nigerian scientists for research, the fund goes into buying luxurious SUVs. At the end, it will be "copy and paste" inference and analysis with no practical outcome. So companies give the Nigerian people what they cherish and deserve---entertain, distract and bilk them. Don't try to save those who don't want to be saved. / |

companies don't fund research because if they bring out money for research, few people will embezzle the funds and start telling stories, |

Chekwume16:Continue blabbing there. There are research institutes in Nigeria, stop being ignorant. Companies do provide grants, but they go to researchers linked to institutions or working under them, not to random individuals. No company on earth will give you money just to do personal research unless it’s in the form of a scholarship. Every grant they give is tied to their own benefit whether through product development, data, patents, or corporate image. Yes, there are rare cases where companies fund individuals directly but usually through scholarships, competitions, or innovation challenges. Even then, it’s never purely for the public..the company always gains something in return. |

You reap what you sow. These companies are not federal government. Tell your colleagues to do the needful when they are called up for national electoral duties ! Till then, Nigerian companies should be allowed to spend their money as they deem fit…Prof! |

Will research boost and advertise their company? They usually align with anything media to publicise their companies. It's universities that u should be talking about |

Moveittothem:Out of range. The day Nigeria makes attempt towards light again, Nigeria would have the attention of the entire galaxy for it is a given that any civilisation that has gone too deep into darkness then staging a comeback towards light draws the attention of the universe. Nzeogwu once tried. It was downhill when that brave warrior foresaw the dangerous trajectory and attempted to save it but failed. Perhaps Nigeria will get another window with Peter Obi the philosopher. |

Chubhie:lol. I get you but that’s savagery, you have to ascend into transcendental consciousness and that’s what Jesus energy offers, to be meek even when rage or wrath is justified, it’s not easy that’s why only a few does it, most churches in Nigeria are performative in that they don’t practice what they preach calling the name of Jesus as their Lord and savior but do less of what he says, stay away from such type of churches. |

BlessedGift:I used to worry about these trends, but I later realized it’s not the fault of the companies, it’s a reflection of our society’s moral decline and the drive for profit. Today, academic excellence or innovation barely gets attention, while immoral content racks up millions of views/attentions. Naturally, companies follow where the money flows, investing in what yields the highest returns. SAD!! |

Most Nigerian companies don't manufacture anything, they just import goods and sell or the ones that do are do are manufacturing consumer goods like soap, detergents etc, so no need for research. |
