There is 5 good years between 2020 and 2025! In that period a lot might have happened. Btw, you people should stop being unnecessarily petty, Tinubu advised Buhari to do something doesn’t mean he forced the president to do it. Tinubu was against fuel subsidy removal during Jonathan era but now he removed it. A lot of things can happen in Nigeria within just a year. |

Bar1941:which Tinubu supported all the way to the end, and even promised to continue from where Buhari stopped. Isn't that what happened? |

SmartPolician:Tinubu did NOT play a major role in destroying our economy. He played a CRITICAL role in the collapse and destruction of our economy. How else would you describe making his 2011 expired looter into APC change messiah four years later, only to show us shege pepper extreme poverty? anonimi:Flashback: How Bola Tinubu spoke highly of Buhari in 2015, named PDP ‘Poverty Development Party National leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Bola Tinubu had during the presidential campaign in 2015, referred to President Muhammadu Buhari as the only solution for the security and economic challenges facing Nigeria. During a mega presidential rally, the former governor of Lagos State recalled how some powerful nations in the world returned to army generals when they were challenged, saying “Major General Buhari would revive Nigeria’s economy”. He named the current opposition People’s Democratic Party, PDP as the “Poverty Development Party saying they had nothing to offer. His words at the time were; “Every nation has a period of their own challenges, when America was challenged, they turned to one great man, their ex-military general, General Eisenhower. When the French were challenged, they turned to their general, Charles de Gaulle. “When Britain was challenged, they turned to their general. Today, Nigeria is economically and physically challenged so we turn to General Muhammadu Buhari. He is the right man for the job. If you talk about military experience, he has it abundantly, he has courage, simplicity, he has it abundantly. “If you talk about great determination, a combination of vision and ability to perform, honesty and integrity, he has it abundantly. “I laugh when the incapable government, ‘Poverty Development Party’ PDP were talking. They have nothing again to say, they now want to question the qualifications of General Buhari and look for his certificate”. Following the manifestos in 2015 which projected the APC presidential candidate as a ‘saviour’, Buhari defeated the then incumbent president, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan with Nigerians expecting a total change in security and economy. https://dailypost.ng/2021/09/01/flashback-how-bola-tinubu-spoke-highly-of-buhari-in-2015-named-pdp-poverty-development-party/ |

Bar1941:Do you know what "ways and means" borrowing means? It means Buhari borrowed N22.7 trillion naira from the CBN (that is, the CBN printed money and lent to FG). In naija street grammar, it means "CBN borrowed FG 22.7 trillion naira". |

Truly I wonder how people's brain work and how they reason. If truly Tinubu advised the president then to print more naira did he tell hime to print it the way he did?. Did he also tell him to print without doing basic planning. Even a child knows what color code is. How can a a while central bank print money of different value yet similar color...... |

givedemwotowoto:Kai see dishonesty and shamelessness. Dogara stated Buhari printed 22 trillion Naira that damaged the Nigerian economy horrendously. You rush ignorantly to attach Tinubu to what you assume will be a 'bullseye' hit against PBAT you can serve up for your fanatical and illiterate enemies-of-progress army here who lack the capacity to read or research. Lo and behold, in haste, you did not realize the recommendation of Tinubu was valid and made during COVID 19 when nations were indeed deploying the strategy in effort to facilitate human and economic survival. Shown your ignorance, rather than retrace steps, you double down in shameless and distractive change of your own topic to now make issues about Tinubu destroyed Nigeria's Presidency under Buhari. You are shameless. Aside disgracing yourself not acknowledging you erred and owe PBAT an apology, you show you are an incorrigible hater with the claim above in bold because we were all alive then to note Tinubu was not someone Buhari included in his Government let alone took advice from. [b] In fact Tinubu was totally ostracized from the Buhari Presidency literally from day one. We all saw this live and in HD despite the desperate lies you all wish to spread now seeking to link Tinubu with the failure of Buhari[ and his cabal./b] Buhari, as informed Nigerians know, throughout his Presidency, operated and made decisions with an inner and-all powerful cabal consisting of Abba Kyari, Mamman Daura, Issa Pantami, Malami, Ismaila Isa Funtua, Hameed Ali, Babagana Kingibe, Abdulrahman Dambazau, Lawal Daura etal. They had their Southern boy boy and hatchet man Emefiele always available to use CNN as their unlimited ATM The sad thing is that you people, because of all the malevolent thoughts and emotions driving your behaviour, you will always be amenable to be used by the real enemies of Nigeria Obi is now visiting up and down to prostrate before. |

I'm amused at the way you're struggling so hard to defend the indefensible ![]() Have you forgotten in a hurry that while Buhari was borrowing N22.7 trillion, Tinubu fully supported him all the way to the end, and even promised to continue from where Buhari stopped? Only to "suddenly realize" Buhari destroyed the economy after Buhari handed over to him? Disprove that. WizardOfNG: |

givedemwotowoto:Lol... He advised to print more money during the pandemic, they never did till when it was almost time for next election years after covid. Pay attention to the timing. The advise he gave was valid for the covid period because that was the period that encountered the challenges he was advising for. If they decided to print more money way after those conditions are no longer valid, do you still blame him for that? We also all know the money printed around the election was purely political and not for economic reasons. Let me give you an illustration. You were feeling hot in summer and I advised you to take a swim in the pool to feel cooler. You ignored my advise and after some time when it was winter, you decided to take a swim in a partially frozen pool and ended up with hypothermia. Am I still to be blamed for your actions? |

Genius101:Bro, you have any formal educational at all? It was only a n economic policy to be deployed because of COVID 19 and not beyond it all the way to literally before Buhari handing over in 2023. Where do you think Emwfiele got money to be build Abuja Estate of more than 700 duplexa and much more with Tunde Sabiu, Buhari's nephew, reputed to be a recharge card seller, becoming a multi-billionaire overnight? Is it not obvious Tinubu's recommendation was an emergency policy designed to immediately arrest serious risk to human lives and economic existence of nations, courtesy of a global disease epidemic, that should be removed , to allow human productivity begin growing economies again, once lock down is lifted and people go back to productive work and society can function normally? Once lock down was over, a vaccine found and economies (i.e public/private sector) opened up again for normal activities why should the policy of printing money, appropriately and validly deployed in a period of emergency and as shown in the image below, be continued? Do you need to be told the above when you are not a six years old who has the valid excuse of lacking formal education? I really pity some of you with how you cannot see what you have allowed to compromise the core goodness a human being should have and be about. Your own is to just give a dog a bad name to hang it and you don't even know why you are doing so and how being that way is repellent.

erad:Buhari took his advise, printed more money, Tinubu continued supporting him all the way to the end, even promising voters to continue from where Buhari stopped. Did you miss that part? When did Tinubu come out and tell us that Buhari has borrowed too much and should stop? Why support him all the way to the end, then suddenly realize he destroyed the economy with borrowing after he handed over to you? To your last example, the correct illustration is: Your friend who is your senior at work is feeling hot in summer and you advise them to take a swim in the pool. He took a swim in the pool. He continued doing so till the winter but you said nothing, you continued supporting him, and even told people that you'll continue from where he stopped, only for him to get sick from hypothermia, you inherit his job, then start talking trash about him |

WizardOfNG:Ohhhh. [b]You commented. Hmmmm. I read through all the comments above and few people made sense, from a macroeconomics perspective. I advised someone to buy foofoo when he was hungry. Obviously, it was context-based, "hungry". Will I be blamed if the person keeps buying foofoo because he has become addicted to it? I advised you to change your admin staff and you did but you didn't take my other advice to rearrange your marketing team, which together would bring the desired profits you asked me for, how can it be my fault, as a consultant? How? Why are people blaming Bola for giving advice in one specific department, when we know an organization (company, church, NGO, government etc) has many moving parts (departments), which must ALL be adjusted to a new normal for each adjustment in any part (department)? Is it that difficult to understand? Sometimes, I really feel I should stop coming to this platform. But then, most of the comments here are brilliant when tribalism, politics or hatred are not coloring it. |
