People are definitely busy or do not come online often. Moreso, not every one works in the healthcare sector or know how to interpret medical reports na.
The HSG report you shared above says bilateral tubal blockage, in summary. This, in layman's term, means the two fallopian tubes are blocked.

Doctor in the house. Please interpret this test results for me and possible solutions. Thanks
Both tubes are blocked.

How do you know it is implantation bleeding ?

Have you done a scan to rule out fibroid.

Go for a transvaginal scan and report back with the result.

Good afternoon everyone, I just discovered this page after having a miscarriage 😭. I noticed I have this aggressive worm in my stomach once I’m pregnant it starts moving . I know medically there’s nothing like that. Please does anyone have an explanation for this and what can I take to prepare myself for the next one and when can I start trying again. Please all your suggestions and opinions are welcomed and appreciated. Thank you

This is to encourage everyone going through fertility issue because the thread has been very helpful. God will come through for you.

I’d like to share my contribution based on real-life experience.

Three months into their marriage, a couple discovered they couldn’t achieve pregnancy. After undergoing all the necessary tests, the diagnosis came back as bilateral blocked fallopian tubes. Their gynaecologist was direct: “You can only have a child through IVF.”

Just like you came here to vent, the couple became regular visitors to the “Trying to Conceive” (TTC) thread on Nairaland, seeking advice and encouragement. They picked up different suggestions from other people’s experiences and decided to try some of them.

First attempt:
They used serrapeptase, two types of Chinese tea (names forgotten), and combined it with castor oil massages for three months. Unfortunately, nothing happened.

Next step:
They decided to follow the doctor’s recommendation for IVF. A hysteroscopy was done, followed by the IVF procedure. Pregnancy was achieved — but sadly, it ended in a blighted ovum.

Back on the TTC thread, they began researching how to improve their chances for a second IVF attempt. They learned about certain supplements that might help and the wife started taking:

Qunol

Ovaboost

Vitamin C

Vitamin D

Vitamin E

Omega 3-6-9

After three months on these supplements, she did a hormonal assay in preparation for the second IVF. All hormones were within normal range — except prolactin, which was high. A medication to reduce prolactin was added, and she continued the supplements for a fourth month.

During this time, their family doctor also advised the wife to lose weight. While taking the supplements, she engaged in activities to support weight loss.

At the end of those four months, something unexpected happened — she found out she was pregnant naturally. How it happened, no one could explain. No test was done to check if her tubes had reopened.

The takeaway?

Learn from others’ experiences.

Stay active on TTC platforms for valuable information.

Remember that fertility challenges can be financially and emotionally draining — from tests, to medications, to supplements.

Through it all, you must stay strong.

All glory to almighty God.

I'm one month post-myomectomy. What are the preventive measures to take in order for it not to regrow, and how do I prepare myself to conceive after 3 months?
Thanks!

They say HSG is just a ‘simple test’… but my second one almost broke me

My HSG experience a few weeks ago left me pondering the future of public health care services in Naija.

God forbid that I be a victim of a failed system

I’ve had 3 HSG procedures so far. 2 successful and 1 unsuccessful

For those who don’t know, an HSG (hysterosalpingography) is an X-ray test where dye is passed into the womb and fallopian tubes to check if they are open and healthy.

I am moved to share because someone can learn from my story.

Although people react differently to pain—what is bearable for some may be unbearable for others
But this my 2nd experience was pure trauma.

The first time was bearable. The radiologist was calm, confident, and gentle. The discomfort was bearable, and I left thinking, “Okay, that wasn’t so bad.” I even conceived that very month.

The second time… Omo! Very traumatic. I arrived early, wanting to be among the first, I nor know say Oba dey front dey wait

The moment I saw the radiographer, my instincts told me to be alert. He looked so young, wasn’t really communicating but I didn’t want to judge a book by its cover.

I asked more questions before signing the consent form because I nor fit go school far like this only to entrust my life in a young Dr's hands whose body language is giving -ve

....

Fast forward to the procedure.

Everything was ready. I took deep breaths and remained calm

The next thing I felt was sharp waves of pain that shoot through me

I screamed!
Like my insides were being tugged and twisted.

My body that was relaxed immediately became stiff, my body started shivering
I grabbed one of the students watching to learn and held him tightly.

The other students were watching and asking questions.

I almost screamed the roof down. No exaggerations
"I'm no longer interested Dr!"

"Please let down the instruments so I can come down"

I insisted and kept screaming

Meanwhile he was on a call with another Dr with one hand, I guess a senior consultant explaining that he is having difficulty cunnulating the cervix and that the place is somehow blocked by adhesions

Me ke? Lab rat today for students to learn? oh no God help me

I was at their mercy because procedures like HSG is not something you can just jump down from the bed and run

He kept struggling to fix the instruments while I kept screaming he should stop
At a point a nurse present even asked why he was injecting the dye when the instrument hadn't properly gone in.

After much plea

He admitted he couldn't do it then removed the instruments.
He explained that I need to quickly get to the emergency gynea unit so that the Dr's there can help with the cannulation then I come back to meet him to inject the dye.

Me?
Go where Oga?
God forbid!!!

I Sha collected the emergency letter, wore my clothes and limped out of the facility without looking back

Truth is, my first experience was very bearable, I braced myself for the worst, but the radiologist was calm, confident, and gentle.

The discomfort was there, of course, but it was controlled. I left the room thinking, “Okay, that wasn’t so bad after all.” I conceived that very month.
It was bearable

I called the same private diagnostic center that was recommended to me 10 years ago to confirm if the Prof. that carried out the procedure on me the first time was still actively working.

He was so I got booked for another day since I was already traumatized and in pains.

That was how I got myself into the procedure room for the third time, I went in calm, trusting God and my first experience but a part of me was still dreading a repeat of that second experience.

This time, the radiologist’s expertise made all the difference. The Prof took time to re explain every step as he progressed.

Every movement was steady. Yes, there was pain, but it was bearable.

According to him "This is positive pain" because he was able to carefully break through the cervical/uterine adhesions that were obstructing the Dr earlier.

I could breathe through it, as he was careful and kept communicating with me to speak whenever I felt unbearable pain.

What I’ve learned?

This same procedure can feel like mild discomfort for some and like a nightmare for others

However, so much depends on who is handling it and how our bodies react.

Ask questions and seek recommendation of experienced radiographers. Then trust your instincts.

I’m sharing this because many women go through these tests silently. If you’ve ever had an HSG, you’ll understand how different each experience can be depending on the hands you find yourself in.

Sending strength to anyone preparing for or recovering from one

Hello Everyone, It’s been a while, I can’t even remember the login to my last account but I know I made this one when i was trying ivf in Asaba. If anyone looks this one up they’d see that I did the ivf in 2022/23 and it failed. If someone would have told me that by this time in 2025 I would have 2 amazing boys, I wouldn’t even believe it. After everything failed, I took my mind off TTC and God blessed me. I’m even crying as I type this cause even till now I can’t believe how everything turned around after almost 5 years of trying everything.
I just want to encourage someone here tonight to keep trusting the lord, he will hear you. Please pray without ceasing and change your diet. Eat more of vegetables and fruits and ease of carbs, if you’re overweight, join a gym, get active and pray.
I can’t even say one specific thing I did differently but God perfects everything in his own time.

i went to abims fertility and the place was a little too crowded for my liking, i guess because of their online publicity on instagram and tiktok..
is this how other fertility clinics are? are there other fertility clinics with less crown?
is the crowd as a result of their pricing?

***long post alert***
Hello Mamas in the House. Today makes it 5weeks I had my Laparoscopy surgery at OAUTH to remove Ovarian Cyst. The cyst was discovered in Feb 2016 when I had an Ultrasound scan before taking Clomid. Since then, I've had my period but some pain and some digestive disturbances. After taking different remedies, I made up my mind to have a surgery(first in my life) this year after another ultrasound showed another cyst on the left ovary(although after the surgery the Dr told me it was just one on my right ovary but it was big and joined to the left ovary) and I was just tired as I was not ovulating and can't be stimulated. I decided to have a Lap because I couldn't get a month off work;I just got a new job, and I did not want to be cut open . I checked at Lasuth but was told they don't perform Lap surgery only diagnostic. Private hospital was not an option because of the cut throat prices. I started my investigation and came across Oauth website, got the contact(on the website) and went for consultation and afterwards the surgery. I thank God for how everything worked out. I was favoured and helped by God. Left the hospital by noon the next day back to Lagos( my Husband drove). Rrecovery was gradual and not too painful. A 43 yr old woman also had a myomectomy that same day and was already sitting before I left. .consultation holds on Mondays in Ife Oauth and on Thursdays at Wesley hospital in Ilesha, but the surgery holds in Ife Oauth. Total cost of the surgery I would say just budget like 100k(you probably won't spend more than 80k, but just factor in extra cost).
The only downside is the stress of govt hospital if you are used to private hospital, you might find this stressful and sometimes annoying....you just have to be patient.....very patient E.g payment of bills and dropping lab samples. The Drs were very professional and they seem very competent to me.....infact some of the complain some oyinbo pple complained of on the internet, I just had a short episode of those complaints . My incisions have healed and closed and On the way to full recovery. I thank God for a smooth, successful surgery and of course safe journey to Ife and back to Lagos. Pls if you need anymore info.. you can contact me. BFP is next in Jesus name.
http://oauthc.com/LaparoscopyGynae.aspx
Good day everyone. Pls I need the contact of someone working at OAUTH. I want to make enquiry about laparoscopy surgery at the hospital. I would have visited the hospital but because of distance I won't be able to go. Pls I need someone to help me out

Hey mommas. How y'all doing?

So I'm bracing to TTC again.
I took my thoughts off it when hormonal profile result came out with low ovarian reserve.
I just focused on my mental health, taking the supplements my gyno recommended and getting engaged in other productive routines

HSG came out both tubes clear and hubby's SFA is healthy too so it's basically supporting my follicles to produce eggs. I've been placed on clomid this cycle.
Trusting God to do what he alone does best.

I wish us all positive results soon
