My current total credit units earned is 149. It's showing outstanding credit as -19. I don't know it's importance and understand how they got it because it doesn't match with the 12 outstanding credits from the 3 outstanding courses units (3+2+1) & project (6 units).

I called someone in my faculty to ask about the electives, he said minimum required elective units to graduate is 21 units and above that I should calculate total of all my electives unit and if it's less than 21 that I should add to it.

I calculated it and it's 12. In fact one of those elective like CIT484 AI is now C and 2 of the E I did in 200L are currently compulsory. I also noticed I didn't do any electives in 300L & only 1 in 400L 1st semester according to my statement of results.

So I'm just thinking of taking one elective per semester from those 6 electives list as that's what I heard is the general rule about electives to be on the safer side.
-19 outstanding credits means you have 19 credits units above the minimum required. It means, u don't need extra electives. Just focus on all your Core courses if you have any left.

Hello house, my younger bro is trying to apply for admission with NOUN; however, he has a D7 in maths, all other subjects are B's and C's. What are the chances of getting admitted? He is reluctant to write WAEC again as the guy don advance for age, e say him head no fit carry secondary school books again grin grin

I know the requirements are at least a C in maths and English; however, he wants to study broadcast/film abi na how him tell me sef, which I am not sure if maths will be a big deal. He said he will proceed to apply with the results that way, hoping he gets admitted. Please, what are his chances? Or must he sit for another WAEC?

cc @Enskynelson and anyone who has an idea.

I'm legit tired of this sch at this point. Applied for PhD admission since July. When I log in to the applicant login page, I get "The link to your admision letter is yet to be enabled. You are yet to be screened".

Been getting this same message for 2 months now. I've called all the numbers I've found online. They all ring but no one picks. Sent emails and reminders. No response whatsoever.

I don tire

Please how long does it take for NOUN to respond and forward one's transcript? I have applied since last week but what it's showing is that they are trying to verify payment.

Zero chance because everything is automated. Once the Maths is below C, admission is declined. Sorry 😔

Make sure you have uploaded all required documents. Payment evidence for the school u are applying will make it faster
If it's UG transcripts, let's talk about it

Good evening, pls when is the next admission for M.sc programme or is it that i can apply anytime?
Re: National Open University Of Nigeria (NOUN) Students by DivergentSony: 3:35pm On Sep 20, 2025
Pls does NOUN use remaining balance in portal for final year clearance payments or it's refund I'll apply for?

And does the refund or using portal balance for clearance fees after 400L for actually work? I'm reading reports that NOUN introduced it 2-3 years ago but I don't know if it's actually effective.

I have N2,500 left after reg this semester, I don't know if I'll get a refund or be able to use it to balance up graduation clearance fees.
Or I should just use it to register one course, maybe the DES303.

Nope, down till last convocation, the wallet balance was not acceptable for final clearance.
Wallet balance however can be refunded although under stringent requirements which include presenting all your tellers for wallet funding from beginning to the end. You are required to write to the Bursary through your student centre director attaching all the evidences.

You can apply anytime just that this semester has gone far. It depends on your readiness.

Before you proceed,
Go to https://nounupdate.com/fee-check
Check the courses listed for your program and put eyes on the MTH courses. You can go further by downloading the course materials to see the content from nou.edu.ng
Lastly, you can check past questions for the maths courses and see if you are fine.
All the best

If you are fine, you can go ahead and apply.[/quote]Please can you help me to enroll for admission. Here is my WhatsApp number +2349025894179.

Good evening everyone.
Please, I just registered for my exams this week which means I am just having access to the E-learning portal, but it seems I have a lot of grounds to cover in terms of the courses, discussion forums, live classes and so on.
I feel overwhelmed, given the limited time I have left to do all these and write all the TMAs before the portal for it gets close.

Is there any suggestions on how best to go about it?

Or is deferring the semester an option?

I am far behind and NOUN is already in week 6.
How do I go about this?
Any better suggestions will be welcomed.
Re: National Open University Of Nigeria (NOUN) Students by Jecci(f): 1:37pm On Sep 22, 2025
I enrolled late like you last semester, It wasn't easy at all but I still managed to get through it. Start studying now, for me since you don't have much time ditch the live classes and start going through your PDF course materials.

Study using your course materials and allocate significant amount of time to cover each course. Each course you cover, you enter and write your TMA. Then look for the course past questions and summaries, it helps too

Good morning sir. Thanks for the response. Please can I still apply next month? And you saying the semester has gone far, would it in anyway affect me, talking about the semester assessments and all, or you meant the time to prepare for exam?

If you apply late it implies that you either wait till next semester to start your registration or you register and have just few weeks to start exams.
