A signing out celebration of students of Auchi Polytechnic, Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State, has reportedly turned tragic with two persons feared killed.

The incident occurred on Tuesday, following the successful completion of the last examination paper of a suspected cult leader in the school.

It was gathered that a party was held at a popular hotel, where a rival confraternity group, was also said to be celebrating the signing out of some members.

‎Both cult groups, Movement and Eiye, were said to have fired gunshots into the air as they exchanged banters.
‎
The celebration mood however took a twist after shots fired into the air hit and damaged a rival member ML Mercedes Benz SUV.
‎
‎A witness who simply identified himself as Omorowa said: “The colleagues of the member whose car was hit by bullet, became enraged alleging that the shot was targeted at them.
‎
‎”Though the other group claimed no one was in the said car, but the development led to confrontation between Eiye and the movement, otherwise known as Aye.”
‎
‎It was gathered that as the disagreement boiled over, a colleague of the member whose car was damaged, used a car to run over a member of the rival group, leading to the death one persons.

Sources ources also confirmed that another person was also shot dead in the ensuing chaos.

‎The State Police Command Spokesman, CSP Moses Yamu, who confirmed the incident, however said only one person was killed.

Instead of these children to form groups to support each other in getting jobs, spouses and contract links, they form groups to kill one another because they are rivals.

If these cult groups are serious, they should publish the percentage of their members who have first class, have tier 1 jobs and hold leadership positions nationally and internationally.

We must also criminalize bearing arms without licensing. Flying colours must be banned.

Something drastic needs to happen to change the trajectory.

What are our youth becoming? In 2025, as times grow increasingly challenging, the future seems uncertain. Yet, tragically, some young people are resorting to violence against one another that’s leading to killing of each other all in the name of game. I agree with you.

In modern day psychology terms, it is called the "broken windows theory", which states that if small signs of disorder (like graffiti on the walls, broken windows, trash lying around) are ignored, people will move on to bigger and more daring vices.

This is the reason why the first thing developed nations do is to make the environment beautiful as it lowers crime because the psyche of the average residents become beautiful too. Weird, I know but it's just the way humans are wired.

Gathering of teenagers, mostly end in confrontation and possibly deaths, most especially if it involves boys and girls. At teens stage of life, they always believed, world is under their feet. Not until they reach 27, when they will start realising, life is far more complicated that what they think.
