Funny thing is if they implement the law like they are planning, it will be difficult for anybody to escape paying tax including yahoo boys and people who always claim they don't earn in naira grin

No one, I mean absolutely no one, is escaping the new tax law if you earn at least 67k monthly.

Disruptive!

Crazy!

Wow...Hamas just woke up one morning and decided to attack the innocent and spotless Israel
Fun fact: even before October 7, thousands of Palestinians are languishing in Israeli prisons. Even till date, thousands are still held captive.

“It is important to also recognize the attacks by Hamas did not happen in a vacuum,” Guterres said. “The Palestinian people have been subjected to 56 years of suffocating occupation. They have seen their land steadily devoured by settlements and plagued by violence; their economy stifled; their people displaced and their homes demolished. Their hopes for a political solution to their plight have been vanishing.”

Lebanon agreed to a ceasefire.
They do not have any Israeli prisoners.
Why is Israel still bombing and killing Lebanese every day?

Did Syria also take Israeli prisoners?
Why is Israel still bombing and killing Syrians to this day?

Who broke all the ceasefires after the Resistance released 200 prisoners?
Halt the attacks. Withdraw from Gaza. Release Palestinians in your dungeons. You will get back your prisoners.
That is the deal on the table. They've refused it.
The genocidal warts and their enablers think the rest of the planet are kids.
Na diz land wen dem 1 kolobi and ethnically cleanse its owners nai go choke dem.

Without their very obvious, sickening genocide, France, UK, Spain, Norway would not have recognized Palestine by this year.
We are building to the crescendo when the UNGA will vote to establish Palestine like it did Libya.

actually you can - banks do it all the time - your basic salary is small, your allowances are large. however, this is not quote the hack you may think it is because your severance pay is based on your taxable salary.

but WHY should anyone escape paying tax?
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by BlueRayDick: 8:03am On Sep 19, 2025
Those or us already paying PAYE will not feel the new tax law like that since we are already used to having our tax deducted from source.

As for those who were not in the tax bracket before that will be added newly, they will feel it and complain more.

The only concern I have is fear of multiple taxation. For example my salary is already taxed from source. Now if I decide to invest part of my salary In any of these investment funds and then months later the funds pay me my principal sum and yields on the investment, the tax man may want to tax that money the moment it hits my bank account. I feel that will be unfair Sha

but that is the way it is in the abroad. income tax is just one tax stream
we are going to have to start actual tax calculations and filings etc

So every money that enters my account must be taxed? Even if my sister sends me 200k from abuja to withdraw and give to my mumsy when I see her physically ; they will tax that 200k because it hit my account after alreadg removing postage stamp money?

Remember my sister's income has most likely been taxed from source before she sent the 200k o

I really need to know the role of the bank in helping FIRS get tax monitored from our bank accounts.

as long as transactions are electronic - they can be identified. i saw or read something about servers analyzing transactions

the fact of the matter is your bank already knows who or what you are based on your inflows and outflows

i have a gtb savings account i was using for PP inflows and the account is classified by the bank as third tier business or something like that

they have always known these things - but now Tinubu - the great tax collector is pushing for a wider tax net with no more dodging

in the US - inheritance is taxed. lottery winnings are taxed.

Israel doesn't care about ceasefire or bilateral agreement. They bombed Qatar, a US/Israeli ally. It is all part of the Greater Israel Project.
The continuous attacks on Damascus by Israel is what I don't really understand. Because Iran doesn't really have much foothold there. But then a land grabber is a land grabber.

The pressure pipe go soon burst, before October 7, person no fit believe say that the British government will be having this type of conversation.

I understand western countries taxing everybody and giving everybody a right to hold their public office holders accountable.

As for Nigeria, I can't say the same. Tinubu has removed subsidy for 2 years now we no see the dividend on our collective wellbeing. They are busy awarding phony contracts to their cronies; contracts that do not pass through normal due process.

Nobody will be elated to pay tax to a government in which some unscrupulous elements will be dictating with force whom we can vote for and whom we cannot.

It expected that everyone will try as much as they can not to pay tax to that kind of government. The government will need to go extra mile to earn the trust of the people if not, a whole lot of people will sit, and devise means to jump out of the tax net.

That's the issue.

A country in which Bayo Onanuga will insult anybody that dares to ask why Tinubu travels to France and UK every two months; forgetting he is junketing about with taxpayer's money. That is the country they want to force everybody to pay tax o.

A country in which u will be called names for trying to hold public office holders accountable; a country where security agencies will start hounding you for speaking truth to power like Mailafia did about Fulani herdsmen and DSS went after him

I am sure everyone is willing to pay tax if the system is working and going well, but we know the country we are in.
These guys will chop our money

Concerning the SA FIFA issue, I just read FIFA deducted 6 points from equitorial guinea for fielding insua for 2 matches.
SA is likely to get 3 points reduction

When I spoke about this some months ago some people were saying I'm an enemy of Nigeria. There's nothing wrong with paying tax, but you can't expect people to happily pay taxes when they don't get any benefits out of it. APC will never be accountable to Nigerians.

Politicians will tell you there's no money to fix road, or find a way to build a larger grid to achieve 24/7 electricity, but they'll go ahead to waste state funds to acquire properties, and lodge prostitutes all over the world.

What exactly does the average Nigerian benefit from the government? Nothing. Most Nigerians provide security, water and electricity for themselves.

That is an Israeli article from yesterday about the genocidal ingrates already moving their families to the Gaza border area to quickly establish settlements in Gaza after the ethnic cleansing.
Yet, one Ignorant, evil, olodo, genocide-enabler bozo is saying "wE wIlL tAlK aBoUt StAtUs lAtEr"

The world sees everything.
We see their actions that constitute genocide and ethnic cleansing.
We see their well-publicized massacres and state terrorism.

we have done the whole public/govt provision of utilities and it failed
