Haemorrhagic Fever In Abuja: NCDC Issues Public Alert by Nemere2020(op): 4:10pm On Sep 19, 2025
🚨 Public Health Advisory: Suspected Viral Haemorrhagic Fever in Abuja 🚨

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (NCDC) confirms that two recent suspected cases tested NEGATIVE for Ebola and Marburg. Further tests for other VHFs like Lassa and Dengue are ongoing.

Thanks to early reporting by a traveller and the swift action of vigilant health workers, the risk to the public was minimised.

🔹 If you feel unwell, especially after travel, seek medical care immediately.
🔹 Wash hands regularly & practise good hygiene.
🔹 Avoid contact with anyone showing unexplained fever, bleeding, vomiting, or diarrhoea.
🔹 Rely only on official NCDC updates. Say no to rumours.

Together, vigilance protects us all.

📞 Call 6232 for guidance or to report symptoms.
Follow @NCDCgov for verified updates.

Are they saying Ebola has entered Nigeria again?

It was managed better that time because there was a government with some form of seriousness, this one presently may just turn it to politics like they have done with insecurity.

Our government doesn't care. Look at the allegations against USAID funding terrorism that has crippled Nigeria, yet there was no action. A lot is going on without hindrance.

Why wasn't he screened at the airports? Such a person shouldn't have been able to cross borders in the first place.
