MrStarskie:The common man will have efficient delivery of petroleum products to his nearest petrol station. The marketers who have been the middleman in cooperation with the unions are no longer part of the equation. If you want to compete with Dangote, build your own refineries and logistics transport system. The common man can also go solar and buy an EV car |

nlfpmod:If marketers are compelled to use Dangote free delivery scheme, are they also compelled to buy from Dangote. You're fighting for what is not your right and over which you no power , and you want Dangote to surrender his interest and over which he has power to you? Does a company not have the to design its own sales distribution scheme? Are breweries and other consumer products manufacturers not doing it. All of us must know that all of these unions and associations are the real enemies of the nation and of course, the down stream beneficiary of the removed oil subsidy. Now , they have deservedly lost everything. Whoever is crying monopoly should himself go and raise money and start His own refinery. After all we're running a capitalist economy. |

MrStarskie:If you're yet to see it , something must be severely wrong with your sight. You need to see an ophthalmologist. |

free2ryhme:You've gotten a point. The middleman syndrome is a big problem in the country. It increases the costs of goods, services & sufferings of the common man. People should embarrass change. That's the only way the country can make meaningful progress. |

oyeb15:Did he stop others from doing business? We've other smaller refineries. The marketers can go & lift fuel there. We don't need fuel scarcity again in this country. |

IPDGP:Simple. If Dangote takes full control of the midtream and down stream sectors he will become powerful enough to dictate the price at the pumps going forward. That is a dangerous place to be. Already there are no alternative refiners, if DAPMAN goes bust then imports are likely to end. Good for the Naira, bad for the market. One man can decide how much we pay for gasoline for years to come. |

oyeb15:Has your oil sector been working before Dangote refinery became operational ![]() If you call incessant long queues at filling stations caused by loads of terrible management of NNPC and highhandedness of independent petroleum marketers..including actions of various labour unions in oil sector as "working" ...me no want that kain working...abeg |

shoodboi2:I used to drive my vehicle to buy goods and now the dealer says don’t worry I will bring the goods to your outlet… is that not cost saving for me? |
| Re: Dangote Refinery Stops Sales To Unregistered Marketers by shoodboi2: 7:20pm On Sep 19, 2025 |
Ixodes:It is cost-saving for you until the guys who drive the trucks go out of business. Then you will understand why Dangote's monopoly over the cement sector is the reason many of us will never build houses. If Dangote has good intentions, he wouldn't be trying to create a monopoly over Nigeria's oil sector. He should focus on his refinery and stop trying to kick everyone out of business. He is trying to create the Nigerian version of Standard Oil. That's like the most monopolistic oil company ever built. The US government had to break it into 34 different oil companies back then. |

shoodboi2:“ the guys who drive the trucks go out of business” not the ones who produce the fuel…same guys that drove subsidized fuel to neighboring countries for higher price. It’s still humans that will drive Dangote’s trucks. |
