Interesting. I was about 19 at that time and had just landed in the US about a year before that concert.
It has to be the most memorable concert that I have ever attended and I have attended lots of concerts especially when I was much younger.
There was no internet back then hence I had to go to AAA office to purchase the ticket.
The first show sold out in minutes while I was in line to buy thr ticket. Luckily they added another show for the next day or so. That's how I was able to get the tickets. All the shows sold out in minutes and the only way to find out was on the Detroit FM radio station.

All I can say is Wowwwww..
Imagine if there was internet at that time, it means all humans would have paused their activities just to attend or watch the show....

M.J was truly a legend, his memories are already a blessing to humanity,and may his soul continue to rest peacefully .......

You're speaking from a Nigerian perspective because we have high value for football that's why our rural dwellers can recognize Messi and Ronaldo but truth is that in countries we're football isn't appreciated like rural India and New Zealand, Messi and Ronaldo may not be known by a lot of people.

Beyonce, Eminem, Taylor Swift should not be on that list.

It is only Bob Marley that can be compared with Michael Jackson. But Bob Marley was far more popular if you consider age (Died at 36 while MJ at 50). After over 40 years of his death still celebrated and his songs are popular even till the next 50years to come. As of today in Nigeria, we hardly hear MJ songs on radios and Tvs, but for Bob it is a daily thing. That was why he was killed by the US. If he was allowed to live longer, the world might have another religion on his name.
