Nigerian lady had her student visa terminated and has been asked to leave the UK immediately because she worked exceeding the 20 hours allowable for a student to work per week.

Context : she's a Nigerian student currently studying for her Bachelors degree in a UK university for the past 3 years. While in the UK her father who was her sponsor died and she fell into depression following the death of her father.

She claimed the only way for her to beat the depression was for her to be in company of people constantly. Because the UK is a busy country where u hardly have friends visiting each other regularly, the only way she can be around people all the time is to be at work. So, she claimed she unknowingly worked exceeding the regular 20 hours on few ocassions in her bid to escape depression that followed losing her dad.

The UK home office reached out to her, requested for explanation why she broke the law by working more than 20 hours a week and after reviewing her case she was asked to leave the UK with her degree program left hanging.

My Personal Opinion : The lady looks like one who would either harm herself or fall into greater depression when she finally gets back to naija. She's visibly broken and may never recover from this. For someone who was on first class but had to abandon her studies due to that infraction, I doubt she will ever heal
Unfortunately she might still lose for bringing this out because
1. Her pof shows her family is capable of catering for her till end of study
2. She's suppose to come back to naija after completion of study, the youkay government already know we are using study to japa.
People are really suffering and depressed with this study route yet more people are still trooping in.
I sympathise with her but there's nothing anyone can do

Mark Perlmutter, an American doctor working in Gaza, stated Israeli snipers were deliberately targeting children. He stated "No toddler gets shot twice by mistake by the 'world's best sniper.' And they're dead-center shots." In a letter addressed to US President Joe Biden, a group of American doctors and nurses returning from Gaza stated, "Every one of us on a daily basis treated pre-teen children who were shot in the head and chest"

These are atrocities some are defending here.

Unfortunately for her, Nigeria has lost a lot of it's good will abroad. Any truth dey sound like lie.

Her story reminds me of the need to have a family. Not necessarily your blood, but people that can offer you comfort when your chips are down

No man or woman should go through life alone. It's tough.

I pray her misfortune is turned around

I sympathise with her but there's nothing anyone can do
1. Yes her PoF definitely showed her family "was" capable, but it seems her father's demise changed everything.

2. She's not yet done with her school. The program she's running is B.Sc and not M.Sc that takes 1 to 2 years to complete. Most likely she planned on returning to naija after school because she mentioned in the video that she appealed to the school for them to allow her even continue her degree online when she gets to naija but they denied her appeal. She was really interested in completing her program and earning that degree.

That study route is very tough especially for students who dont have financially buoyant sponsors back home.

Unfortunately she broke the law and I don't think there's anything she can do to salvage the matter because it seems UK immigration laws have tightened in recent times

This is not propaganda, it is a factual stament that smokers can die and knacking without protection can lead to HIV.

You need to check the meaning of propaganda first before u define positive propaganda

Is the university system in America different from the one in Nigeria because I don't understand how you will be a student in a university setting and not have friends to hang around with unless it's by choice.

Propaganda is just a biased statement. While it tends to lean mostly on the negative, it can be for the positive.

Unfortunately most people who travel as single student and are introverts always struggle to build personal relationships with people abroad they can lay their head on his or her shoulder.

I juts feel she should've been cautious of the number of hours she can work even in her grief. There are some things one should not just do.

I mean for example she didn't drink poison while mourning her father because she knows doing that will kill her Irrespective of how sad she felt. I same vein, She should also have had it at the back of her mind that working more than the 20 hours allowable would send her back to Nigeria.

See the half truths NNPC management gave about the state of our refinery over and over again. You see how everybody was elated at the news of the refinery being fully operational ; APC banger boys abused OBJ that said the refinery won't work years ago and the whole APC media were singing praises about how APC government finally made the moribound Warri and PH refineries work.

propaganda means propagating an agenda

If the agenda is for the common good for all, then it's positive but if it's for the benefit of the one propagating it, then it's negative

It's not about me believing whether it is positive or negative ; it's the definition of propaganda in government/politics I've known for a long time.

Dissemination of combination of truth, half-truths, rumors and facts.

It's not just agenda ; it includes facts, rumors, half-truths and even lies to influence public opinion.

That is the basic definition of propaganda. If u now want to move to positive propaganda then u can proceed from here to explain what positive propaganda is while not forgetting what propaganda is in itself

I'm not saying this because of the APC leader oh. I'm saying that any propaganda for a positive change is positive.

Parents use propaganda to teach their children good manners and behaviors. It's mostly to keep them safe.

Propaganda is almost everywhere, amd for many, it's to keep people in check.

If you remove Nigeria politics from this discussion, you will see positive propaganda

That's propaganda. But the aim is to ensure that the customer has all of their concentration on what they are doing. Nothing is going to explode because you answered a call.

Remove Nigerian politicians, positive propaganda exists, Blueraydick grin

It's not just Nigerian politics I'm even talking about, I'm talking about propaganda in politics in general. It's the same thing everywhere.

Oppsoition will try to use propaganda to sway the people to believe they are better than the ruling class and if given a chance to rule they do things far better than the ruling class are presently doing.

The ruling party too will always deploy propaganda to project incumbent government's policies and programs. They will employ facts, half truths, deliberate omission of facts and even pedestrian arguments to convince the citizens that the government is doing the best they can. They can pick an economic report, turn it over its head to sell the idea that the economy is booming.

For example the government can tell you the GDP is growing and that means the citizens are better off than tbey were when the ruling party took over. But they will deliberately omit GDP per capital that has been on the decline, they will omit world bank data that claimed tens of millions of citizens have been thrown below the poverty level and also deliberately avoid talking about inflation rate.

Such government can do that with the aim of emitting positive reaction from the citizenry ; so they may call it positive propaganda. But I believe propaganda is propaganda

I have just responded to this post in my last post before this one. I'm not talking about Nigerian politics in particular.

I know what propaganda is and I've know what it is not long time ago; long before I was even interested in Nigerian politics

Nice one. Have already completed my 15,000 steps for the day this morning. Took kids to their dancing lesson, left my car there and went for 5km light jog then walked/jogged back the same 5km to pick them up completing my steps for the day. Now taking them to swimming lesson for 30 mins where I will branch the gym next door and hit my biceps, triceps and shoulders then I can retire to watching EPL for the day with clean conscience.
