Example: The Ministry of Health launches a campaign that all male newborn should be circumcised to eliminate their risk of contracting HIV/AIDS.

We all know the above is exaggerated messaging and factually incorrect because circumcision DOES NOT ELIMINATE the risk of contracting the virus BUT because the practice reduces the risk of contracting STIs, UTIs, HIV and improves the general health of the populace, it will be categorized as Positive propaganda.

Deception, half-truths. lies may be deployed to push this kind of propaganda. What makes it positive is that the increased uptake of neonatal circumcision will reduce the rates of transmission of UTI, STIs, HIV and ultimately save lives. What makes it propaganda is the exaggeration, being economical with the truth, hiding facts and not being factually accurate to get behaviour change.

The bold was why I was just laughing at our resident self processed Russian-cum-Palestinian advocate when he was talking about October 7 not being the start of the whole crisis but 56 years ago.

He deliberately chose 56 years ago that was convinient for him but forgot the Palestinians and their Arab brothers plotted together to filwipe off the Jews as far back as 1948 in opposition to the state of Israel and state of Palestine existing side by side as separate individual nations.

They chose war and lost woefully against Israel along with their other Arab brothers. This thing wey u talk say " Na you no read well"? , I do not agree with it because what other meaning is there to read to the clear definition the Britannica gave?

I believe if we are talking about unlearning and relearning, then we should be focusing on how Britannica explained propaganda (not positive or negative propaganda) as " dissemination of information- facts, arguments, rumours, half-truths, or lies- to influence public opinion. It is often conveyed through mass media."

And also " Propaganda being more or less systematic effort to manipulate other people's beliefs, attitudes, or actions by means of symbols (words, gestures, banners, monuments, music, clothing, insignia, hairstyles, designs on coins and postage stamps, and so forth).

They still further explained that propaganda is different from casual conversation that is laden with facts in the sense that

I didn't write any of those, but you said I didn't read it well. What other meaning do these words convey in English abeg?

It's not my opinion that propaganda has a negative connotation, the Britannica definition was straight and simple on what propaganda is.

There's a reason why propaganda is different from facts na. At least we both agree facts (justified truth) and propaganda are not the same thing.

Is the university system in America different from the one in Nigeria because I don't understand how you will be a student in a university setting and not have friends to hang around with unless it's by choice.

There are cultural differences. Abroad most people keep to themselves. You might have a neighbor and barely speak to each other. You have to make yourself almost a nuisance to get new engagement

With technology and phones your best friend might even be across the world so no too much need to engage snobby people. There are even some families that the kids and parents inside the same house only talk to themselves through WhatsApp or SM

Also as a student most people have the cliques and different struggles. When I was in school the Indian clique be like cult. They always get the right study materials, the Teaching assistants who are usually Indians too go don give them pointers on where to study. They know every. I had to forcefully go toast an Indian babe before she begin cut soap for me. Did same with the Chinese cliques too

Also our struggles are different. We will be thinking of where to find side job after classes dem dey hang out for bars and club after hours to bond

You find out that after leaving class as strangers today tomorrow some are best friends cos of hanging out while we wey don go find work are still strangers

Cos someone was telling me that they can't tax you in dollar cos that would be robbery. You would only be taxed when you move it to your naira account.

I have not followed up on this but my personal opinion - one way or another every Nigerian in Nigeria earning money is going to be taxed
