You said it all....abroad aint for everyone.......thats the absolute truth......

I can only join other Nigerians to pray for her. As someone without a passport, I still don't know how Nigerians are coping in the UK.

The news coming from there always is always disturbing. I was on a space of Nigerians in the UK few days ago and I'm just praying for them... How are they managing paying thousands of pounds for papers all the time.

Sincerely I really wish Nigeria National orientation agency will start speaking up... Many Nigerians are fine living in Nigeria but because of online noise about abroad some will resign from government jobs, abandoned flourishing business only to arrive abroad and start developing high blood pressure over bills.

Just last week i heard a gist of a man who sold two buildings just to travel to the US, he has been booted out now and don't know how to start again... Abroad is good with testimonies but I think its not for everyone.

I do and in my opinion if she appeals the decision and appear at the tribunal she will be allowed to stay back and finish her course. Cancelling her visa and asking her to leave the country immediately is too harsh, yes she broke her student visa rules but the punishment need to be measured
stop being naive, you really think that woman is in the UK to study ? The study was a ruse so she can work. Hence why she was working over 20 hours. That 40 year old looking woman ain't in the UK to write thesis 😂😂🤣🤣. She outchea looking for pounds

Meanwhile a former high profile Naija minister accused of major looting back home is still free to walk the streets of the UK unaccosted. So much for sane countries and their laws/legal systems. 🤔

I watched her video on fb and i sympathised with her, if her explanation is anything to go by then its really sad.

She needs to appeal the decision and given a chance to appear in front of immigration tribunal for a good chance to stay and finish her degree
I pray they listen to her. Chai. Make her efforts no go in vain o.

You think they would accept such an excuse? I don't think so cos it's in their law already, enacted since 2023 and several students already played foul to it and deported. The best she could have done was trimming her work hours to 18hours maximally and any expenses not able to make would be shifted to the next.......at least she would have rest of mind......so sad......

But why is she crying?

I thought they said UK is nothing but a Living Hell?

So why is she not rejoicing that she's finally leaving the UK?

I'm not, you are just making baseless assumptions, she went to the UK to study, she did not drop out and start working full time, her progress result is good, some student work during their study time as allowed by the system, her problem was working more hours than allowed.

If you think that she looks 40 then i suggest you invest in glasses.

Let me pick it from abandoning government job. Have u worked in a government establishment before for you to think it pays not to leave?
I have worked at two different government jobs; NIPOST and WAEC. WAEC is even more of regionally international. After 13 yrs and 7 months with WAEC how much did I get as gratuity n pension? I can tell for real that it is not up to 7M.
Whereas, I have someone who has spent just 3yrs in UK and he has been able to invest more than 20M back home and spent up to 50M to bring in 3 family members to study in d UK.

Leave everybody with what work for them. Different stories for different folks.

You can only be fined if you dropped or littered the ground with any can of drinks, dropped a piece of paper and even spitting on the ground. It is called ANTI-SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR.

Staying to finish her degree? Possible but staying longer for another course is unlikely
then she unwittingly just damaged her chance of staying in the UK.

is both annoying and demeaning to find Nigerians bring us so low in the eye of the world by such conduct as this. Is U.K. heaven? Why can’t we do all that is required to make our space safe and self sustaining in all ramifications such that such sojourns are necessarily few and far between! Politicians wake up and let’s throw the yoke off our necks!!!

If Bola Tinubu the President of Nigeria you have been supporting and the previous one called Buhari had performed their duties with sincerity of purpose and with God and humanity in their hearts, Nigeria wouldn't have sunk so low that Nigerians will be so desperate to migrate out of Nigeria to just any county in search of greener pastures and a secured future for their children.

So advice Tinubu and APC that destroyed every fabric of Nigeria, their failure in leadership of Nigeria is the sole reason Nigerians are migrating to UK and every other nation angry

Both of you raise valid points , but understand, people don't just wake up to Japan, they do so because the environment they're leaving is not conducive for them to thrive, if our government was responsible, and cared a little for the masses no one would go to a strange land put up with discrimination and hate just to feed and take care of their families
.What the mainstream media won't tell you is that these so called developed countries under developed Africa and other countries to stay developed.

Yes you are, she is doing her first degree.

The way the law works on paper is not the same way it works in court room because laws are made for interpretation. Her personal circumstances may favour her case if taken to immigration tribunal.

I'm not for one minute supporting law breaking, however when its not intentional the law maybe lenient
How did they know she exceeded the number of work approved hours per week? Do you have any idea?

Most of u in Nigeria seem to know how to interpreted UK laws more than somebody who has been living in UK for donkey years. Interesting.
Really interesting.

If there is one thing I understand about UK, its bending the law on compassionate ground. All things being equal from her side, losing her sponsor and dad are strong compassionate ground to bend the law for her.

I know a student that lost her father last year too.

Wish her luck. It's heart breaking.

Things like this are traceable. They usually invite the person to hear their side of the story, understand what led to it, and ensure everything is okay. Then, they may warn the person to stop overworking. She can appeal if those steps were not followed.
Omo, Eno easy oo! Twenty hours per week won’t cover her bills, including tuition fees. An 80-hour-per-month job, depending on the type, might only fetch her some £800 to £1,400. She’ll need to stick to a tight budget with that amount. Honestly, she’ll be tempted to work extra hours.
Look at what my person in the UK posted on his WhatsApp status just yesterday. The pressure in the UK is real, especially for those not in professional jobs. The system isn’t designed to let you make good money and still comfortably send cash back home, especially for non-professional workers. Most of my friends in professional jobs there are codedly making big cash. 😂 If you flaunt it, people back home will overbill you.

Through her national insurance contribution, the more hours you work the more you pay through the NI.

High NI contribution from a student is suspicious

She should have done cash in hand jobs. She could have just gotten a self employed cleaner job and be cleaning homes for 3-5 clients regularly. No paper trail or bank account for payment- just pay cash in hand. Her clients, if they are Asians, will give her food and meet her Sundry needs if she is a good worker. She won't need to pay NI or Tax as someone doing odd jobs which will even make her fit. She no sabi how to work in the DARK.
