LagosOrigin:is there no other vocabulary aside this boring tribalism? your candidate is yours, others have theirs. the most important thing is election should be free and fair. for those who doesn't support us have rights to do, because last I checked, presidency isn't a chieftaincy title. |

bjdon:In as much as I am in support on what Trump is doing by putting Americans first, but truth is some of you just speak like you don't have deep thinking, I don't want to sound rude but using Nigeria as a case study, do you in your wildest dream think because America is shutting their doors to immigration, suddenly our politicians will overnight start loving Nigerians and start to fix things ? This same politicians that most of them and kids already have several other country passports ? And before you say the ordinary citizens should be the one to make the change, do you remember what happened during the End Sarz movement ? These politicians are ready to unalive anyone and any citizens that stands in their way. Personally I believe the true change we desire will only come when there is a true revolution. That time will come but that's still so far away because a lot of lives will go for it and many of us ain't ready yet, but it will surely come. But you see that statement of hailing what America is doing believing it will fix certain countries, that's a far cry from reality. |

LagosOrigin:You people will just be making gibberish statements out of jealousy because you don't have the opportunity to apply. By the way how many Nigerians uses H-1B visa? From your comment it is possible that you are Obi supporter, if you are did you not also voted for him out of tribalism? Is it possible for everybody to vote Obi? Na by force? To show how myopic you are you failed to realize that some people who voted for Obi or who did not vote out of tribalism might have also apply for H-1B visa. In conclusion you are wishing everybody bad luck. |

lwisee:He wants US companies to employ US citizens 1st and if they want to employ foreigners they have to pay more indirectly cos the foreigner will pay more for his work visa and if he's being sponsored then the company pays for his visa. It's a strategic policy not out of malice. Indians shouldn't come and take US high paying jobs for free. ![]() |

I can’t tell anyone what to do, so do as you please. But I will say this, these countries you’re running to fought vehemently to get to where they are today yet Nigerians don’t want to fight for the betterment of their country. Instead, they bail and leave their country in shambles for others to fix for them and even return for visits with elevated shoulders instead of shame. How can you even want to be in a place in which you aren’t wanted? It’s wild. Imagine going to someone’s house and they say, “I don’t want you here”, yet you insist on remaining. Tackle and pressure your governors, local government chairmen and lawmakers. Write letters to them, text them. I call and send mine texts to do the right thing. Call them out, they are within your reach. Most are not intelligent, assist them in drafting sensible bills and push and fight for a restructured setting so no one is insulting you in another land. |

LagosOrigin:Boss, Tinubu inherited a bankrupt economy. 97% of government revenue was going towards debt servicing. Imagine your salary was 1m, and after servicing debt, you have 30,000 left. Buharis government was now dependent on CBN printing money to lend to it. The foreign reserves were empty. The net foreign reserves, which is actually forex the central bank has access to, had only $4bn. This cannot even cover one month of imports, while the minimum it should have is 4 months import cover. Meanwhile, it was owing buyers of forex $7bn. The forex scarcity was so bad that some multinationals like Shoprite and GSK left the country. Airlines that were owed forex like the Emirates suspended operations. Tinubu had no option but to undergo radical reforms. First, he ended petrol subsidies. That stopped rhe FG from borrowing huge amounts of money to finance the subsidy. A lot of the debts borrowed during Buharis Tenure was to pay for this subsidy. That's why all the 3 major presidential candidates said they were ending the petrol subsidies. Next, he floated the Naira. Why was the foreign reserves empty? It was because forex was sold below its true market When floated, the Naira swiftly fell to around $1- N1,600 Tinubu was hoping the Naira would be around N700-900 but the market resisted it. The question now is- are the reforms working? The FG is now spending less than 50% of revenue on debt servicing. The net foreign reserves had grown to $41bn. The country's credit score was upgraded. That was why Charles Soludo and Okonjo-Iweala said the economy was stabilising. Do I like all Tinubu's policies? No. I think he is borrowing money for many unnecessary projects. Nevertheless, the reforms were necessary and I give him kudos for it. |

adenigga:India is already kicking against this Policy. It is Trump's way of getting at Modi for going to China's Military Parade and BRICS Bromance. I can see some people already berating Nigeria and Nigerians, this one doesn't really target us though some will be caught in the Web but it is not meant to hinder Nigerians movements to the US. |
