Sowore raised two very disturbing issues against Wike. The two issues demand national attention:

1. Sowore accused Wike of genocide in Obigbo. I am wondering why no Igbo leader found this disturbing and called for investigation. If truly Igbo youths were murdered extra-judicially, why has no investigation been conducted? It is even disheartening that Igbo leaders like Ugwuanyi and Ikpeazu fratenize with Wike. It is time for the Nigeria Police and other security agencies to investigate this allegation. Even more Amnesty International need to voice concern here and escalate this allegation.

2. Sowore accused Wike of owning three properties in Florida, in the name of his wife and children. This allegation was backed up with pictorial evidences and properties documents. Now, I do not know when these properties were acquired, but we all know that Wike has never worked for anyone, except as Chairman of ObiOkpor LGA, to Chief of Staff to Amechi and later Minister of State for Education under GEJ from where he become governor of Rivers State. In all of these years, there were no records of Wike not declaring these assets in clear violation of code of conduct for public officers. If we truly are building a nation, the EFCC and or ICPC should be conducting investigations about this allegation.
Unfortunately, we are in a nation where corrupt officials and corruption hold sway.

Who will save Nigeria, that is the big question. Truly, we cannot continue like this while the rest of responsible nations are progressing? We were inundated with stories of land grabbing in a few months back, that is in addition to other allegations about who controls Rivers State revenue and allocations. Nigeria appears to be sinking deeper by the years, while the average Nigerian depreciates. They middle class is cemetery wiped out, while the few surviving ones seek the japa route. Yet, we pride ourselves as one of the big members of OPEC. Who do us this?
