Trump announced a policy targeted at everyone coming to the US under that category to pay $100,000 and the policy will affect the South Americans and South Asians the most, especially skilled health care, engineering and IT workers from India but there you are talking about Nigeria. Has Trump ever done anything specifically targeting Nigerians no. It's Trump against the world and we should be the ones saying we are glad because your people supported his election hoping he will come and release the director now dying in DSS jail and declare Biafla.

Try not to waste your time replying ignorant people; they are many on this forum.

They always believe everything is about Nigeria and Tinubu. Ask them how many Nigerians apply for the H1-B visa now, they don't even know. Countries like India, Philippines, and other American (continent) countries are the most affected but they always find a way to make it about Nigeria.

The US H1-B visa is even employer's sponsorship, applicant does'nt have to pay a dime.

How is protecting jobs for Americans is the same as wrecking America?
China has no capital and is already collapsing with the banking system failed. Despite all the US challenges, China will NEVER attain the US level in 100 lifetimes. China is already well on the way back to pre-1990. The only future China has is to be a big bully to all the poor countries that took money from them. America will still be the future, bigger and better.

Security engineer - $150k

If employers pay 100K to the govt and pay between $40k - $100k to the skilled workers, they will still save between $10k - $25k. How is this not enough if they’re not greedy? The choice is theirs.

Its going to cause a massive drop in F1 Visa applications especially for those who saw education as a route to migrate into the US. There are over 1m international students in the US.

I think Trump wants a more prosperous and diverse world. A world where a Ukraine is able to defend itself, where Europe is able to chart its own course without depending on US might. Where a Nigeria is able to care for its people's health, education and prosperity.

Because when you are prosperous you are ble to trade properly with the US and prosper the U S even more.

I think folks in the US are beginning to see the limitations of a unipolar world where it has led for so long, sucked so much virtue from other nations that the world has become unfertile to its ideals, it has started to rot from within.

What this man doesn't understand, anyone with 100k Dollars will never waste that huge amount of money to seek a job in the USA. It's not possible.

Not all policies favours all in the short run.
Trust me, this policy if sustained will grow domestic experts.

Companies will start training young Americans to become global assets.

More jobs to fresh graduates, skill works and even favourable take home.

To us as Nigerians, for sure it may have negative effect on us now but the multiplier effect on this policy will impact on us positively.

I do not think he is wrecking anything. Truth is that he is focusing attention as promised on Americans .and that's why he was voted in. Forget media propaganda. The voters wanted such ideas to be carried out.

My only issue with such stance is after taking such a decision for their own good , they still go ahead to fiddle in the politics or elections of other countries. This indirectly putting pressure on immigration concerns he is crying about .

Let them stop influencing elections in Africa for example, or better , let them help ensure elections are conducted fairly in Africa, and see how the urge to travel out of Africa becomes lame.
