See, the power to oversight comes with the power to sanction. The Assembly has the power to sanction an incumbent governor but they have no power to sanction a former sole administrator. Even a former, they can’t do much other than threaten legal action.

So, all these noise about probing the former administrator is nothing but empty noise. They can’t do anything to him because they have no power to oversight or sanction him.

If he had looted 10% of the said amount that would be about 25 billion naira in just 6 month. This my friend is the main reason why politics is a do or die affair in the country untill we entrench transparency in governance we are going nowhere.

The Supreme court don't need to interpret anything. Under emergency rule, the President is the "Governor" that carries out executive functions of the State while the National Assembly takes over the role of the state assembly. Ibas is just a ceremonial representative of the President just like Ambassadors in our foreign missions. Therefore he cannot be probed by a state assembly. However, it doesn't still change my stand that the state of emergency declaration is politically motivated and suspension of an elected governor is illegal.
