My wife is expecting twins(boys). She's in her 35 week but presently she's being having lower abdominal pain and also having difficulty with breathing when sleeping. This is her first pregnancy I don't know if this is normal or not

it should be . Last stage of pregnancy comes with its own challenges. But to ease her mind let her see her doctor.

I didn’t realize there’s a thread like this on nairaland, I just came across this thread today.

Please I need good hospital recommendations for a first time pregnancy with multiple fibroids. Hospitals like Mother and Child, lagoon comes to mind but I can’t seem to settle on one.

I have heard about south shore hospital too.

Hi all, happy weekend, I'm a FTM, 35 going on 36 years, 31 weeks pregnant and very confused.

I had a "smooth" pregnancy (with lots of nausea and vomitting, etc) but it was ok, not until I was admitted for fibroid cs I had pains. Thankfully, the pain resolved and I've been very careful and drinking lots of water

However at my last scan, I was told my baby was small and I should eat etc I think I was 27/28 weeks then.

I'm now 31 weeks pregnant and this is my scan result as of today
BPD : 7.84cm, EGA : 31wks3d HC : 28.27cm, EGA : 31wks0d AC : 23.94cm, EGA : 28wks2d FL :   6.15cm,  EGA : 31wks6d CGA : 30wks; 4days; FHR: 148bpm EFW: 1486g ± 222.97g

These are the notes from the sonographer
CONCLUSION: 1.Single Live Intrauterine Fetus at 30wks; 4days coexisting with uterine                                  fibroid.
2.Abdominal circumferences is below expected range for GA,raising concern for early fetal growth restriction. *Recommendation; Correlate with maternal history and risk factors.  Umbilical artery and mid cerebral artery Doppler studies recommended to assess for fetal compromises.

I'm to attend ANC on Monday and I'm just so scared, I've read up on google about having reduced abdominal circumference, I just wanted to ask if anyone in the house has had this and what the outcome was

Oh so sorry I don’t knw much about it myself but hopefully someone comes with information about it. But what did the doctor advise u do about it?

I will be following up and sharing my experience as it unfolds. Maybe it will help someone in future.
I went for the ANC appointment today and I was sent for obstetrics scan, Doppler studies and FBS with 2 hours postprandial glucose test
The result of the scan showed every other thing is ok except the abdominal circumference which is 3-4weeks behind. Sugar test will be done tomorrow.
I'm very scared and I don't know what to think, but I know everything will be ok.

I understand the fear you're having now, but try to be positive. Everything will be fine, just try and hand over everything to God who gave you the baby in the first place. Kpele

I don't know of its same thing but I measuring small and at some point, the sonographer mentioned that I eat well, in all. I gave birth and baby weighed 2.7. Just keep praying and don't entertain fear. Do research yourself

Main grain should be corn, I would recommend adding tigernuts and dates. Oats is also good but better to take this separately to benefit from fiber and also have alternative to pap mum can switch with from time to time

You see scans are only estimates and not 100% certain that's the reason for the 'E' in all the measuring parameters, however you have completed a good percentage of 3rd trimester so if baby needs to come now but work with your Dr, everything will be fine by God's grace.

It is sometimes normal and no cause for alarm however go to the hospital and complain better to err on side of caution. I wish your wifey safe, hale and hearty 9 months journey. It is well with you both
