Unfortunately, we just got notification of our visa declined status, reason being that they could not confirm our accommodation.

We booked at Radission Blu Cape Town of which we attached the booking and direct email confirmation from the reservations manager. We have written the hotel and they said that they are not sure what could have gone wrong as our booking is confirmed in their records and they’re willing to provide additional support.

We want to appeal this as it’s really baseless. Please what do you think @africankel and others. Thank you.
I lost my yellow card physical copy on my last trip but I had the scanned copy. I barely had time for a VFS appointment, moreso go to port health for another yellow card. I then decided to go through the evisa format. If I get approved, I'll make time to get the physical copy.

I've been denied twice for the same reason; cannot confirm accomodation. I used Marriott the first time. The second time I used Onomo hotel as someone suggested here, attached double confirmation mails. I still got rejected due to that.

I believe the best is VFS if you can make time for it, which I can't this year. The evisa feels like a 20% chance, a route to make money than doing their job.

So sorry to hear this. You should reapply rather than appealing, as appeals are mere formalities - they are never attended to.

When you reapply, check if you can personally confirm the hotel reservation from their website - you should then give a step by step guide in your introduction letter to whoever will treat your next application how to confirm the booking.

Like @hunee has stated, eVisas are now a gamble. All the best.

Hello house, your advice is needed on issue.

A friend of mine was granted an e-visiting visa in May this year but he was denied access of entry at the point of entry in jobog airport

The reason is that when the visa officer call the hotel line on his hotel reservation. The hotel attendance replied that his (applicant) reservation was earlier cancel due to insufficient fund on his debit card.

Can he reapply to regularizes this issue

Next time the person should enter via Cape town, they are immigrant friendly in Cape town, because it is a tourist destination.

He was treated badly and still wants to visit again? 🤐

Hotel can cancel reservation anytime, best thing is to check if he truly have enough funds for his stay, they instead denied him entry...

Africa country sha 😏

Thank you so much boss. We plan to do the physical application at VFS instead, this time. I have also asked the hotel to send us a letter-headed letter, addressed to the consulate which is also signed and stamped. After now, if it doesn't work out, we will forget them.

With this option, you should be fine.

Hi guys, I once had an SA E-visa in 2023
It was a 10 days visa because I stated in my application that I was only traveling to JoBurg for 10 days

I didn’t travel again due to some personal reasons

Now I wanna get a new visa

Will my old unused visa affect my application?

Hi, everyone just got a message that our passports is on transit from the consulate to the visa application centre. What does this mean? and also do they notify you of what their decision is?
Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by Sojeezy247: 6:48pm On Sep 12, 2025
Decision has being made already,no they don't notify you of the outcome, you find out yourself when you receive your parcel

I get very suspicious whenever I hear the word "package".
Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by hunee: 1:05am On Sep 16, 2025
Someone here applied 4 different times and the visa got rejected over same purpose. I personally visited Home Affairs in Brooklyn about a year ago to carry out some findings/"inquire" on the issues surrounding frequent rejections of evisas. If you have been following me, i made known the report here as at that time. Truth is the system is corrupt and they are hoarding these visas as alleged from people i spoke with . @dende3 is that the package you mean? Please clarify
Africankel:

Lol. I dont even want to be talking about all the things happening behind the scene as reported. The minister, leon is doing all he can, but i do not think it can be realistic on long term. Same home affairs that has pending applications since 5, 6 , 7 years ago for Trv. Lol,
Well, we will continue to sanitize these place. Make them newbies sha dey careful with packaging of visa application.

Gather your info, and apply ,hope for the best. Dont expect any magic or wonders, just hope for the best!

Good day house,
I applied for an accompanying visa for my son in April, shortly after I received my own study visa. However, up till now, I have not gotten any feedback from the embassy. I also cannot track the application, as the system keeps showing “invalid.” I already sent a letter to the embassy in Abuja requesting that the process be expedited, but I have not received any response.
My questions are:

Can I reapply without first receiving feedback on the current application?
What is the longest an application can remain pending without a response?
Is it normal for it to take almost five months?

Is there anyone currently planning to start a PhD at UNISA for 2026 year please?
Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by Sojeezy247: 10:44am On Sep 23, 2025
You can't extend an evisa(except they have changed the modalities),you can only extend a vignette visa(sticker visa).

Not enough to say thank you and you go off.

It is clearly stated that you can't extend on your visa.

So what's up? Was it a back end stuff you did? We need clarity.

Tell us what we need to know
Or a hint incase someone else has similar issues.
