Women leaders from the North Central geo-political zone have urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu not to allow “forces of progress” in the National Assembly to be intimidated.

In a statement issued on Wednesday in Makurdi, the North Central Women Front (NCWF), led by Mrs. Mary Adamu, condemned the leadership of the Senate for allegedly frustrating bright and articulate lawmakers, particularly Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.

“The recent action of the Senate leadership can only lead to moral and political disorder. The Senate appears to have become a casual blackboard for juvenile graffiti,” the women declared.

They also praised the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) for standing firm on issues in the Senate, describing the treatment of Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan as “an ascendancy of evil in the country.”

Senate Clerk Accused of Promoting Anti-Natasha Agenda

The group criticized the Clerk of the Senate for allegedly promoting a divisive agenda and urged other geo-political zones to join them in freeing senators from what they termed “the crude clutches of Senate leadership.”

“Majority of the senators now find themselves as hostages in the crude hands of the Senate leadership,” the NCWF statement read.

Mrs. Adamu stressed that Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan remains “a leading activist and one of the intellectual pillars of the Senate,” lamenting that she has been unfairly degraded by the institution’s leadership.

Call for Justice and Inclusive Representation

The NCWF urged Nigerians to resist fascist tendencies in governance, warning that silencing vocal lawmakers like Akpoti-Uduaghan undermines democracy.

“Of what use are people who cowardly allow evil to exist?” the group queried, insisting that the time had come for women and progressive leaders across Nigeria to demand accountability and fairness.

Natasha made an accusation that she was sexually harassed.

9 months on, she has not provided a single shred of evidence.

She went to Interparliamentary Union, BBC, Sky News, DW News to lie that she was suspended for being a woman. Whenever interviewers reminded her that she had engaged in interparliamentary behaviour, she got angry and talked over them.

Natasha took Nigerians on a ride. She assumed Nigerians would believe her when she shed a tear or two to play the victim. Natasha always released variants of what happened to the public.

Then she claimed they wanted to kpai her.

Natasha lacks the temperament for representative leadership. She also lacks accountability. She trained as a lawyer, but failed to back allegations with evidence.

I was one of the earliest ones to support Natasha before I realized she was banking on emotional blackmail to have her way.

Has she apologized to her colleagues for yelling on the floor of the senate? Has she apologized to Senator Karimi for insulting his mother? Has she apologized to Nigerians for seizing our slot in Interparliamentary Union to say she was victimized?

Nigerian women, are you victimized for being women? If Nigerian women were being victimized, how come Natasha became a senator? How come we have other female senators? How come we have female CEOs, ministers and heads of parastatals? How come we have female deputy governors?

Natasha, end the drama. It has become stale!

Now for someone as smart and intelligent as we are made to believe, do you think Natasha should have made such accusations without just one proof, not even a text message from Akpbio?

Let's assume she wasn't keeping records at the time and she decided to make it public... don't you think Natasha would have at the least waited a while and set him up to have evidence before coming out public? It is the easiest thing to do considering her claims that Akpabio was lust in her and all over her, he would have been very easy to set up.

This Natasha drama is unnecessary. As far as I am concerned, the suspension was too short. It should have been made like 1 year. We have too many pressing issues that to focus on a blackmailing woman who believes she is still the center of sexual attraction.

So this is the depth of your reasoning? If you had any shred of sense, you would know Natasha owes her mandate to the ballot box, not to Tinubu, not to Akpabio, and certainly not to your ignorant approval.

Seduction? That’s the best insult you can cook up? Typical gutter talk from men terrified of a principled woman they cannot control. Natasha stood her ground against intimidation, humiliation, and weaponized suspension — that’s not seduction, that’s courage. Something your Senate godfathers lack completely.

And about your so-called “court injection” — it is injunction, not “injection”. Learn the basics before running your mouth. The court has already spoken; her office was unsealed because the Senate acted outside the law. If you hate the truth, take your bitterness back to Akpabio’s lodge, not here.

Imagine someone accusing you of doing that thing when you know you didn't but some people decided on their own to hold on to the believe you did it cos your people are know for that!
