The FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, has inspected the construction of 40 new houses for judicial officers in Katampe District, Abuja.

According to the plan, 20 units will be allocated to the FCT High Court, 10 to the Federal High Court, and 10 to the Court of Appeal.

I personally thought it should be the NJC building houses for judges and not their future clients

I think providing housing should be the role of the judiciary as the third arm of government with the allocation they receive.
Or the executive is trying to block seeing their nyash from prosecution.

It is Nigerians citizens that should demand, advocate for the independence of institutions particularly one that is so critical as the third arm in the Judiciary.

It is the job of the citizen to be that vigilant. If the citizen can take on more responsibility and take away the privileges of the Executive then autocratic rule can be checkmated.

I have said several times in the past for instance that the National Assembly should be directly funded by the people just not an issue of first line charge from the treasury but by taxation at constituency levels.

Only when Senators and Reps are 'sponsored' by the people to represent them will the task of constituency development be taken seriously. But when the Executive 'pays' them their allegiance will always be to that am of government.

Judicial officers are public servants and deserve roofs over their heads in order for them to be able to carry out their responsibilities without stress.

If these accommodations were put in place by successive governments, H.E. Nyesom Wike would have channeled his efforts to other areas equally demanding urgent attention.

This has nothing to do with judges being bribed or not.

One must learn to criticize objectively and not out of bitterness, hatred or sheer mischief.

Since the emergence of Wike as the FCT Minister, it's been projects galore which have given the FCT it's deserved face-lift.

If you do, enemies go complain, if you no do dem go still complain.

What is wickes obsession with judges, when he was still a governor in rivers state , he kept building houses for judges up and down.

Total waste of money and resources.. judges needs private life. They can't stay where everyone sees them. They will feel insecure. Most of the one built for them in most states are left uninhibited. Meanwhile are they not civil servants ? Why build houses for them. If you want to be fair build for other cadres of civil service

And make money too. The cost of this project will supply water to the entire FcT municipality or fund high tech security infrastructure for the federal capital territory.

Please Don Juan hurry up to the nearest High Court in Abuja to file your grievances against Wike, I believe the judge will be really interested in hearing your complaints about corruption by public officials.
