FORCE COMMANDER OPERATION WHIRL STROKE OFFICIALLY DECLARED CLOSED BASIC DRONE OPERATION AND JAMMER SYSTEM TRAINING IN MAKURDI

The Force Commander Joint Task Force Operation WHIRL STROKE (OPWS), Major General Moses Gara, has officially declared closed the Basic Drone Operation and Jammer System Training organized for officers and soldiers within OPWS Area of Responsibility. The ceremony was held on 17 September 2025 at the Joe Akaahan Cantonment, Makurdi.

In his remarks as Special Guest of Honour, Major General Gara emphasized the importance of the training in enhancing operational efficiency, particularly in the areas of force protection, surveillance, and search and rescue. He noted that with the newly acquired drone capability, troops can now identify objects and monitor activities from a distances of over 3000 meters, thereby providing a decisive edge in confronting adversaries.

According to him, “There are criminals in our society who continually engage in activities that threaten peace and security, leading to needless loss of innocent lives. With these drones, we can effectively identify their hideouts and take appropriate action.” He further urged the participants to apply the skills learned in their daily operations to consolidate the operational successes already recorded by OPWS.

The Force Commander expressed profound appreciation to the Chief of Army Staff for approving both the issuance of drones and the conduct of the training. He also commended the Chief of Policy and Plans (Army), the Chief of Training (Army), and the Commander Nigerian Army Space Command, Major General UG Ogeleka, for mobilizing a team of instructors on short notice. Special thanks were extended to the Commander 401 Special Forces Brigade and Sector 1 OPWS, Colonel Kolawole Bukoye, for hosting the event, as well as the instructors for their dedication.

Speaking on behalf of the graduating students, Captain OJ Abua expressed gratitude to the Force Commander for providing such a valuable training opportunity, assuring that the knowledge gained will be applied effectively in the field.

Highlights of the closing ceremony included a course appraisal briefing, closing remarks by the Special Guest of Honour, vote of thanks, practical demonstrations by the participants, and a group photograph.

15 years of counterinsurgency and absolutely NO LESSONS LEARNT.
WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE NIGERIAN ARMY??

Playing around as special forces while boko haram has attacked and collapsed another army base in Banki.

Go and collect your soldiers who ran away to cameroon.

Bandits in Katsina wearing full battle gear are negotiating with governors while your army films the process.

Nigeria is a Joke.

THE HEROISM OF NIGERIA POLICE ASP DAN ZURU & OTHERS AT AGU CENTRE IN BENUE STATE

...How A Gallant Police/ "Anyam Nyór" Operation Took On Hundreds Of Armed Terrorists

In difficult times such as we are in now, we must not take for granted the sacrifices that patriots make in the line of duty, lest the motivation that such sacrifices should give to others be lost.

The supreme price that Police ASP Danlamin Usman aka Dan Zuru and others paid at Agu Centre in armed combat operation against Fulani herdsmen and their bandit and militia allies must not be in vain.

The security operation at Agu Centre in Katsina-Ala LGA of Benue State last Thursday, 19th September, 2025 against armed terrorists by a detachment of the Nigeria Police and the local security task force code named "Anyam Nyór" is worth taking proper note of.

Insider accounts have revealed how the operation led by ASP Dan Zuru, was executed with the sort of bravery that should earn those who fell in action and those who survived it the garlands they deserve.

Dan Zuru had become popular within security circles in the state for his uncommon bravery and serial successess in combat operations, particularly in the Sankera area where he was passionately committed to the fight against banditry and herdsmen terrorism.

With him on the operation was another combatant police veteran popularly known as John Bushman and the Commander of "Anyam Nyór" in Katsina-Ala, Commander Mike Tuurga, leading dozens of battle tested troops riding on motorcycles and 3 trucks including a heavy calibre Gun-truck.

Acting on credible intelligence the operation targeted to dislodge Fulani herdsmen who had retreated to Agu Centre following heavy loses they had suffered at the hands of the same team and units of the the Nigerian Army Operation WhirlStroke in the Utange - Mbatyula axis of Katsina-Ala LGA.

However, the team was apparently not aware of reinforcements recruited by the herdsmen who were joined at Agu Centre by local bandits in the area and hired mercenary militia from neighbouring Taraba State numbering in hundreds.

It was, therefore, a near overwhelming force that Dan Zuru and his team came up against when they got into the engagement envelope at Agu Centre, with the ensuing firefight said to have been bloody.

The enemy force which was reportedly entrenched and lying in wait unleashed heavy calibre automatic fire including with AK 47s, SMGs and Rocket Propelled Grenade launchers (RPG) against Dan Zuru and his men who took cover and returned fire.

At this point professional combat training and experience is said to have weighed in favour of the gallant security forces, who though heavily outnumbered, were able to hold the terrorists and their allies at bay.

Dan Zuru, Tuurga, Bushman and a crack team around them are said to have kept the engagement envelope saturated with covering fire while he gave the orders for a retreat, and it was in the course of this that Commander Tuurga is said to have been shot in the arm.

The terrorists sensing a breach in the defence shield from the engle of fire earlier covered by the wounded Commander Tuurga had surged forward, but Bushman is said to have dashed forward, ducking under a hail of fire to take control of the Gun-truck which gunner might have gone down under the initial fire.

Bushman engaging the MG on the Gun-truck had reportedly wrecked havock on the enemy, giving Tuurga and others the needed covering fire to retreat into escape, with Dan Zuru still pinning down the main body of terrorists under withering fire.

It was when the chain ammunition feeding the MG on the Gun-truck had ran out and Bushman, without the assistance of a gunhand had no time to quickly enough break open and load a new chain-feed that Dan Zuru given him the order to dismount the MG and escape with it, which he did successfully, with his superior officer giving him covering fire.

NAF, ASELSAN PARTNER TO BOOST RADAR, AIR DEFENCE AND PRECISION CAPABILITIES

The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hasan Bala Abubakar, has reaffirmed the Nigerian Air Force’s (NAF) commitment to strengthening cooperation with Turkish defence giant ASELSAN, particularly in the areas of radar, air defence, and precision technologies. Speaking on 23 September 2025 during the courtesy visit of ASELSAN’s President and CEO, Mr Ahmet Akyol, to NAF Headquarters in Abuja, the CAS noted that the engagement provided an opportunity to consolidate ongoing collaboration and explore new avenues that would directly enhance the NAF’s operational capabilities in addressing contemporary security challenges.

Air Marshal Abubakar commended ASELSAN’s record as a trusted leader in defence electronics and innovation, stressing that the company’s expertise aligns with his Command Philosophy of building an agile and resilient Air Force that can effectively meet Nigeria’s security needs. He explained that the introduction of advanced radar systems, anti-drone technologies, and precision-guided capabilities would not only boost NAF’s mission effectiveness but also contribute to safeguarding communities across Nigeria and the wider sub-region. “This partnership is about equipping our Air Force with the tools needed to protect our people and strengthen national security,” he added.

In his remarks, Mr Akyol expressed appreciation for the warm reception and reiterated ASELSAN’s readiness to deepen collaboration with the NAF by delivering cutting-edge solutions in radar, avionics modernisation, and air defence systems. He emphasised that Nigeria remains a strategic partner for Türkiye in Africa, and ASELSAN is committed to contributing to NAF’s efforts in protecting lives and ensuring stability. The visit is the latest in a series of high-level engagements between both nations, underscoring their shared vision of advancing defence cooperation that directly supports peace and security for the Nigerian people.

NIGERIA PROJECTS STRATEGIC VISION AT FUTURE AIR FORCE CONFERENCE IN PRAGUE, CZECH REPUBLIC

As part of efforts to strengthen international defence cooperation, a Nigerian Air Force (NAF) delegation led by Air Vice Marshal IH Etukudo, Chief of Policy and Plans, participated in the Future Air Force Conference in Prague, Czech Republic, from 17–18 September 2025. The conference drew senior officers and delegates from nations including Uganda, Ghana, Ethiopia, France, and the USA, alongside defence industry leaders and global air power experts. AVM Etukudo delivered a keynote address outlining the NAF’s modernisation drive aimed at building an agile, resilient, and technologically driven force aligned with Nigeria’s security needs. The conference explored critical themes such as pilot training, modernisation of syllabuses, instructor expertise, and airspace requirements, while also emphasising international collaboration across policy, diplomacy, security, R&grin and the aviation industry.

Nigeria’s participation underscored its growing role as a credible partner in shaping global security. Engagements with key stakeholders provided valuable insights into leveraging technology, enhancing training, and refining airpower strategies to meet evolving threats. These outcomes reinforced the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Bala Abubakar’s vision of a future-ready force capable of contributing to both national security and wider international stability. As AVM Etukudo aptly noted, “The Nigerian Air Force is committed to building partnerships that drive innovation, enhance capability, and foster collective security in today’s complex global environment.”

The north is good at pampering criminals.
I sometimes don't have a single pity for that region.
How can someone pity a region that doesn't pity itself.
The leaders of that region re only active when it's time to play politics nd religion.
You see them sending threats, but when it comes to been responsible to their people, they turns to maniquean.
One jst put all the islamic scholars of his state on govt payroll even when the constitution says otherwise.
This is one of the poorest state in the country that earns little.
Shame 🫠

Troops repel terrorist attacks in Borno, kill 11, recover weapons

Troops of the Joint Task Force (North East) Operation Hadin Kai have repelled terrorist attacks in Borno, killing 11 insurgents and recovering arms and drugs.

Sources told Zagazola Makama that the troops broke a night infiltration attempt at Mallamfatori with indirect fire, dispersing the terrorists before they could launch coordinated attacks.

The sources added that a separate attack on Damboa led to the death of one Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) member.

The sources further said limited operations launched by troops at 4:30 a.m. on Saturday yielded significant success when they made contact with terrorists around Loskori general area, a boundary between 195 Battalion and 73 Battalion.

According to the sources, two soldiers sustained injuries but are in stable condition, while troops neutralised 11 terrorists and recovered two AK-47 rifles and a large cache of drugs.

My brother even if it is revealed, does our government have the political will to arrest, try and if found guilty jail such politicians? I doubt it very much.

It will simply be denied by the named parties under the heading of fake news, and their blind supporters will sally out to defend them online. The waters will be muddied with accusation and counter accusation and the matter will be forgotten once the next major scandal or news item breaks.
