I think he has chosen to maintain the essence of the platform as it has been since its creation, which I don't really have any issue with.

In fairness, he doesn't really need to rival X or any of other social platforms. I think he has managed to retain majority of its core user base in spite of the seeming lack of innovation with the platform.

However, it is the menace of the infamous spam bot that is causing headaches. Any small insult, they will send you away to to cool off cheesy

Maintaining your core doesn't mean you should just leave things how they are without improvements.

I actually do like the archaic nature of the platform grin

. Maybe not the excessive tribalism and the over-the-top hatred that has pervaded it. I guess that's the reason for the spam bot menace.

Not true. If you were very active 2012-2015, you’ll know a lot of the core users then aren’t here anymore. I have made some real life friends from Nairaland. All of them have not logged on to nairaland for more than 10 years now, and it’s a combination of factors that all points to the way the platform is being managed.
