How I Caught Fulani Herdsmen Red Handed Grazing On My Rice Farm by Godwins4(op): 2:39pm On Sep 24, 2025
I just returned from my farm now heart broken.
What is the way forward in this country my people? How can someone use his own cow business to spoil another one's source of income.

After my NYSC in Bauchi, I decided to do small business and farming at the same time before going back to my state, so I paid for a farmland, paid for the land tilling and extra hands that assisted me through out the process.
The land is big though, I divided it into two, one part for rice and the other part for maize and soya beans.
After a month of cultivation, I discovered that fulani herdsmen are a menace in that area, I hurriedly barricaded the maize and soya bean part with sticks and thorns that I was able to get within the farm but I was unable to cover all the entire farm space because of the size. So today I decided to check my farm and see if my maize is due for harvest, that was how I saw two fulani boys grazing on the farm, the eldest upon sighting me on bike, quietly left the farm, leaving only his younger accomplice on the crime scene, as you can see from the picture below, well I did as if I didn't see anybody, I covered the farm with my phone camera before heading to the maize side to plug some maize.
It's unfortunate that they cleared the whole rice farm, like there is nothing left for me on the land now, my allowee savings gone, my efforts and transport to and fro also gone, is this what farmers are going through in Nigeria, this is actually my first time farming, first time investing in Agriculture. Who will compensate me now, nobody. I just have to count my loss and move on. Bauchi state governor please call this herders to order, our leaders need to sit up. Farmers can not continue to toil in vain in this nation. It is well.

Seriously, this is not good at all, now I feel the pains of farmers first hand. Our leaders should have mercy on us and put a stop to this injustice

Intruders in your farmland and you did as if you didn't see anybody?
Why so?

That's the best thing to do, as far as I am concerned, safety first, I can't confront someone with a weapon, once there is life there is hope.

I will NEVER touch touch the anointed blokkos of Sheikh Gummi in Jeeeesus name. Let me hear somebody shout Hallelujah!

I will address all Fulani cow men as MEGIDA or OGAAJO to avoid aaabaaamo. Praise the Lord!

I will ALWAYS smile and wave like a simpleton whenever I see Ogaajo Dan Fulani's cows enjoying and destroying my crops free of charge.

I feel your pain bro... This country is something else. In my own fantasy, everyday I keep praying to God to give me the power of Vampire Klaus. I will seriously deal with a lot of people in this country.

When you complained of hunger, high cost of food, inflation, low purchasing power, they said you should go and farm your food

You harkened to the call, went to farm, now this is the result. They couldn't even spare you knowing that you served your country.

What is the new ministry of livestock do about this? Nothing

Nigeria is a highly dysfunctional country.
It is a rubbish anyhow country.

Until people that their head are correct are allowed to sit on exalted positions. This is what we will keep getting. Even white man is not spared too. Some white skin country allowed rubbish in their country, they never remained the same again.

If we keep allowing rubbish we will keep getting rubbish

Sorry about this the great farmer. This is what all of us is going through especially for us farming rice. The rice will grow back again if it has not started producing seeds but my fear now is that the fertilizer you've used plus rain is going. So sorry.

It's already late, God knows I won't near anything called farm again, I will rather buy from the market, moreover I will be leaving the state soon, may God help farmers all over the country, I know one day monkey go go market, e no go return. You can't leave grass and be feeding on people's sweat and you think they will continue clapping for you, that's wickedness now.

There is but one crop that is immune to cow damage, and that is oil palm trees. If you ever decide to venture back into agriculture, specialize in oil palm trees alone, and your only worry then will become kidnapping while visiting your farm.

The logic behind the love for their cows is the same logic behind the love for money by others too.

The older herder most likely left his younger colleague to hide so as to observe your potential reactions and harm you if you had put up any confrontation .
You have saved yourself a lot by ignoring them. God will compensate your loss in greater dimensions

They will keep doing what they're doing until they get consequences of their actions. Sorry but they will keep spoiling your farms unless there's a vigilante service in Your area

Maybe the kids didn't even know that the plants are rice plants. Not that knowing would have stopped them.

Ia there a law that prevents children to be alone my themselves in the bushes grazing?

You should be ashamed of yourself. During world war 2 millions of Europeans as young as 18 years volunteered to go preserve freedoms in faraway lands, you can't even defend your own rights. Don't be a weakling it serves no use.

I am not from the North bro, it's NYSC that brought me here, but I am done with it already, I was only waiting to harvest my crops and go back to my state. But that isn't the case anyways, it doesn't matter where you are from because this people are everywhere in this country and this is what farmers are going through.

He wasn't alone, the eldest saw me and left the rice farm immediately, as if he was looking for something in the nearby farm, I didn't video him to avoid suspicion. They have been grazing on it before until I met them in action that day when they came to finish off what they already started.
