⚡Germany’s Defense Ministry is reporting that a pair of Russian “Luch-Olymp-K” Signals-Surveillance Satellites are actively “shadowing” two Intelsat-operated communication satellites utilized by the German Armed Forces and NATO, stating that the ongoing action is a “fundamental threat” against NATO by Russia. In September 2018, France’s Minister of the Armed Forces claimed that in 2017 a Luch-Olymp-K Satellite had crept close to the “Athena-Fidus” Telecommunication Satellite, operated jointly by France and Italy and used for secure military communications and the planning of operations by NATO, calling it an “Act of Espionage.” Previous maneuvers by Russia’s Olymp-K have caused serious concern and a number of classified meetings by the U.S. Department of Defense. 1 Like
