SmartPolician:You are absolutely correct The more women earn and fight for equality with men, it comes at a cost of fewer available men for them…. That’s why so many single independent ladies in western world It all come down to sacrifice… career and success but living as a single independent woman, now some get lucky and find good men, but majority are single and doing all girls trips…. No man available for them |

Gerrard59:Very handsome or physically attractive men also enjoy an advantage in the sexual or mating market. When women reach a certain level of financial security they start putting more emphasis on male looks. The statistics have been crunched, dating apps have made everything clear. It's not a woman's world, it a world of the wealthy & physically attractive. On a composite where [wealth + good looks} = 20, those with a score of 18 are the champions of the sex market. It's not theory, it's real. Such people have endless OPTIONS, they live in a different world. Also beautiful people for obvious reasons tend to have high levels of sexual activity and that comes with certain risks. Good Luck to Nigerians. |

Women are good but they are too emotional, men are still way better than them (women) in handling crisis in all this profession's,women's ultimate goal is to be like men, but they always fail to grasp the responsibilities that comes with being a Man,when and if such responsibilities are dumped on them, they lose composure very fast |

spiceadole:There is money, but it takes a long time to amass compared to newer fields. That is the issue with medicine, and since men are still regarded as providers, they have to invest their energies into areas which produce quicker returns. Medicine isn't one of such. |

KingWarri:The thing about modern women is that they not might dominate those areas, but they target the high earning divisions in those professions. Also, they target the non-physical aspects. So we have women as CFOs of oil companies, but few of them on the rigs. Women as HR personnel and accounting in those sectors, but never doing the brawny aspects. |

IbeOkehie:In a society like Nigeria, how many men are physically attractive? It is good that you used the phrase "physically attractive" rather than just handsome. Also, in the same Nigeria, how many women are willing to marry men who might be facially handsome but financially incapable and be the major provider, notwithstanding the cultural intricacies? It's not a woman's world, it a world of the wealthy & physically attractive. On a composite where [wealth + good looks} = 20, those with a score of 18 are the champions of the sex market. It's not theory, it's real. Such people have endless OPTIONS, they live in a different world.Agreed. I am curious, for people in that category, in the long run, who comes out on top? Also beautiful people for obvious reasons tend to have high levels of sexual activity and that comes with certain risks.Agreed. Thank God for the White man inventing an effective treatment for HIV. I look forward to more discoveries for other maladies. |

Women thrive well in any profession that's phisically undemanding, where there are organized structure and hierarchy and in most 8 to 5 jobs, problem is that when they get to management level that requires man management and taking complex decisions they are found wanting, they can aggressive, unnecessarily tough, slow and shy away from taking risks even where they are necessary, they slow things down annoyingly |

SmartPolician:If they marry down, most of their men would feel emasculated. So they can as well be mothers without being wives. |
| Re: 7 Careers Nigerian Women Dominate That Were Once Male-only by SmartPolician(op): 7:58am On Sep 26, 2025 |
Mindlog:Bros, take it from me - women are not wired to take charge of domestic responsibilities but men are. In fact, the happiness of a man comes from having the capacity to take care of his family. On the flipside, the happiness of a woman comes from having someone who gives and gives and keeps giving her. TBH, it's not their fault. That's because they are wired to play their traditional role in the family - taking care of their home while the man provides. So, if you ever make a woman fend for the home while the man is there, all hell will be let lose. That's why it is said that a man will take care of his family for 20 years and everyone will be happy. But if the situation flips and the woman does it for one day, the entire community will know. In summary, women will always find it extremely difficult to marry a man who won't be providing while she uses the money she makes to do whatever she likes. That's why they say, My money is my money, while my husband's money is our money. |

Women have taken over everything now. The drive was to empower women, they are now empowered, while the men have taken a back seat. In a few years to come, the new agenda will be to empower men, because men will be marginalised very soon. |

Education for women is good but it has come at the expense of marriage and family. In the past when women had little education, marriages were more stable, mother's were mostly housewives or petty traders and have enough time for there children and they raised sound and morally upright children. But that's no longer the case, educated women especially career ones, with there feminist tendencies no longer see the need to submit to there husbands since they earn for themselves and can do without them, some see no need for marriage,a lot because of pursuit of career are past child bearing age, some even when married with children have abdicated there motherhood to maids. I prefer the good old days when our women were happily married and had enough time to raise wonderful children |

Gerrard59:Hmmm. Na wa o. 1a) Physically beautiful or handsome persons are rare or at least a minority in EVERY country, not just Nigeria. Surely there's some men in Nigeria that most Nigerian women...or ANY woman...would consider attractive. Physical beauty is determined chiefly by PROPORTIONS, as in bilateral symmetry and Fibonacci ratios. Beyond that or in combination with that...the characteristic that most attracts females is to be TALL. About 15% of adult males in the USA are over 6ft tall and that alone solves a lot of mystery about the sex market. The main indices of male attractiveness in the USA are the 666...6ft tall, 6 figure income and 6 pack abs...though the 6pack is actually a stand in for the PROPORTIONS mentioned earlier. Again research done with dating apps confirm all these things. It's not speculation, anyone can relate it to their own experience or social circle 1b) This depends on the the RESOURCE SECURITY of the woman. I know MANY women with high levels of financial security who have married poorer men, both in Nigeria and the USA. There's a good friend of mine whose father is very handsome. The mother is not beautiful at all but she is from a wealthy family. My friend himself makes jokes about it ![]() One egregious but THANKFULLY public case is one of the Assad daughters in Syria. Anyone can check it out. There's also 2 fairly well known Nigerian females in this USA, both physicians, one of them that I worked with, who clearly married their husbands for looks. In short FEMALE HYPERGAMY is about RESOURCES, both socio-economic AND genetic. Genes are arguably the more valuable of the 2. 2) Hmmm. Interesting question. 3) I've been a healthcare worker for over 20 years. HIV isn't the only incurable STD. Beautiful people tend to have higher rates of STD. Fact. It's very important to have self control when it comes to beautiful people. Realism is key. Anyway to the subject of the post, women are having exactly the kinds of outcomes expected as brain based work becomes more common. It's logical. When it comes to IQ, more women are at the average while there's more men at the extreme highs and lows. Nature or God made it that way. Good Luck to Nigerians. |
