Extramarital dating app, Gleeden recently conducted a survey titled "Why do women commit adultery" and tried analysing the reasons why married women in India cheat on their husbands. One of the shocking findings of this research claim that seven out of 10 women cheat on their husbands because they do not contribute in household chores.

Here are all the other details of the study:

The app has over five hundred thousand subscribers in India and over five million users across the globe. Going by the statistics, seven out of 10 women step into an extramarital affair because their marriage has turned monotonous.

Interestingly, this research pointed that metropolitan cities like Mumbai, Delhi and Kolkata had the maximum number of women who cheated on their husband because they were bored or were fed up with their husbands for not helping them in household chores.

This extramarital dating app came to India in 2017 and as per their claims, 30 per cent of its users are married females in the age group of 34-49 years.

Around 77 per cent of the married women confessed that they cheated on their partners because their marriage had become monotonous and having an extramarital affair helped them to add spice to their lives.

Among the 500,000 users, 20 per cent men and 13 per cent women accepted they were cheating on their partners. Also, around 48 per cent Indian women who decided to have an extramarital affair preferred to meet someone new on a dating app because the platform offers safety and privacy.

The research also talked about the increasing number of homosexual people who were forced into traditional marriages and are now finding their same-sex partners on the app.

The survey might have provided some compelling statistics but do these findings hold true for the entire Indian society. The sample size of this study is just 500,000 and represents only a fraction of India's population which is over 1.3 Billion.

Plus, the research is based only on their users but not on married women who are not on dating apps or don't have a smartphone.
