Things are falling apart in Nigeria. It's really getting out of hand.
Re: Lagos Officials Continue Plaza Demolition At Trade Fair Market (Video) by cyberbro: 2:22am On Sep 26, 2025
My major concern here is: did the owners and engineers in charge of the buildings obtain approval from the Lagos state government or not? If they obtained the right approval and didn't violate and building code, then this is pure injustice and they have a right to sue the government.

But if they didn't get the necessary approval and continued building up to this level, then I am not sorry for the owners.

Why do some of you talk like this? Is Lagos a jungle for the bolded in your post to be the norm?

In this day and age, it is easy to establish building approval validity. We are not in 1826 bro. Many Nigerians are casually and wantonly dishonest.

They are shady and love cutting corners. That's the real issue. Period.

Things are falling apart because illegal structures are being demolished? In which nation of the world will illegal structures not be demolished once it is established said structure had no valid building approval?

In the UK for example, you will be instructed to demolish an extension to your own house if you deviate from original building approval talk less of constructing a structure with fake building approval or even none at all which I know Nigerians are brazen enough to do.

Nigerians need to stop victim-pretence over every development. Especially when wrongdoers are quick to cite 'victimisation' over repercussions of their own irresponsible and lawless conduct.

the question is why spend millions to build a house when you know it will be demolished.
Then secondly what constitutes illegal structure ? Person suffer build house you call am illegal structure. Don't just defend any government move you might be a victim of the injustice you support. Is it proper for government to just demolish random houses and call them illegal structure

What are you yapping about.? There is no atom of reason in your gaslighting. What are you even addressing ?

The person you quoted made his point clear: that if the builders obtained the necessaty approvals and observed the rules and regulations, and the LASG still went ahead to demolish what they initially approved, then that is a grave injustice

You write things that have no meaning because you are still standing on Tinubu's mandate

What do you mean by Jungle ? Did the post you are referring mention Lagos as a Jungle ?

Did the post you are alluding to call the Lagos government shady ? What is with 1826 ?, dishonest who ?

This is how the hatred and jealousy against our neigbours from the East breeds and against my people from the ND who you folks always call out to look like our neigbours.

Continue masking the jealousy, wickedness and tribalism in the name of 1826, shady and dishonest

Government has told us those structures are illegal, if you have otherwise prove, post your approval certificate, I will even assign a lawyer yu defend you.

We didn't hear all these sermon when Soludo, Otti was demolishing in SE.

It is one thing to be hated, but it is a far greater tragedy to hate yourself. The wise Igbo are already channeling their strength and wealth into Aba, building a future on their own soil. Any Igbo still pouring their sweat into Lagos is in desperate need of awakening. Even the scriptures remind us: lay up your treasures where nothing can corrupt or consume them.

Is Trade fair Complex a LASG zone? All the Noise of buffer zone is totally irrelevant.

I don't care sef ..

I want you to demolish more and more ..the needed sentiments have been triggered to the highest levels. Those that shout 1 NIGERIA are now seeing it in full effects.

There is NO turning back . cool

You don't know these Alausa LASG officials. You can't renovate a house in LASG without them coming over with their red paint to tell you to stop work and site a flimsy excuse. Even when you pay for whatever is needed and issued paperwork from LASG another official will disregard it and demolish the structure.

Anyway..I love how it's going on ..

It awakens sleeping 1 NIGERIA dreamers.

They should demolish more.!!!

I've replied you but so called "bot ban" took it out yet your emotional tirade above was allowed to remain. Read the screenshot. You people are now protected species here courtesy of some partisan moderating.

Anyway, make all the noise you want. Sane people understand the central point and know those always crying wolf unfairly and deceitfully against LASG and Tokunboh Wahab etal. Even your political messiah too is guilty as charged.

Well-said Sir. Same point I made initially yet he was hyperventilating per how the guilty run around when no one is chasing them.

Did we not go through this recently when one of their kinsman, a lawyer, insisted Tokunbo Wahab was acting illegally demolishing properties in Lekki that had valid document with the insinuation, as is same for all of them, that Wahab was targeting Igbo properties on purpose.

Wahab challenged same guy to present valid documents since he insisted they existed. The chap said he would. Deadline Wahab gave elapsed and no one heard from the chap again.

That is how they roll. Quick to malign and demonize the character of others out of paranoia and bitterness. Lagos has no power to act dictatorially because valid documents will defeat any illegal action of Lagos in Court so why will the state engage in such?

Yet they alone, of the many ethnic group in Lagos, will claim their property worth "billions" is being demolished illegally.

Did their political God not even do same recently in Ikeja claiming the country was sliding into lawlessness over a matter with a valid judgement in a competent Nigerian court? Tiring bro

You're being clever by half. Try that with others. Not me. Point, again, being that you are citing a scenario that is not possible in Lagos today. You should know that.

Lagos cannot arbitrarily demolish property that are not in violation because the State is exemplarily law-abiding in all it's conduct and goes the extra mile to get court orders for all it does.

A reasonable adult should no cite impractical scenarios because doing such is mischievous.

You're the one who has comprehension challenges. Learn to think and talk like an adult.

Even probability in statistics, i.e the likelihood of an event occurring, should be quantifiable. Not virtually impossible, and thus not worth mentioning, as the scenario you stated.

@ DatNiggaDaz

You won't berate the chap above, old enough to know better, waxing biblical and insinuating Igbo "treasures" will be "corrupted" or "consumed" in Lagos.

Yet when Yorubas (the main victim of Igbos persecution complex, paranoia and bitterness) speak to defend themselves from ungracious, outlandish and character-damaging accusations you wil begin hyperventilating.

If even a few of you are fair you'd see the point I made from the very start and those responsible for always causing friction.

Crystal clear Lagos follows the law to the letter. Yet one ethnic group alone feigns innocence always to accuse the State of "targeting" them unjustly every single time this demolition issue arises..

If any of you have a reasonable bone in you then you'd have enough decency to note why Yorubas are gradually becoming fed up of your gaslighting and demonization antics.

Good. Because Lagos will keep demolishing buildings and market. Just as Peter Obi demolished on Anambra during his era.

How can all these fine standard buildings be without any govt authorized planning? Lagos has become the nemesis of igbo investors i rreally pity igbos who are still insisting on investing and doing their business in lagos after all these demolitions this is a clear message from the lagos govt that you are not wanted here only fools will still see all these and ignore it.

Igbos should learn to bring their investments back home where it's safe and won't be pulled down out of hate and envy.

My people don't want to learn, but surely they'll learn the very hard way.
