It's one thing to get court judgement but it's another thing to enforce it

This is a watershed ruling but will the rogue officers comply with the judgement?
They will not pay him and the Court will do nothing about it.

There are numerous such cases and the paramilitary agencies involved didn't pay any kobo.

The country needs to look into it.

They don't pay except there is a garnishee order which one might not get from the court.
A judgement debt against a govt agency do require the AG of the state or federation to sign off on it, which they don't do except govt is having an interest in the case.
There are so many judgement debt not paid till date.
This ruling can only be enforced if it's against the officers but it's against their employer which is the FG

The two prison warders must have seen themselves as military heads of state in a 3rd World country because they were wearing para military uniforms.

Slapping another person is a crimina offence in good countries.

They likely will not, what the will do is to appeal the judgment all the way to the Supreme Court. Last last the lawyer will get his money only it will take time. At the rate naira is being devalued, getting value for his money is another thing.
I sued foreign owned company for 45m+ when naira was 150 to $1, it took me 8 years to get judgement in my favor. They apealed and that has gone now for 2 years with no end in sight, likely they will go as far as the supreme court, by then the money may be worth nothing.
Look at it this way, in 2015, 45m was $300k, today it is $30k.
Terrible. I think you should amend your suit and seek for damages to the equivalent of the then 45m which is 300k USD today. It is only fair

Good judgment. In a sane clime how dare ordinary prison warder slapping anyone talkless a lawyer?

They should pay the money with public apology.

Police is the next.

This is a watershed moment. But 8 think the institution they belong to should be the one to bear the cost and not them.

The elevation to Life Bencher is based on a candidate's distinguished legal career, which includes factors such as:
Upholding Professional Integrity: A track record of high ethical conduct and respect for the integrity of the profession.
Prominent Experience: Extensive and senior experience, often as a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) or a distinguished judicial officer.
Significant Contribution: Evidence of meaningful contributions to the development of the Nigerian legal system.

It's hard to enforce judgement against law enforcement agencies in Nigeria

As a Governor he facilitated and built a law school in Rivers state and handed it to the Federal government , one of the best in Nigeria and also houses for judges.... Isn't that a significant contribution to d Nigerian legal system? He also gave the judiciary in Rivers financial autonomy... How many states have that.....
