First thing first, after the burial, let them start getting across to his contacts, Whatsapp, banks and co. Check if he's owing anyone or any entity. That should be your first priority. Do a comprehensive check on this please. If he's owing be committed to paying it off for him. Either from his money or look for a way. If he's not owing, that's one big relief.

Secondly, tell Dad and others to immediately organize prayers for him. Prioritize the following:

—Suratul Ikhlas;
—Suratul Mulk;
—Suratul Yasin;

Then others should also follow. On your own too, seek forgiveness for him as much as you can.

Third do charity on his behalf either communal based ones like portable water, or so. If you are not that buoyant, please do smaller one like food donations, money (no matter how little, to his credit).

Do this as frequently as you can. Faith is very important here because, we know that the earth is not the only plane of existence. As a matter of fact, earth is like 0.01, the 99.99 of our existence is otherworldly. And a day is coming where we'll definitely see our loved ones again. But seeing them in a good station is of high-priority.

And if he's not a Muslim, the best way to honor his memory by through charity, no matter how little.

Everyone that has breath now will experience same fate some days on the planet earth but could be in another form however death is death , no one knows the time, the kind of death and place of death . It is wise to always leave our every day as if it's the last by making things right with our maker because death could strike anything in any place and after that is judgement Hebrews 9:27. Therefore we should make things right now with Him by giving our life to Christ 2 Corinthians 5:17.

Debt is something that's not to be trifled with. Both Muslims and Christians believe that there's life after death. Then what makes you think that you'll escape justice and not pay back if you owe anyone?

God forgives, but is every human capable of forgiving? What makes you think that if you hold on to someone's wealth and you don't pay back, you'll be left off the hook? God is Just.

No matter what you believe in, if you don't pay back now, you'll DEFINITELY pay it later, and you won't be paying with fiat currency then, but a far more precious currency. That's why I advised that if there's any debt on ground, he'll be doing his beloved brother a great service if it's paid either from the deceased's wealth or he finds a way to offset it.

I understand your situation, I lost an elder first and younger brother after both in their 40s/30s and ,its has not been easy. The pains will continously be there...alot will keep coming emotionally especially when you see siblings hanging out together,you have to create a space to keep moving on,Life will just have to go on
