EXCLUSIVE: Arsenal centre-back William Saliba has agreed a new contract with the club.

The 24-year-old’s new deal is expected to be signed in the coming days.

The Athletic reported in May that Arsenal had opened contract talks with Saliba in the hope of retaining him beyond June 2027, when his existing terms expire.

Saliba had been the subject of interest from Real Madrid, but said in March he was happy at Arsenal and wanted to win trophies with the north London club. Arsenal’s last piece of silverware was the FA Cup they won in 2020.

Asked whether he will sign a new contract in July, the Frenchman said: “Yes, hopefully — of course there is nothing now but there is a good conversation with my agent and the club. Let’s see.” - David Ornstein

Arsenal's squad depth dey pain rival fans to their bone marrow grin. You were expecting to see a bunch of unknown academy players in yesterday's match but the squad you saw shock you.

FYI 8 of those players in yesterday's match are not regular starters. Saka and Saliba started because they just got back from injury and need to build up their form. Eze was played out of position deep in the midfield. At the end of the day, the match was an experiment, the players that played didn't over exert themselves because of the highly physical match on the weekend.

When we said our 2nd 11 can beat a lot of teams 1st 11, you think we were capping?

A waste of 700 passes. With the defenders having over 60% of the total passes tonight

AGAINST PORT VALE. A TEAM with fans so happy to see Arsenal play them that despite losing, none of them left their seats to go home!!! The last 20 mins was more a joy to watch than the 70mins prior. Eyesore to me. What's the main reason he got Norgaard though?

Leo scored and thanked Gyokeres immediately for creating space for him. Dowman got his moment and Gyo dragged 3 shirts with him to get space to shoot. Na Nwaneri las las shoot.

Leo and Dowman with their deep diagonal wing passes
to their 9 to be free at goal>>>

We let them get into the game. A more technical team can adopt the way Port Vale pressed to reduce our passing lanes. They already detect how our Defenders rotate the ball L-R and they really did well for a l1 team to frustrate that aspect of our game. This L-R style, we gats bin it in the attacking 3rd. A team like Vale were as comfortable as Liverpool and Bilbao as we recycled the ball. Smh
Tactically avoiding criticizing your MCM. He missed a 1v1.

How is it that you easily criticise others even when they do relatively well but avoid criticising your MCM?

So you expect Arteta to leave the bench of quality players and go and bring in academy players because they're facing a lower division team? We didn't, he fielded the exact players we expected him to. The game plan was to go there, not over stress themselves too much and win with one or 2 goals and they did just that

It's portsvale you're playing not southHampton..

Bro .. the likes of downman deserves a start 😋😋😋

Even bottom table wolves will not start their 2nd team against a portsvale

Lol. I will when his misses outweighs the normal chances created for him. He did his part for the goals. Isn't that what you personally love?

I just watched your fraudulent MCM lose again, this time against Orlando. He is now winless in 6 games!

2 points out of a possible 18.

LMAO. You think that wasn't deliberate? Have you watched Harry Kane well enough to know that many strikers do exact that across several games in Europe or you think it's one stupid move to be positioned offside? Lewandoski? Even Haaland sometimes. Na you suppose go study games abeg. Open eyes ke? When his time come na me gangan go blast am. Unless you're not paying attention since last 2-3seasons on this thread.

For heaven's sake, the least you needed to do if you weren't sure of what he did there was to simply listen to the commentators during that very goal and pundits after the game. 😂😂😂
Spy spy. Why why why??

This is hilarious.

But no problem.

Since you say that Gyokeres' position was deliberately offside, so then never ever again complain that he doesn't get assistance.

Let him be staying deliberately offside o. Then you praise him for it. 😂

You're the one that's tiring abeg. I'll repeat what i typed earlier. if you at least heard what the commentators and pundits said about that very moment, you no go dey do all this yakiti yakiti you dey do right now. You act like he's always offside. You'll rather fixate on that one to drive home your own bias than focus on how even Legends of Arsenal are talking about how the team is playing asif he's not on the pitch. If he was getting services and wasting them like Kai and Martinelli, that's another thing entirely. But kontunu jare. No be you?

😂

Did I oppose you?

I simply said since Gyokeres is right according to you, don't ever complain again of service or that no one is creating chances for him.

You complained of no service. But Eze was there throughout the second half and yet no service. And when Eze created a chance your man was in no man's land. And to you he is in the right place.

So don't ever complain again.

You cannot start blaming Eze for no chances created.
