Yes,but quite agree with your submission, in as much as I appreciate effort Dangote has put into Nigeria economy, regarding oil business it's like we want to kill subsidy to birth and nurture a monopoly.

Government need to be very careful with Dangote
As it is today, the government will only act on what favours them. And by them I mean the most powerful in government individually. People that remove subsidy then go ahead to propose taxing the stuff will have no qualms about how much Dangote may sell his goods tomorrow.

Just allow importation and allow Dangote sell his crude anywhere, any price or currency he wishes!!!!

Just break this monopoly.

Let this man not put the economy back into coma. His greediness is becoming too much.

OK na, we are saying the same thing. If he can sell his products at whatever amount he wants, then he should stop blackmailing nnpc with selling crude to him at cheaper prices na. Let him buy at the price others are buying and sell how much he wants to sell na

I love the way u guys love him, somebody owing your country billions of naira. Patriotic indeed, mining cheap limestone and selling costly cement
How much is BUA and others selling cement? If Dangote was the problem then why are his competitors not selling cheaper or they don't like money to like Ameachi?

Yeah selling cement at the price it is is justified na. As I said u only know dangote online, I know his business far beyond what is online. Obviously you don't know how dangote is fighting BUA tooth and nail
And you don't also know why BUA stepped back from his massive price cut.

Let's keep supporting dangote na.

Gadget resellers are in the retail market segment, and they sell their gadgets in Naira equivalent to the dollar using black market rate. Dangote buys oil from NNPC in dollars, same NNPC imports petrol (subsidized) and competes with the refinery to sell in Naira, makes no sense.

Assetosky:
Those people that import gadgets from abroad to Nigeria buys with which currency?
Re: Dangote Refinery Suspends Petrol Sales In Naira by blaise26abj(m): 2:23pm On Sep 27, 2025
AMINDA:
So, Dangote should source for dollars and import crude oil from overseas and then refine and sell to Nigerians in naira? Is he Father Christmas? Why is Tinubu failing to fully support Dangote by selling him crude in naira? That was an agreement he reached with the Buhari government before investing in a refinery. Nigeria's importation of less pure Malta-refined crude is still hitting astronomical numbers, while Dangote is constrained to export refined crude outside the country. No be juju be that?
The issue is the exchange. If he buys in dollars , he should continue to sell in dollars . I feel the reason he wants to control the distribution is to control price until he gets to the discharge point . With his trucks he can only sell at the discharge point or tell you the price you buy is not final until point of discharge to take care of dollar fluctuations.
Now knowing the antics of Dangote , especially in the cement industry , he will run a good monopoly very soon . The only real fight he will have is when other private refineries come into operations . But by then he would have a big competitive advantage over new entrants to the business . Business is business at the end of the day

The currency is really irrelevant though. Most breweries in the country import in forex and sell in naira. Steel mills import in forex and sell in naira but when nnpc have oil for the refinery they should sell in naira as before

All of them are using high interest loans to operate. Check their ownership structure. Lafarge might be able to crash the price but they also have to fear inflation as they are not local investors. The only way cement price can come down to international price is if they sell those loans to local investors or if local investors set up new plants with equity instead of loans

Just jumping into threads with baseless arguments.

It was Tinubu government that had agreement with Dangote in naira for crude.

Show evidence that it was buhari. Don't be like that agulu ma, please.

Here you go. I know you will disappear like the fart of a leprous witch. Greed and backend deals from Malta will just not allow your favourites to prioritise the progress and welfare of Nigerians.

Dangote and monopoly, why would he sell petrol in dollars on Nigerian soil. Other companies that imports raw materials in dollars, do they sell their products here in dollars?

See the kind of people I share a country with.
No wonder you guys keeps voting incompetent leaders.
Do you know why he doesn't want to sell on naira?? It's cos nnpc doesn't want to sell in naira to him..
How can a government agency be charging it's citizens in foreign currencyhuhhuh.
You go to port to clear your goods, they charge you in dollars even nnpc too.
The issue is that the cabals in nnpc and in the government who imports fuel doesn't want Dangote fuel to be cheaper that was why they at first set a sell price for him that he should never sell below certain amount per liter and yet want to frustrate him with dollars for crude oil

The govt is behind the problems Dangote is facing , govt cronies lead by their chairman are hell bent on continuing the fuel importation fraud ...

They don't want Dangote to have an idea of the true daily fuel consumption of the country which has been used to milk this country of 100s of billions of dollars
a very nice point.it looks like the final battle between dangote and those cabal.

GOVERNANCE IN NIGERIA IS A COCOON OF CHAOS. EVERYONE IS LAWLESS, STARTING FROM MOTOR PARK TOUTS, ALL THROUGH THE SOCIO-POLITICO ECONOMIC STRATA TO THOSE OPERATING AT THE HIGHEST LEVELS OF THE LADDER. THIS IS A CLASSICAL INDICTMENT OF THE NATIONAL LEADERSHIP! A SOCIETY DRIVEN BY LEADERSHIP WITH NEGATIVE IMPACTS AND IMPARTS ON THE PEOPLE IS BOUND TO BE LAWLESS, BECAUSE BAD LEADERSHIP INFLUENCES AND PROMOTES SELFISHNESS, AN INNATE TRAIT OF HUMANS, TO A DOMINANT LEVEL THAT DICTATES THE INDIVIDUALS ' ACTIONS IN THE SOCIETY. THE OUTCOME IS LAWLESSNESS IN A JUNGLE!

THE DEPLOYMENT OF THE LEVERS OF MIGHT IN THE POLITICAL AND ECONOMIC CIRCLES BY THE SUCCESSIVE LEADERSHIPS IN NIGERIA SYSTEMATICALLY CREATED THE CHAOS THAT HAVE BECOME THE SIGNATURE OF NIGERIANS AND NIGERIA. THE QUALITY OF GOVERNANCE IS A VARIABLE DETERMINED BY THE QUALITY OF VISION, MISSION, AND COMMISSION OF THE PRESIDING LEADERSHIP. WHAT DO YOU EXPECT WHEN POLITICAL CAMPAIGNS ARE NOT BASED ON ISSUES BUT ON RELIGIOUS AND TRIBAL SENTIMENTS? HOW DO YOU EXPECT NATIONAL PROSPERITY WHEN LEADERS THINK OF WHAT TO DO ONLY AFTER SECURING POWER AT ALL COSTS?

I HAVE SAID IT SEVERAL TIMES THAT, BECAUSE OF THE ENORMOUS CONSTITUTIONAL POWERS CONFERRED ON THE PRESIDENCY, IT IS ONLY THE PRESIDENT OF NIGERIA WHO CAN DRIVE THE REBIRTH OF NIGERIA THROUGH LEADERSHIP BY EXAMPLE. I PRAY THAT GOD TOUCHES THE HEART OF PRESIDENT TINUBU AND IMPARTS HIM WITH WISDOM TO CREATE THE DIFFERENCE THAT NIGERIANS HAVE BEEN YEARNING FOR. UNTIL THEN, LET US HOPE FROM HOPELESSNESS!

Hope you'll ask FG to also wade into the deliberate hault of products to the refinery by the so called unions.

Everybody go hear am, because he'll need dollars to import his products.

helinues:
FG better wade in into this. This will create unnecessary demand for dollar which might cause scarcity as the opportunists would take advantage of it including the bankers

Dangote just sell your oil in peace and stop creating problems where there are none. Nobody is competing the richest Blackman in the world with you!

I will continue to wish you all the best sir but you see that monopoly you are looking for in the oil industry, lie-lie you won't get it!
