Pengasson is capping. Real capping. Why should unionization be made compulsory? Why?

They can go ahead and do their worst and Dangote should call off their bluff. Because on this,I support Dangote 100percent
You support Dangote for sacking 800 Nigerian employees and replacing them with Indians. You literally mean this.
Re: Dangote: PENGASSAN To Embark On Nationwide Strike On Monday by LZAA: 7:09am On Sep 28, 2025
PENGASSAN said the prayer vigil should focus on asking God to give leaders the courage to compel Dangote and his associates to obey the laws of the country.

Now i do not like Dangote's dangerous monopolies but you see this bolded statement is a key reason why we are in a mess
Prayer while embarking on a strike that makes no sense to no one is just evil
A man built a refinery and you want to him to bow to you willy nilly after he has seen the massive fraud your organization has a huge hand in that industry?
As they say nowadays...

Dangote has blocked all the loop holes these people used in making money and making life of Nigerians miserable but they want things go bad for their selfish interest. Niferua is bigger than pengassen members union

If PENGASSON and their cohorts aren't saboteurs
While will you write to stop crude and gas supply
To a private refinery
Threaten nation wide strike
Over issues that can cause products volatility
Why not go to industrial court to seek redress
No ultimatum given
All these brags is over a private refinery

Wht message you they passing
To investors

After spending billions to build university
ASUU now drags my lecturers to join
And wants them on strike
Unfortunately this can never happen in any Nigerian private universities
It only happens in oil and gas

I don't reel insults, if you do that as in your previous post, I will have you reported
The same strike is what got you minimum wage, the same strike has been the only language understood in Nigeria
And the same strike will be used get justice for workers sacked unjustly

PENGASSAN is our enemy and the people must rise up against it. When refineries were not working and their members were being paid for doing no work and our economy was bleeding under the fraudulent subsidy scheme PENGASSAN said and did nothing. Now that a citizen built a refinery and things are getting better they greedily want check off dues from his refinery and are ready to sabotage our economy just for that purpose!
Then how can you rise against it?

So much ignorance in one post. Most Nigerians like to comment on what they know absolutely nothing about.

NNPC doesn't issue license to refineries, infact they are competitors with Dangote refinery.

Secondly, unionization of workers isn't a privilege, rather it's the worker's right guaranteed in our constitution and also in compliance with the ILO(International Labor Organization) regulation.

We have IOCs operating in Nigeria where we have PENGASSAN as a union.

Harmony and progress have always been sustained. Why does Dangote feel that he can hire and fire Nigerians arbitrarily?

Are they slaves to only be spoken to? Who does that?

Fire Nigerians as if they are in a labor camp? Come on guys, Nigerians can't be treated that way abroad and be treated the same way in their God given land.

This act shall be resisted to the end. Unionization of Nigerian workers doesn't mean death to the organization.

This is evident in other IOCs who have been operating in Nigeria for over 50yrs and have had their workers unionized.

If Dangote doesn't have ulterior motives, why is he afraid of the Union?

Not like any confrontation has taken place yet. Let him go back to the dialogue table and discuss.
All of you keeps saying he's defying the law... Then why not take him to court? If you're sure he has broken a law or laws, is the next step not to sue him to court?

If you have a company and your staff trying to bring you down do you allow them bring down the company or sack them. There are 3000 ngeria workers in dangote refinery atm

When has it become a law that Private companies must unionize. Which Nigerian constitution give provision for such. huh
Right to free association is enshrined in our constitution.

Joining Pengassan should not be compulsory. They are overreaching if they are insisting that must happen. Also now they are crossing lines where the Presidency must step in.

How did the Indians get license to work in Nigeria? You do realise that there is a foreign quota for companies. I doubt they will hire 800 Indians.

This was the kind of power that once entered the head of NLC and today has lost the potency of their strike.
They want other businesses to shut down because of problem in their own sector. Dead on arrival.

We should shut down the nation and others must be punished because their members were fired? Does that make sense? Is that how strikes are to be used to punish citizens?

DSS must arrest and prosecute everyone of them! No economic sector should serve as government and if they have issues in their sector, especially private businesses that are in it for profit, it is commercial business related, they should take it to the court like National Industrial Court or for Arbitration.

Shutting down the national is unacceptable, treasonous and an attempt to sabotage the national economy. Federal Government must not surrender power to just few privileged business sector.

Here in Lagos, we will not be part of the unpatriotic call for destroying the businesses of others. Go to court. When it was rosy, you were all smiling and popping champagne, resolve your problems as businesses do. Don't drsg us by force into your businesses
You're asking DSS to go against the Law. Dangote Sacks his employees simply for joining a Union (which is their constitutional rights) and you're asking DSS to arrest the Union. Does that makes sense to you. Go and read section 40 of Nigeria Constitution and Nigeria labour act 2004.

The reason for sacking them was joining a Union. Is joining a Union against the law? As an employer you don't have power to go against the law of the land, which grant employees every right to or not join any Union of their trade.

Dangote must obey the laws of the Land. Workers in the Petroleum industry must be allowed to be unionized.

Dangote is not above Nigerian Law. He must run his refinery within the jurisdiction of the employment laws in Nigeria.

He should never be allowed to have the say alone and monopolize the sectorr like he did in cement sector
apart from monthly union dues what is benefit of so called unions?

As an investor
You build a very big hospital
Or university
That stabilized the nation

Suddenly ASUU
Said your lecturers should join strike
Or NMA said your doctors shouldn't work.

Let's reason it out
With ASUU /doctors or nurses strikes
Do private universities or hospitals go on strike
Answer is NO
Does it mean they are not protected by their union

PENGASSON NUPENG,
Encroached these guys for reasons best known to upset their employer
They target is to ground things,
Raise the petrol price which is expected in few days so that their petrol station jerk up prices and they make gains from Nigeria as usual

Do you know
These economic sabotage are usually timed when
Things appears better, Naira is stable approaching 1400, Petrol is down 865. LPG 920

Suddenly all PENGASSON leaders filling Station will cause chaos and raise their prices

who suffers, the people
Who gains independent marketers
Its all a set up to maximize gains by same cabals who will never allow a drop of fuel refined from the NNPC

For anyone who thinks Dangote want to monopolize all
Tell PENGASSON and NUPENG
TO build their own refineries and compete not to bring down what is a respite at the moment

Now
For
Any foreign investor in oil and gas especially towards building refineries
Or even mechanized agriculture
How do they get courage seeing how NNPC, PENGASSON, NUPENG, DAPPMAN, IPMAN are dealing with dangote.

NNPC delayed license to start
Later they said dangote fuel has Sulphur
Later they denied their truck drivers
Stopped supply of crude, he had to buy elsewhere
Later stopped naira for crude

Yet
FG
Watches in limbo
Don't mind the people supporting them

I don't think unionisation should be mandatory, especially in the private sectors .

It should be optional and the employers should let the employees know that they will not entertain unionisation for what ever reason before employing them.
So that anyone taking the job will know he/she will not be joining any labour union.
I believe government will never ask dangote to shut down his refinery if he insisted he won't allow his employees to join any union.
How many people does the government employ?
Are you saying that the majority of workers who are employed by the private sector should not be protected from exploitative actions of the Capitalists?

Rants.
If Dangote get sense , e for allow room for dialogue, calling their bluff is not good
These guys can cripple his investments and his rivals would be too glad if that happens
Government won't intervene
He better know the oil industry is not like the flour or sugar industry where he can go about bullying everybody
This is lame, calling their bluff is the more prudent thing to do. It is the heart of his business that counts not intimidation tactics of pengassan which will fail if Dangote approaches foreign sources for crude supplies.

More progress to Alhaji Aliko Dangote, the man of the people and friend of Nigerian masses. Alhaji Dangote means we'll for the nation but these hawks are trying to sabotage his efforts. May Alhaji Dangote live long and prosper and forge ahead to deal with these clowns.

The law gives workers the rights to join unions but it does not force employers to employ workers who are in unions meaning an employer can decide not to employ members of union and it will not be termed illegal by any court.

Pengassan don't need dues from any dangote refinery. That's the wealthiest union in Nigeria you are talking about. You think someone earning 5million per month really needs the dues of a 300k salary earner. Na wa oooo
Why not employ the sacked workers, if they are so wealthy?
