Hello house, the embassy is requesting for declaration of age as deposed by your parents or head of family.. What do they mean by this?

Trust you are doing well today. Out of curiosity, only the documents mentioned in the checklist are require,d right? Specificall,y the original documents and some photocopies, things like the hosting agreement, health insurance are not to be printed since i already uploaded them right?. I got an AD for monday.

I am asking so I do not get any surprises. Thank you.

Basically, the Declaration of Age in Nigeria is a sworn affidavit, also known as a Statutory Declaration of Age, used as proof of age when a birth certificate is unavailable for purposes like school admission, obtaining a passport, or registering for other official documents.

"Deposed by your parents or head of family" means they are they are the ones to attest to that.

Your brother was born before December 1992, and on the checklist, if you were given birth to before 1992, the birth certificate will not cover, it is a declaration of age, so that's why your brother is required to submit it.

So stick to the information they require from you in the mail sent by the embassy.

Please in a situation a person has 2 birth certificate one in 2016 and 2017, the person uploaded the one of 2017 for their application and later realise that she cant find the hard the copy of the 2017, her interview is on monday and she want to take along the 2016 birth certificate and make affidavit for the 2017 own that she cant find the hard copy.

Please is this advisable?

good day guys
i’m in a quite dilemmatic situation
i recently gained admission to a university in germany for my masters (summer 2026), but i haven’t applied for visa because i'm still working on sorting out the proof of funds part.

i just begun application for the DAAD scholarship for 2026 session but i don’t think it will be ready before summer 2026. also the waiting time for visa takes close to two years for approval. my school says admission cannot be deferred.

what can i do please?🙏

In a situation whereby the school does not support deferral at all (eg RWTH Aachen), is it advisable to have gotten another admission letter before the visa appointment date? (this is because the original admission letter used for the application would have expired before the visa appointment)

won’t the person be penalized at the embassy because it’s a different admission letter (even though it’s the same school, but a different admission letter date from the one used to originally apply for the visa application)

Bro Chill...relax. We understand your situation, I guess like you said,you just applied recently using the consular portal.

If your school doesn't defer,no need to Panic,just let the Admission go. The most important thing is that you have registered on the portal and are on the waiting list.

The Embassy is fully aware of the Waiting period,so nothing like penalizing cus obviously the Documents you uploaded would have expired as at when they will call you for an appointment. You just have to reapply to the University(Probably when you know your appointment date is getting closer)

The Embassy is still in 10th Dec 2023.
So chill,don't Panic. You can also source for Scholarships which will make the process faster for you.
