Ray Parlour's funny story about Kolo Toure’s trial at Arsenal in 2002 🤣 🗣️ "He came into training one day, what he used to do for trialists is set up games. Usually, if it was a centre forward he would put Martin Keown on him as he knew he would try and kick him and whatever, and if he could handle that he might be a decent player. This one day they had Kolo Toure, and Martin Keown was in his first first training session. Against them, they had Thierry Henry and Dennis Bergkamp. I rolled the ball into Thierry Henry and Kolo Toure from nowhere has smashed him from behind. Two-footed tackle. Terrible tackle. Seriously, could have been a red card in a normal game. Our best player is rolling around. Arsene Wenger says ‘Kolo, what are you doing? Don’t tackle, don’t tackle.’ He just wants him to stand there. ‘Oh, sorry, sorry’. The next minute ball goes into Dennis Bergkamp, they’ve swapped now. Kolo Toure does exactly the same and two-foot Dennis Bergkamp and we are thinking ‘This is unbelievable. How can we win the league if our two best players has been taken out by the trialist? He must be working for someone else’. Arsene Wenger says ‘Right no more tackling’. Next ball comes in and Kolo Toure makes a great tackle, reads it, and the ball is flipped up into the air. Arsene Wenger used to stand right in the middle of the midfield and forwards and he’d try and look at the movement, so the ball has gone up in the air and Kolo Toure has his eye on the ball - he’s chasing the ball - and where did it land? Right at Arsene Wenger’s foot and he’s two-footed Arsene Wenger. Proper tackle. All you heard was ‘ahhhh’. The lads are like ‘This is unbelievable. He’s took out Bergkamp, Henry, and Wenger on his trial. Wenger has had to limp off. He’s gone back to the medical room. Kolo Toure is like ‘Oh no’ and nearly crying. He can’t believe it. It’s his big day at Arsenal and he’s taken out two of our best players and the manager. That afternoon, I remember going into the medical room to see Gary Lewin about something and Arsene Wenger was sitting there with a big ice pack on his ankle. He said ‘I know he didn’t mean it, I like his desire. We’ll sign him tomorrow’ and that was it. We signed him for £150,000 because he liked his desire. He could get that out of him and change the way he played just by his desire kicking them two players and he ended up being an amazing player for Arsenal." |

Roland17:Orlando is not a small team ooo... They won the last Sheild with record number of games.... Like I said the last time I'll judge him when playoff arrives cos early fliers like San Diego ( Thorns and Pride are even struggling to make playoffs)... And again 2 points out of 18 is nothing in NWSL, there was a time Kansas have 0 in 9 ( with 2 home matches).... American league is not European leagues oooo If Jonas is a fraud, This Renée that keeps making baby mistakes mixed with favaritism might be a bigger fraud in times to come ( so much that Ian Wright called her out last week)... |

iamoyindamola:Less on the players more of Renée inadequacies and showing of favouritism... Poor game management from the Manager... Russo was very poor today yet she played 90mins doing nothing like last week, Mead also wasn't in the game yet played 80... Marionna and Kim lost the midfield and were tired from 55 mins yet she couldn't even subs them looking on as they get overwhelmed... Subbing Smith early ( same as last week) and not rating players like KCC was what Ian Wright called her out for last week... Very poor from the Manager, she really helped Villa game plan today |

MSGAMBLE9:Ian Wright calling her out has no binding consequence. She can't be a fraud when she excelled where the Bottler in Chief Jonas failed woefully. Her name is forever etched in the history of club as a whole, not just women's football. Numbers and facts don't lie. |

Roland17:🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 she feeds off Jonas grudges with players... As bad as Jonas is he never went trophyless with the team...The last two games comical errors proves it that they will even struggle to compete with City, Di Matteo also win UCL for Chelsea.... The League is good as gone already... Let see what she can do in UWCL and Cups NWSL no be wasa as Giraldez exploits there proves, no be 2 or 3 teams leagues... |

iamoyindamola:The truth is that from The Olympics last year to WSL, UWCL and Euro, Marionna is tired and keeps giving wrong pass since the 1st game of the season... She needs a breather, the midfield collapsed around 55 mins and all you could do as a Coach is watch your side get overrun and do nothing.... Russo was struggling today yet she played 90mins, Smith was still troubling them yet you removed her leaving Ineffective Mead on... Ian called her out for her treatment of some players this week... KCC was the best player in preseason yet to see a single minute this season Her favouritism irked me... Irrespective of Russo, Marionna performances ( I also fear for Fox been runned to the ground) they never get pulled off E tire me, we are too reliant on Marionna... The team is stressful to watch, they can't pass, can't control games, even Jonas press system she relied on last year is fleeting now |

I always dread any Arsenal game against Newcastle and it's not about results. Those guys are too rough. They play without compassion. Arsenal fan aside, I don't just like seeing players injured so when I see players deliberately kicking another player in an hostile manner, I somewhat get angry. Hopefully our players come out with a victory and unscathed today |

Joelinton just wan injure Saka. And why is the ref ignoring all the shirt pulls on Eze? Gabu was foolish for that push abeg. That's softer than the last one that gave Newcastle a win that year. Guy is rugged and should not be doing that abeg. Haba... That was a pk for Gyokores. Make they continue sha. We sha winning this one |
