The Trump plan looks somewhat different from what one might have assumed: it consists mainly of Hamas concessions delivered upfront, and Israeli promises deferred on credit. With all the caveats—because after all, this is the Middle East, and this is Trump—this is how the plan is described by diplomats to whom it was presented. Trump Plan Outline ISRAELI Concessions: • No territory will be ceded between Israel and Gaza • No assassinations of terrorists will be carried out in Qatar Hamas Concessions: • Release of all hostages on the first day • Dismantling of all “offensive weapons” For all Gazan civilians: • The right to leave Gaza will be granted – with a guarantee that they will be able to return safely • Gaza will be transformed into an international trade zone, with exemptions from customs duties • An international force will monitor every Israeli withdrawal, but subject ti very long negotiations • The Palestinian Authority will participate in the governing council – but only in the future, and only after reforms “to eliminate extremism” The last point is particularly significant, as it suggests that the Palestinian Authority will not be involved in Gaza in the foreseeable future—if at all. Pavel Durov on attempts by French special services to use Telegram to interfere in the 2024 presidential elections in Moldova. "About a year ago, when I was stuck in Paris, the French special services contacted me through an intermediary with a request to help the Moldovan government censor certain Telegram channels before the presidential elections in Moldova. After checking the channels marked by the French (and Moldovan) authorities, we identified several that clearly violated our rules and removed them. The intermediary then told me that in exchange for this cooperation, the French intelligence would "say good things about me" to the judge who issued the arrest warrant for me in August last year. This was unacceptable for several reasons. If the agency really contacted the judge — it meant an attempt to interfere in the judicial process. If not, and they only claimed to have done so, then they used my legal status in France to influence political events in Eastern Europe — a scheme we also observed in Romania. Shortly after that, the Telegram team received a second list of so-called "problematic" Moldovan channels. Unlike the first, almost all these channels were legitimate and fully complied with our rules. Their only commonality was that they expressed political positions unfavourable to the French and Moldovan governments. We refused to comply with this request. Telegram is committed to freedom of speech and will not remove content for political reasons. I will continue to expose every attempt to pressure Telegram to censor our platform. SOMETHING IS BREWING WITH IRAN Gathering OSINT just from the past 48 hours have brought me to the conclusion that something is about to happen with Iran. In recent hours, Netanyahu has said that we know where Iran is hiding its enriched uranium and that this information is being shared with the United States. This proves what I have argued all along: The claim that the enriched uranium was destroyed in the American strikes on its nuclear facilities was simply not true. Equally interesting is information now coming from Russian sources: Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov has been speaking endlessly about Iran in recent hours. He claims there is a real threat pointing to new attacks against Iran, and according to several “well-informed sources,” “they are even in discussions within the framework of operational plans.” I remind you that President Trump is set to meet with his top generals on Tuesday. Everyone is wondering about the purpose of this meeting, and all my instincts point toward Iran. The Russian news agency TASS reported, citing a Russian source, that they are warning of another strike against Iran’s nuclear program. All this comes after Russia declared it intends to invest $25 billion in building nuclear facilities in Iran. One of the more striking reports this evening is that the Russian transport giant Antonov 124 carried a fresh shipment of Yak-130 fighter jets to Iran. In Tehran today, the Speaker of Iran’s Shura Council announced that “important decisions for the people were made in today’s closed session of the Council, on Sunday.” I assume he was referring to Iran’s withdrawal from the nuclear treaty. If we connect all the dots, it seems that a war over Iran’s nuclear program is becoming a war against Russia and China as well, which greatly emboldens the ayatollahs’ regime in Iran. It is important to understand that after the 12-Day War, the Iranian regime “changed the software.” While the IRGC are not known for fixing their failures quickly, surprising them this time will be very difficult. And if I may speculate further: Judging by the pace of attempts by Iranian intelligence to recruit collaborators from inside Israel, it seems likely that this time they will try to spark some sort of event within Israel, whether political or security-related, in hopes of deterring another strike on their soil. The next round is at the doorstep, and it will be far more complex than people realize. We must be very cautious with the Iranian regime, whose survival is more important to it than anything else.
