The federal government cannot approve building plans for private individuals. If the Federal Government acquired the land then there must have been a purpose, if it no longer needs it for that purpose then it should return it. The Federal Government does not need approval for buildings belonging to it but cannot sell land to people and start issuing permits

E.g FG acquired land for agriculture no longer needs it and then sells it to individuals for building houses and goes on to approve plans

The FG does not have such power


This matter has been litigated in the Supreme Court when Tinubu was governor and Osinbajo Attorney General

My point is the government should not act like the people who built there are the only people at fault, the government itself is be blamed more going by anything and as such might even need to pay some form of compensation to every affected building owner....
