As much as I got some beef with the current state of Pengassan, Ndume's advice is a bad one.

Why will he dissolve the union? See you guys should tell Dangote to obey our labour laws. The man is not bigger than Nigeria. If not for corrupt Emefiele that gave him a whopping $20billion for the refinery, which sane CBN governor will do that
Dangote is trying to deliver petrol to any filling station free of charge that will reduce the price of cost too for Nigerians ..so how is he wrong .. Just tell me one way the PEngassan has been impactful to your life .. as you dey defend them so

What about you politicians that prioritize your own private interests over the interest of Nigerians? You are all the same.

That's extreme. Both are wrong. Dangote is in Nigeria and should not just wake up and fire people. The union should also know that there is limits

Does the president have the Power to dissolve an organization that posses no security risk to the people?
Won't that go against their constitutional right to association?

Most of the hotels and most of the real estate springing up on the island and across Nigerians are owned by the executives of this oil and gas unions.
All they do is party all night carry the best girls and embezzle Union funds that is all they do their eyes is on the golden eggs in dangote

PENGASSAN and it's affiliate have successfully wrecked and grounded the 4 Nigerian refineries and is looking for Dangote's refinery to wreck and ground so that they will keep on holding Nigerians at bay because of their selfish interests and to keep feeding fat from Nigerians.
How you guys reason is beyond comprehension. How did PENGASSAN grounded and made the refinery not functioning. Are they federal government? Are they they once providing funds for the rehabilitation of the refinery.
Re: Ndume To Tinubu: I Don't Mind If You Act Like A Dictator, Dissolve PENGASSAN by spiSeyi: 9:10am On Sep 30, 2025
Future impossible tense if PBAT tried this then Nigeria economy + Dangote refinery will be grounded within few weeks . The president should call the both parties to order and keep them check because even Dangote can't be trusted if we go back in history how he destroyed the cement industry and the rail cargo with Dangote trucks . Meanwhile, PENGASAN should leave Dangote and let him run his business as he pleases as long as he is operating within the PIA act. My only advice to PBAT is to support other investors to create room for competitive market in the oil sector just like OBJ did in the Telecom sector.

So that means they should allow Dangote to threat Nigeria workers the way he wants because he built the refinery as a private owner. Whether private or government they must be guided by the law of the land regarding engaging and disengaging workers. Apart from what Dangote is doing many workers are suffering in the hands of many employers without protection. Many a time people will work and employers will find reason not to pay you and to sack you. Some employers have become so notorious about such a behaviour. They were a time that my brother worked for a lady. Time to pay him she told him if she gave him employment letter.
You can easily take sides in this matter but since you are not working in that refinery you will be standing with Dangote but those who are working and suffering there will say otherwise.
Someone said did they force them to work. Sometimes I wonder how people reason.
Don't be childish in thinking.
Did the staff complain to you that they weren't paid there salaries and benefits as agreed in the offer letter? Those Union are just greedy and always want to hold there employers hostage if they refuse to there greedy demands. I will never agree to unionism when I finally get my own company. If you can't work with me without the Union then don't even come near my company for job

You have said the most sensible thing. This is the monopolistic tendencies of people from this region.

They want to use a low appreciated grab president to uplift a Northerner to have maximum control of resources not available in their region even if it is achieved through dictatorship.

Imagine if the refinery was built with loans by someone not from the North
Ndume has never worked against Air Peace.

The solution the president must adopt is to ensure a framework that will continuously archive healthy competition within the sector.

One entity cannot and should not be allowed to ultimately determine pricing, production or supply chain.

It will be to the benefit of Nigerians in the long-run.

Dangote must be handled with wisdom. His ultimate intent is dangerous.
Re: Ndume To Tinubu: I Don't Mind If You Act Like A Dictator, Dissolve PENGASSAN by hotseat: 9:15am On Sep 30, 2025
For the very first time, I align with Senator Ali Ndume for calling a spade by its name.

No union can be bigger than the country.

Unions are creations of the laws of Nigeria and not the unions that created Nigeria, for crying out loud.

This is one area that one finds military administrations attractive.

They would have summarily roundedup these so-called union leaders and having the unions proscribed.

They are more of a curse than a blessing to the well-being of Nigeria/Nigerians.

What manner of impunity!

Well, every dog has its day.

We will not allow PENGASSAN to destroy Dangote refinery just the way they destroyed NNPC refineries

Loosing ones job is painful but then this is a personal business and not government establishment who have to do everything to keep him in business therefore instead of the union trying to arm twist Dangote refinery, they should go into negotiating table with the assistant of fg with Dangote refinery.

unfortunately for this clown - Bola Tinubu has direct experience with fighting unions and has learnt that you cannot proscribe a union in a democracy

Meanwhile, with this issue between PENGASSAN and Dangote, it’s hard to know who to believe. Most of the people speaking either in support of one side or against the other don’t seem to be doing it in good faith or out of love for the country, but rather for selfish reasons.

Hmm. Ndume is a voice of the rich northern cabals that are fronting Dangote. He is also very unstable.

Tinubu needs to be careful with him. We have trade union act within the constitution.

How can one single individual acquire 4,000 trucks in this same Nigeria. I saw them with my eyes last two weeks.

Not Benz o, not brand new cars. When majority Nigerians cannot afford a brand new car currently.

I learnt his ultimate plan is to purchase 10,000 for fuel distribution. The Union saw what is coming.

This is just one of Dangote's several companies. So how mighty is this man. Don't tell me these funds came from just bank loans and business proceeds. Haba.
Lol. Which competition is he chasing our please?

I'm not defending PENGASSAN. But we can't look the other way simply because the person involved is dangote. I'm also in the oil business and I can tell you some good things Dangote refinery have done so far in the oil industry. One is even the disappearance of long queues at filling stations. But unionism again is what made many oil and gas workers "big boys" today.

Maybe without strong unions like PENGASSAN and NUPENG oil and gas workers will be paid peanuts like other industrial sectors. Even if you guys think these unions are bad but any oil worker knows that their good sides are more than the bad sides.

Both parties should sit down and find a common ground

So, to you now, the entire country and 220 million masses (of which you are one) should suffer just because Dangote employed less than 5,000 people, who are hell bent on shutting down the private refinery because they were sacked for not keeping to their terms of engagement.

The way you people reason sometimes is just awkward!

After all the rubbish u wrote up.Dangota is a man like u.All u can do if u are unhappy with his style of running his business is for u to create ur own business. Then employ people and do better than him.Why can't u build ur own business and tell all his workers to resign and u employ them

Look at this one o. So, your own grouse is because he's very rich? That is why you want him grounded at all cost!

Now I understand. It's actually getting clearer.
