Another reason may be because of the state they both came from.

Taye is from Oyo state (I'm guessing). Maybe Saheed is not.

So they decided to give it to the Son of the soil. But the organizers should have let him know what was expected.
They are both from Oyo State. More likely Taye Currency's son pulled some strings for his old man or that the organizers just miscalculated.

This is another angle to look at it. Son pulls strings for his P-man, baba decides to use the strings to strangle his own musical career unprovoked.

This is sad 😢

God knows the level of agony the fiancee she’s supposed to get married to in 2 months’ time will be going through now .
Fiancee abi parents wey raise her for years and she is a successful journalist
Shebi fiancee go marry another person later, parents nko? Who will replace their child

They would be thanking God for her life not knowing that armed robbers have another plan for her

I don’t know about the Kogi incident , but below is a video of one of the Kwara victim’s wife alleging it was Miyetti Allah that killed her husband .

The widow can be seen in the video cussing out the state government and DSS for not doing enough to protect their community . She claimed Miyetti Allah killed her husband along with other victims . She didn’t make mention of any illegal mining .

She alleged DSS took guns from local hunters(guns which they were using to protect themselves) and Miyetti Allah had guns which they used to perpetuate the act

Any govt that is keen to disarm the populace is very suspicious

Like I said criminals will always get guns. Those gun control laws are for law abiding citizens

Those villages if just a small percent of them have guns the marauders will think twice

Of course, the parents would be devastated.

I was only pointing out to the fact that she was supposed to get married in 2 months' time which means there's a man somewhere who had hoped and planned to spend the rest of his life with her and that hope has just been dashed!

I know someone personally who lost his wife during childbirth about 7 to 8 years ago. Their wedding ceremony was a classy one which pulled a whole lot of people in the financial services because both bride and group have worked in nice companies. That bros is yet to move on emotionally and maritally till now. The loss was so devastating for him that he's just dedicated himself to work, work and more work since then.

I don't think they would've stood any chance going by the guerilla tactics the criminals adopted. They sprang a surprise on them and took them out.

Look at that twitter link and scroll down. You will see how hopeless the people have bcome, they have fled their own villages to preserve their lives

It saddens me when you are in the situation where you are just waiting for your turn like chicken for Xmas

At all at all na him bad pass. The guerillas are not more than the villagers and they wont know the terrain like the villagers. The brazenness is because the bandits know they are just lame ducks sitting down waiting for their turns.
The woman said it clearly that they disarmed the local hunters which was what made it easier for the bandits. A bandits worst nightmare is an armed population

The stories under this thread are chilling.

Had an experience like two weeks ago where someone came to me in traffic and was begging/part threatening me for money, saying he was just coming from prison and he begs so he doesn't rob, and intermittently he took his hands towards the back of his pocket like he was reaching for a weapon...kuku gave him like 2K cash that was with me, he saw I had more, asked for more and I told him to ask the other guys in the traffic, say me sef don try.

Man was quite hefty and had those manual labour sort of body definition, was probably all begging, but he made clear demands. Na God dey help person for this Naija...someone on Twitter said they saw two dead bodies around Otedola bridge, victims of armed robbery.

Nigerian killings getting some global attention.
I whole heartedly welcome this. And any African who is busy screaming about Gaza should look at himself in the mirror,

Our African leaders where they are cleansing their country's went to UN and all they were singing is Gaza, Seems like they also concede that Gaza lives matter more than their peoples lives

Osupa is also from Ibadan. And very deep in song writing, Osupa is actually Ladojas preferred musician but Osupa has some issues with Makinde

You know governors fund all these coronation and they pick whoever they want

police and military personnels are seriously lacking in courage.

That VDM video where he and his convoy were running towards victims of highway kidnapping was a clear pointer to this, like they literally passed police personnels that were fully armed yet stood doing nothing, by the time VDM retruned to pick up a gun shot victim, the police officers he passed along the way had driven the other way, away from the scene of the kidnap.

Why do our agencies have to receive Orders to respond to a threat in their front?

I remember as a kid, we were traveling to Ibadan, and we experienced a robbery along Ibadan expressway. After the robbers finished and fled, some cars drove quickly to the next checkpoint to call the Police

Police said they don't have orders to leave there, and that they cannot leave oh.

Na so everybody count him loss and left. God being kind, nobody was shot at all. They only shot in the air to scare people from going after them, as they ran into the bush.

Makes sense

I also tend to believe that depending on the occasion, the organizers should let the musician know what song to sing.

If I invite 2 face to a State dinner to perform, I shouldn't expect him to sing "As I kolobi your sister"

Dem for educate Taye

Do you wind down while driving in Lagos ? Omo , I my window is always rolled up and I always central lock either in traffic or in motion .

I don’t give room for anybody to come close to the car and be taking to me about anything .

When I am in public bus I also don’t give attention to any beggar or tout that comes near the window o. It’s because of such experiences like urs above I dey always avoid engagement when I’m in public

They are not lacking in courage, All armed forces and law enforcement, you must always wait for orders. If they dont receive the orders and you engage. even if you save peoples lives, Na discipline you dey face and later turn to you offed innocent bandits without orders

You are already risking your life to engage bandeets, only for your superiors to throw you under the bus

You dont need to be Einstein to see that these activities get the backing of some people whether military brass, politicians or local chiefs

For every king, the commissioner for chieftain affairs have to approve, then state governor have to approve

I saw all the Rolls Royces they pulled to the event and you know say most likely na governor dey fund all the kings, dey pay them salary and can remove them
Traditional rulers are just dress up actors with no real powers.
