izzou:Must every work place have a union ? The only thing I know unions do in Nigeria is control pricing and armtwist employers . Where were the unions when Tinubu removed subsidy , them kept quiet because it favours them Now , someone is trying to terminate the oil cabals they are going on strike |

ayindejimmy:Joining Union is not by force. If they decide today they exit the Union. The next day Pengassan will stop the strike. Your own is to convince them to exit the Union (Pengassan) and form their own Dangote refineries own. |

izzou:Both the workers and the refinery ultimately serve one group: the end-users—the people. If the people don’t want any disruption in supply, who are the workers to complain? Between workers, investors, and the end-users, who is easier to replace? Resisting change only leads to being crushed. It’s better to embrace change first, then find ways to align your interests with those of the end-users and investors. If not, the door is always open. |

ayindejimmy:Yes, according to the Nigerian Labour Law. It stipulates that if a workplace has a particular number of staff, they MUST have a Union. Yes.. YES YESSSS.... Like, before you argue, just read first. Once again, Yes. |

P1PrinceKT:Imagine having equal votes with someone with this kind of thinking. Many Nigerians go to school but are uneducated. A workers union is meant to protect the rights of workers in the union and is recognized by our labor laws and not to build refineries. Nigerians are so used to being mistreated at work that they can't even phantom that they should have rights to fair treatment. |

izzou:I laugh at all of them talking against NUPENG and PENGASSAN. They are uninformed. Most of them are hawkers and road side kiosks owners who do not know what these unions stand for. |

izzou:You forget Pengassan are Nigerian 1st before association and incase you forget, Pengassan are under Labour Union whose primary concern are Nigerians ... tell me i am wrong naw ![]() Pengassan are Nigerian 1st meaning National interest above any member interest be it there wives ... sabotaging the economy is treasonable If Penegassan are reasonable what should be a priority is promoting conducive environment for more investor to come into than sector ... more employment more members and more flourish for the union But when you choke n suffocate dangote, which investor we come to a sector Union will be dictating or threaten to kill your business |

izzou:For a productive dialogue, it's important to fully read and comprehend the statements made by others, rather than resorting to insults. I'm aware of ASUU's full meaning, but my previous comment referred to their claims of protecting students. While the name of a union may hold significance, the claims they make regarding their actions are more important. ASUU, while fighting for their own interests, also professed to be advocating for students. It's essential to know that many unions may have ulterior motives despite their professed objectives. This understanding requires an open-minded and multi-perspective approach, rather than a myopic viewpoint. Don't be offended if I choose not to reply to your next quote. Engaging with a subjective individual like you may not yield a fruitful conversation. Nevertheless, I appreciate the time you have invested in this discussion. Peace! |

izzou:The preservation of Fundamental human right is even above the constitution and it ensures freedom of association. So you cant force union upons anybody - it's voluntary |

ayindejimmy: It's pointless engaging you on this discourse. You're right, my friend. Very right. I'm sure Dangote doesn't know this line. I hope he sees it, so he can show PENGASSAN and stop this drama. Take care! |

Anniwil:I believe around 1.41 billion liters were consumed in August—dividing that by 30 gives the average daily consumption. Honestly, unionizing and layoffs are just symptoms of a deeper issue neither side wants to address. We need to understand what Dangote risks if unions are allowed, and what unions stand to gain. All the talk about workers’ welfare seems like an afterthought. |

| Re: PENGASSAN And Dangote Reconciliation Meeting Ends In Deadlock by ayindejimmy(m): 1:37pm On Sep 30, 2025 |
izzou:Nigerian workers are not oblivious to the benefits of unions but the argument is that PENGASSAN is constituting a nuisance to a monumental investment meant to benefit Nigerians . Dangote is a big company that has various benefits for its workers. Whenever ASUU goes on strike do private universities follow suit? Are they not under ASUU. Dangote should as a matter of urgency encourage its workers to form their own private union in |

| Re: PENGASSAN And Dangote Reconciliation Meeting Ends In Deadlock by ayindejimmy(m): 1:41pm On Sep 30, 2025 |
izzou:. Why is PENGASSAN insisting there must be union at Dangote Refinery? |
| Re: PENGASSAN And Dangote Reconciliation Meeting Ends In Deadlock by ogascomax: 1:48pm On Sep 30, 2025 |
izzou:😂😂😂😂 The matter tire you too. I don't work for PENGASSAN or benefits anything from them. But those guys that think PENGASSAN is the foe between Dangote and PENGASSAN I wonder what level of ignorance can be displayed by them. Dangote is a business man and he is not helping me or us he is simply doing his business and if he is not checkmate he will enslave his workers all in the name of its my refinery that I can do anything I want. Where is that done in the world. Is he the first oil and gas company. Is Chevron, seplat, Mobil, total etc government owned. Don't they play by the rules. Why most only Dangote take his path. If all the rest companies decided to go solo then who will intervene for workers again? |
| Re: PENGASSAN And Dangote Reconciliation Meeting Ends In Deadlock by izzou(m): 1:53pm On Sep 30, 2025 |
ogascomax:My brother. Someone here said Dangote is fighting for his interest. Someone who is a businessman, who's primary goal is to minimize loss and maximize his profit, is fighting for your interest? ![]() Na why Politicians and everybody dey use us play. The simplest form of education, we refuse to have. If every company decides to be like Dangote, who will fight for the Workers interest? That's the question they can never answer. |

P1PrinceKT:They were sacked because they joined Pengassan which is an association if economic saboteurs and terrorists. They were forced and cajoled to join Pengassan which is against the law. Dangote cannot allow his refinery sabotaged like they did to government refineries. |
| Re: PENGASSAN And Dangote Reconciliation Meeting Ends In Deadlock by ogascomax: 1:54pm On Sep 30, 2025 |
Almunjid:When you guys always say PENGASSAN should build her own refinery I just wonder the level of ignorant people like you are. Is PENGASSAN not a combination of all the oil companies in Nigeria. NNPC, Shell, Chevron, Mobil, Total, NLNG etc. the staffs of all those companies made up PENGASSAN. Then which one is that they should build their own refinery. |

izzou:Thats not true. Private hospital workers and private universities workers don’t join unions. Allow Dangote to breath. Pengassan is a group of economic saboteurs and terrorists. |
