I know you are really provoked over this matter but honestly i'm not here to provoke anyone and for your information below is what the dictionary says about the word RAPTURE:

So you can see for yourself that it's those church people that fabricated this term and tied it to Jesus it's real meaning doesn't tally with Jesus' event of taking his friends to heaven.

First of all rapture has to do with sudden arrest, kidnapping or forceful taking away of someone that's why the English linked it to RAPE.

Secondly Jesus has prepared the minds of his disciples so they are expecting him unlike the rapture where those involved are caught unaware.

Lastly Jesus' friends knows where they are going and who is coming to take them but according to the Bible it's after they finished their earthly mission not while they are still alive so they have to die first before being transformed into spirits! 1Corinthans 15:44

So how is RAPTURE connected to such a happy home calling for Jesus' true friends? undecided

Are you joking right now?

You want to bring in the meaning of an English word which doesn't appear in any version of the Bible and to prove it's authenticity you are quoting theologians who tied the English word to the Bible.

Ọmọ is this a joke?

Google is telling you what theologians fabricated and gave it that name not the meaning of that word in English so if it doesn't appear in the Bible but theologians fabricated it how do you expect real Bible scholars to agree with them?🙂
The joke is on you who doesn't know that words are just used for communication. "Theologians coined the word", is that not what I've said from onset, and the purpose is to aid communication instead of having to explain an event? Are you changing what you asked for suddenly again?

Your first issue was what the word meant instead of the RAPE you people prefer and I showed you what google says and you now leave that to be concerned that it was Theologians that coined the word? You really like going in circles but will be the same person accusing someone else of what you do.

Your second issue was which Bible event is the word used to explain, and the same google search result shows you the event that they coined the word for and you now start going back to the word not being in the Bible. I should be asking you, are you for real?

Now your turn. Show where 1914 is in the Bible.

I know you are really provoked over this matter but honestly i'm not here to provoke anyone and for your information below is what the dictionary says about the word RAPTURE:
Even your carefully selected dictionary clearly indicates multiple meanings for the word, just like I said earlier that some words have multiple meanings. It so happens that most dictionaries even take the theological meaning as the most popular just like the Oxford dictionary does here.

But either out of ignorance of dictionary use or sheer mischief, you prefer to stick to RAPE while ignoring the theological meaning that is also there, then that is absolutely disgusting to see coming from someone who claims to be a Christian. On this particular occasion I'd deliberately decided to go the mile with you. You've been in the habit of using mischief to get away with arguments. Right from insults/abuse which usually made me back away in the past because as a believer it's not what I want to engage in. But this time around I decided to play your game with you till you began to be somewhat civilized a bit again. But you still keep beating about the bush, going in circles, and dodging what is clearly pointed out.

Following is the immediate result from Oxford. But it appears you guys also have a preferred dictionary that emphasises the RAPE that you like. But unfortunately, they can't help but still include the theological meaning. So if someone communicates in biblical context about the world rapture, instead of you to follow the theological meaning which is what he is implying, you prefer to take RAPE. Is that how you guys are taught to interpret English or Dictionaries in JW?

That said. Show where you get 1914 from the Bible.

Thanks for this!

So say it's religionists (theologians) who fabricated that term and tied it to Jesus not that it's found in the Bible.

It's real meaning defamed Jesus' mission!

Dictionary shows the real meaning and what religionists tied to it so since it's not found in the Bible those religionists have to explain how it's connected to God's word! smiley

Wait a minute. Even your own JW prefered dictionary marks the RAPE meaning for rapture as being obsolete. No wonder oxford and many others don't have that meaning anymore. Yet you prefer RAPE as the meaning. This is very sick.

Jeez.

The dictionary has told you that it's not a palatable word for right thinking people because it's forceful taking away or robbing someone but since religionists now agree to use it for Jesus the dictionary is telling you what the churches has turned the word to but originally it means something really really bad! smiley

Whether they like it or not the truth must be revealed.

RAPTURE is not connected to God's word! smiley
