chidiokay:You write a long epistle without making any sense at all. Is Nigeria not meeting its OPEC qouta? If for any reason it droy...it has external factors infringe on the smooth processes of these facilities. It could be bunkering in the creeks or unscrupulous government officials trying to shortchange the nation |

Feelsgood:Who serves as your benchmark, then? Nigeria's oil industry, including its companies and workers, is highly politicized. In such a complex environment, who is better equipped to decipher potential treachery than a politician? By the way, I made this comment before seeing Ndume's statement, simply trying to remind you and others that not everyone who claims to be protecting you genuinely cares. Peace! |

Almunjid:The same goes to Dangote too. He should build his own exploration and production plant that isn't unionized. It's that simple... right? |

P1PrinceKT:BS..even in banks and some blue chips companies ones you join a Union your as told to go..where you are very free to do your union thing is government work places or PLCs that's public quoted company..if Dongote refinary goes down today it's on Dangote head not the union executive..they should go and strike at the moribund refineries..now they have become a security threat to the Nation ..it needs to be proscribed...there is other laws protecting Nigerian workers ..not this leech's..the one I hate most is Nurtw... nonsense union . |

lionshare:Dangote refinery remains shut as talks are ongoing. Did you see Pengassan listen to restraining order given on the pages of social media. No court bailiff could even serve that piece of document to Pengassan. Pathetic folks defending an unfair businessman |

If the FG allow this PENGASSAN get away with this acrocities, that means they can't really read between the lines . It's the issue more than these Dangote Refinery staff that were sacked ? Why are other companies joining an internal raggling? Now NLC too is joining to cripple the whole economy and the FG has not called the DSS to pick up their excos for sabotaging the nation's economy. But if someone calls Tinubu out now , theyll jump and stick on the person like white on rice . These same set of union have always complained about this same Refinery claiming it's selling substandard fuel and what have you . And now theyve found an excuse. I've never seen where private company staff involved themselves with strike actions . We've seen ASUU and doctors go on strike but their private counterparts don't join them . Why is this any different? |

Feelsgood:I don't understand your thought process, but you really need to improve. I mentioned that Nigeria's oil industry, including its companies and workers, is highly politicized. You asked if a politician serves as my benchmark, to which I retort: who is your benchmark, then? You suggested technocrats, but can they effectively navigate the politics in our oil industry? Dangote understands these dynamics and is engaging with them accordingly. If you don't comprehend what's happening, it's better to read and move on instead of engaging in discussions without adequate knowledge. By the way, I dislike conversing with immature individuals who quickly resort to insults when encountering differing opinions. Nonetheless, I appreciate your time. Shalom! |

xxxx999jon:While I don’t know much about the banks and all,I can say that maybe because of the scale of investments in the O&G sector, most players would like to play by the rules and carry stakeholders (unions, govt agencies, communities,NGO’s etc) along in the entire processes. Am not sure Dangote alone is gonna bear the brunt as am sure govt has a % stake, though small. For moribund refineries,it’s on record that successive presidents of PENGASSAN from Babatunde Ogun to Esele to Late FO Johnson have always advocated the privatization of the old refineries, the only thing they did not do was to shutdown the country for that.Infaact lately, strong advocacy to restructure the refineries to the same NLNG partnership model has been made, but the bulk is at the President’s table. About being a security threat ,hmmm, what I fear most is a private individual in full control of a segment of energy sector especiallly if he’s not the Government:this is a personal view and not PENGASSAN or NUPENG position. In any case, the issue here is the sack of at least 800 Nigerians due to them joining an Association, the real security threats are the bandits, armed robbers ,kidnappers whose robbery activities led to the loss of a promising Nigerian - Arise TV reporter - Maduagwu If private corporations that have benefited from Nigeria keeps sacking 800 workers every week,I assure you many more deaths like maduagwu’s will occur - that is the real security threat and not PENGASSAN asking for recall of its sacked members |

Almunjid:So if you think that way...why complain about Pengassan's actions towards Dangote? Everyone wants to be mad at the same time. Let's all enjoy the madness. No wahala |

P1PrinceKT:Stop justifying impunity . The workers joint the union without the approval of their employers and you expect Dangote to sit down dey look them with honey face. Where and Who are the workers without their employer? You are here proving unnecessary sentimental claims in support of the useless workers that can't do anything than to rely on what the company bring to their table monthly. If you establish your own company allow unionsim to control your workers and see what will be the history of your company. |
| Re: PENGASSAN And Dangote Reconciliation Meeting Ends In Deadlock by P1PrinceKT(m): 5:56pm On Sep 30, 2025 |
adekolaelect:If they joined without his approval then he also doesn't have the power to sack them based on that. He should have seek redress in court. Sacking them because of that is violating the rule of law. |
| Re: PENGASSAN And Dangote Reconciliation Meeting Ends In Deadlock by P1PrinceKT(m): 5:57pm On Sep 30, 2025 |
xxxx999jon:This is your opinion or what is happening on ground. Not what rule of law says... So if I sue you to court based on that, the law will definitely favor me |
| Re: PENGASSAN And Dangote Reconciliation Meeting Ends In Deadlock by adekolaelect(m): 6:13pm On Sep 30, 2025 |
P1PrinceKT:Can you see how you sound " The employers don't have power to sack or Transfer her workers when there is need ? The employer should go to court of law before taking decisions on the workers She Employed ? Oga you no try at all . Oga you can't Treat private sectors the way of the government entities . Your opinions is the reason NNPC Revinaries, Stell mills and other government entities are not productive in Nigeria . |

P1PrinceKT:if your employer do not want you to join a union you can resign and join the union of your choice, then ask the union to give you a job. |

| Re: PENGASSAN And Dangote Reconciliation Meeting Ends In Deadlock by P1PrinceKT(m): 6:43pm On Sep 30, 2025 |
adekolaelect:The law prohibits sacking an employee because he join a Union, it's as simple as that. However, for your more understanding, you can read section 40 of the Nigeria Constitution and Labor act 2004 before you give your opinion on the matter. |
| Re: PENGASSAN And Dangote Reconciliation Meeting Ends In Deadlock by Hedonisco: 6:47pm On Sep 30, 2025 |
P1PrinceKT:If workers have a right to join any Union of their choice, private businesses like Dangote also have the right to hire, fire replace and substitute any workers with any employees of their choice. This should be common sense. Stop feeling so entitled with another man's business. |
| Re: PENGASSAN And Dangote Reconciliation Meeting Ends In Deadlock by P1PrinceKT(m): 6:53pm On Sep 30, 2025 |
Hedonisco:Where you missed it is, They(private companies) can fire not because their employees joined a Union. It you do this you break the law. |

Minjim:He dabbled into politics and got corrupted. But doesn't mean he wasn't good in his profession. How did he manage to excel in his career before joining the government. Wasn't Soludo a sound technocrat before politics happened to him? I pray Femi Adeosun won't dine with these unscrupulous politicians in government. |

Lots of ignorant peeps on here. Any company who is against the workers joining union does not have the interest of the workers at heart and wants to exploit them. It's as simple as that. By experience we know this. Also you cannot sack a worker for joining a union, they can decide not to join but if they join they must not be punished for it. Of course Dangote no go gree, pengassan too no go gree they will tell him who do you think you are? Na you first waka come, other international companies dey before you and they respect themselves and the law of the land so who are you again sir? |

| Re: PENGASSAN And Dangote Reconciliation Meeting Ends In Deadlock by xxxx999jon: 2:25pm On Oct 02, 2025 |
Anniwil:security threat comes in different shapes and forms ,biko Haram or bandits are not the only security threats, cyber attacks are security threats, economic sabotage are security threats..which is what this union just did.PENGASSAN cannot force the country to it's knees when the industrial court is there for the sacked workers to seek redress..it's totally wrong .yes there is freedom of association and the company did not state it's sacking because staff joined union..heck the company even said some union members are still with the company..it's a Private firm..as the owner I can sack anyone just by not liking your face alone no law against that..the fair of one man monopoly does not arise here.. Dangote does not have oil wells to serve his refinery,BuA is coming up with his own refinery,NNPLc has 3 let them make those one work,A man usee all his assets as a collateral to get loan from bank set up the business, now it's working and you saying you afraid of monopoly?let someone else go get it and let's see if there is any form of pre-intimacy..for now the union can't dictate to Dangote refinery..there are labor laws already in place to take care of Nigerian workers be it in private or government plus it's not by force to work there ..as you have freedom of association, you also have freedom not to work there ..it's not slavery.allow person who does not want to join union to apply and work there ..let's have peace. |
