NAFDAC Bans lumefantrine, 100 Other Pharmaceutical Products by HonNL(op): 7:19pm On Sep 30, 2025
This is to inform the General Public that the following products are approved for withdrawal, suspension and cancellation by NAFDAC. They are therefore no longer permitted for manufacture, importation, exportation, distribution, advertisement, sale and use within Nigeria. Please note that:

1. The Certificate of Registration of a product is said to be withdrawn when the use of the Certificate of Registration of that product is discontinued upon request of the Market Authorization Holder.

2. The Certificate of Registration of a product may be suspended when the conditions upon which the NAFDAC Registration license was issued are no longer met and the Agency is to make a determination.

3. The Certificate of Registration of a product is said to be cancelled when the NAFDAC Certificate of Registration license of that product is revoked by NAFDAC.

Re: NAFDAC Bans lumefantrine, 100 Other Pharmaceutical Products by Dozis: 8:00pm On Sep 30, 2025
Misleading and sensational,
I will be back to elucidate

Look at number 5 very well, a particular brand of artemether and Lumefantrine by Healthline has been voluntarily withdrawn from the Nigerian market.
There is no ban on Lumefantrine.
This article is misleading

Re: NAFDAC Bans lumefantrine, 100 Other Pharmaceutical Products by FarahAideed: 8:00pm On Sep 30, 2025

What do you want Igbo people to do? This medicine were approved by nafdac for years. An ugo man doing phamarceutical business have imported lots of these and suddenly they are banned but you still want to blame the Igbo man who is probably suffering and loosing a lot of millions as a result.

So what alternative drugs are left to fight malaria since chloroquine is not compatible with everyone?
Re: NAFDAC Bans lumefantrine, 100 Other Pharmaceutical Products by Franklyspeakin: 8:21pm On Sep 30, 2025
From this list, the drugs where not withdrawn for default in efficacy. That is, the drugs don't have any negative effect. But for personal reasons known by NAFDAC which could be as simple as failing to pay a registration fee..

It is Sanofi and Healthline that wish to discontinue the production/circulation of the listed products. It is not as a result of any infringement - WITHDRAWN VOLUNTARILY BY MARKET AUTHORIZATION HOLDER.
