All I see here is lack of proper parental care from those boy's parent. Bible says " Train up your child in the way of the LORD and when he grows, he will not depart from it"

Two brothers 10 and 17yrs old used an “Ashawo” key to break into their downstairs neighbor’s palor through the balcony, thinking she was asleep.

When her husband got home, they involved soldiers and after a little retouching of the boys, they apologized and confessed that one “Brother” promised them ₦50k if they could bring him a live baby.

The conclusion of the matter is these criminal children are their father's blood. Crime is in their blood and consistent re-orientation to change their mindset is the key to save them from further crime if they are released from police custody

Why must the mother have remorse? what did she do? Why the husband got a lawyer? .. shouldn't the Police move in and arrest the 17 year old and the "brother"...charge them and throw them in jail? The husband should be speaking to the soldiers ...praising them for the wonderful "touch up' job they are doing and encourage them to do so more often and with more intensity. They need to find out if it's the first time ...I doubt it.

The mother of the baby has PCOS....

Women with PCOS...it is very very difficult for them to conceive. That's why she feels no remorse in having the boys severely mistreated....you want to kidnap the child she literally sweated and probably spent a fortune seeing gynaecologists to get?

This is so unfortunate!

FTC on a day like this!

I shared the story of how bad leadership has ruined my country with my colleagues here during lunchtime.

What keeps coming up in my mind is DIVIDING NIGERIA!

There is so much hatred across regions, or is it just on social media?

What do we actually benefit from being together as one country?

We deserve something better!!!
Don't digress.

Talk about your blothers that are doing crimes daily

The mother needs not have any remorse...especially since she struggled with polycystic ovarian syndrome in the past...and women who have that condition...it is not that they can't concieve, but it is very very hard.

And someone wants to steal the child she and her husband sweated to get?

The 17 year old and the person wey send am....they don enter one chance.

When did these ones begin to refer to "duplicate keys" as "Ashewo" keys? It absolutely makes no sense especially when you consider it's real Yoruba meaning or etymology.

Second, the FB post didn't say if these two highly IRRESPONSIBLE boys arrested in Enugu are part of a baby factory syndicate. Aside from kidnappings of babies and little children for ransom payments, these babies are also used as part of those insidious South East of Nigeria baby factory syndicates who have been arrested by Police investigators from time to time over the years based off of several media reports.

No doubt. With all they went through to get the child ... it is an insult to even think they should even consider forgiveness. The husband must be a very patient man to not go and do some damage to the two beasts.

No picture of the “brother?” Apart from the ten year old and mother, all other parties should face full justice. If the operation was successful, they would’ve psychologically scarred an innocent woman. I pray her heart remains cold on the matter. Let the community members beg until they lose hope.

I'm not surprised one bit. And a lot more of similar incidents should be expected over time.

I've always respected Igbos for their resilience, creativity, and business acumen. That traditional business mentorship strategy that involves sending an Igbo boy to Lagos to work with an established boss who in turn establishes him after some years is one of the most effective business schooling systems I've ever known of.

But the problem now is, most Igbo youths of today want to be like the Igbo big men who went through that system BUT are not ready to go through the system themselves. Many of them now prefer to waste their time on social media and argue over frivolous topics. And when the issue of making money comes up, they start chasing shadows and want the easier way out -- not the system that has worked for successful Igbos for years.
Why not send him to Abuja or Sokoto or Benue? Why Lagos, why the very place hostile to igbo business? Or it's written somewhere in Igbo DNA, only Lagos can make y'all successful?
You lot better start changing the destination to send those boys for apprenticeship, preferably a non SW city for starters.

That apprentiship system you are referencing above has long been compromised by the incidious actions of some so-called masters who find ways of NOT paying their "nwa boys" what is due to them after serving for 6 to 7 years by framing them up for crimes, and even the actions of some of the greedy "nwa boys" who under-report items sold daily with fake invoices or who outrightly steal stocks of items from the stores of their masters as revealed in several media interviews on this trading apprenticeship thing that I've listened to and read about over the years.

It's a dog-eat-dog situation out there and there have been many calls for reforming that apprentiship thing by the Ibos themselves to prevent all kinds of abuse. Some victims narratted how this cheating of "nwa boys" by so-called masters started as far back as the 1980s with one of those interviewed identifying himself as a victim back in the 1980s, so, this "cheating thing" is NOT a new thing among them.

a much harder truth is that there is an army of disenfranchised ibo youths and men who are missing out and this has been the case for a very long time

all you need to do is look at the pattern

today they have joined the ranks of ESN and unknown gunmen
a few years ago -m they were kidnappers and it was so bad people did not travel to the east for xmas
before that it was osisikanu and his robbery gangs
in the 90s it was armed robberies that led to formation of the baklssi boys

there has always been a crime problem in the east that manifests in different forms but comes backl to the fact that too many young men in the east do not have a viable financial future

After they were worked on a little.

Meaning that everything else they said was out of duress.
You're right that everything they said was under "duress", before that, they broke in under "duress"! Went for a baby under "duress" too!
