Back to my journey biko. We were going through some python labs in Aws cloud 9and currently in Database setup and admin . I really need to save some of this labs in my Github for perusing later. You won’t find them easily outside and they’re very practical stuff you will run into later.

Still running gen because transformer has spoiled for like 3 months now and people are tired of paying every year, guess what, they came to steal the transformer cable. Lol. I’m sure a nepa insider did it. Not even fazed.

Laptop is down by one battery, Internal battery swelled up, means I’m down to like 6hours. Even the external has lost 20% capacity. Lenovo think pads are tough men. I went to check some details online and this particular laptop has been in use for years and still solid. Can’t even mention the age.

Anyways, I’m checking both battery prices on jiji and seeing 40-45k each. Great!

Time to get another portable and bigger powerbank. I’m prepared this time, unlike when I was learning UIUX.

I'm inspired reading your tech journey. For 10 years I've been planning to learn tech but never found the time to actually start it. Would you recommend starting with the basics like HTML,CSS or I go straight to Python, then move to cloud computing and AI? Would appreciate your advice. Thank you .

Start with linux. Learning HTML etc is to get you familiar with programming languages, and you can substitute with python when you get to that level.

Check out devops on roadmap . sh also.

How come I did not see C programming language in your journey. If you are into devops and Linux environment, C is vital.

If you have just a system and don't want to dual boot between OS, WSL is a must.
Oga C is not vital
Non be only how come I didn't see C

Lazy Saturday. I need to catch up on my labs and some courses.

I didn’t like the database labs. Is that how people manage databases, raw in the CLI? No way am I doing that unless I’m paid better money. Once I set it up, we’re good. Find someone else to manipulate shait in the db.

Let’s talk about free things and shortcuts. Nigerians love both ! Which is not a bad thing.

But have you asked yourself, do I have the necessary mental fortitude, patience and personality to follow this through? If I decide to learn to press keyboard now, You think I won’t cash out massively? I will because I’m always looking for and learning updates.

Another person will follow the same steps and still fail or underperform.

Lesson? Even if them show you sure way and you lack some basic things in your personality. You will still fail. No be by bathing soap.

Hi. What was your final decision, I'm looking at t480 or t470 too for a new PC with double batteries. But can't seem to find a genuine seller.

SKhanmi:
I made 20k in my first month on surveys. Check the second month. Last pic is my withdrawal for this week and I still feel like I’m really playing. This is peanuts to what I know can be made if i faced it like a business. My attention is divided among like 5things currently though.

During my domaining days. I kept wasting money until I went back and patiently listened to iyke advice again and made my first sale.

What’s the common theme in this stories? Figure it out.

Anyone who read this thread will already have a general idea of the kind of person I am but let me add some personal insights.

- Imagine I have 3 groups where i make money from have 999+ messages each, The one on TG has 12k+ messages. I will calm down and read through every single one each so I don’t miss updates and important messages.

- I even digged through the posts on the TG group from the day it was created. Checked the media and took notes

- Took the insights I got and put them somewhere. Then started checking reviews, feasibility etc online

Lastly - I test and test and test. Oh this guy made 1m from AF marketing, Do i get jealous? absolutely not, If he can do it, Means I also can despite my current poor results or naysayers. I just need to keep making adjustments to my plans and make moves.

Does this sound like you? No way you won’t succeed.

Does not? Lol. And you think you will get the same results?

At the end , Working smart will always surpass working hard.
I want to ask if you've ever tried forex, as a side hustle or why aren't you looking at it? And if you read through 12k messages, what time will you have to even do other things. I do this in the past with analysis and taking my time to get to know something deeply, but it ended up feeling like a waste of time because i spend more time researching than doing the actual work which is not efficient.

I prefer to learn along the way with mistakes this days, though mistake has been costly, sometimes too costly. But it does get me working more rather than spending lots of needless time on research, and analysis. Just my own thoughts.

Back to my labs.

I’m starting to understand why it’s easy to learn and use the console for small tasks and personal projects but as you start to scale up, Iac becomes necessary.

I’m still going to ask our instructor though. I know you don’t need to memorise terraform, does the same applies to AWS CLI commands like this? I can’t imagine having to type that out offhand like a psychopath. Unless it’s something you’ve done a thousand times.

Even at that, I’ll rather look it all up, create a template and apply. Abeg

I did. To me it seems like a calculated method of informed gambling. Or maybe I just don’t know enough.

And the number of people who claimed to have made it from that is very small compared to the loosers. So no. I no dey near am.

As for time. I sometimes dedicate a weekend to just reading messages. If not for my business, I won’t have any social media unfrozen on my phones. I don’t remember the last time I watched TV. It’s career, business, exercise ,family and nothing else. I do take like 2months off when I destress if e don hook me but the point is, we would find time if something works for us.

That’s why it’s important not to get stuck in research. Once I get all the insights I starred in the groups for that week. I put it in a note somewhere and set reminders to work on it next asap.

I’ve tried the jumping in straight strategy and it can be costly as you said. But it’s still good if you at least go in with some solid information. There’s a difference

Omo. That's above 350k, how much did you get yours? What's the backup like? How many hours when fully charged?

AltSchool is winding up. I need to watch the remaining classes.

This AWS restart program is also winding up in 2 weeks. Time to prepare to re certify my AWS practitioner and write the Solutions architect exam.

Been busying practicing and saving the labs somewhere. They are getting longer and harder. Learnt about
-- blue/green deployments
-- lambda
-- AWS step functions
-- Amazon Route 53 failover routing
-- Migrating to an RDS database

The last 2 were quite interesting seeing how you could switch traffic to a new endpoint and reroute to a new database without any downtime.
And for lambda, I learnt how to import code, use layers with a deeper understanding than last time. SNS and monitoring aspect is easy.

Still, running the commands in the CLI is faster but confusing if you're a first timer but it forces you to understand. I literally used the iac codes given by AI for a lab to reverse create its alternate using the AWS console.

Then networking is one aspect you need to really wrap your head around. This labs sometimes have corrupted keys and you have to find a way to sort it out. Especially when you need to ssh into a server and are restricted from using instance connect etc

One yeye lab showed me shege!
I used PuTTY with a .ppk file,
I tried connecting with the .pem key via SSH,
I even used EC2 Instance Connect, AWS CLI, and AWS SSO,

Security groups and ports were all properly configured (so no network issues),This thing no gree me access. All required rules were met and ports open before we finally found out the lab keypair was corrupted.

So one had to edit it manually, put the right details in and convert it from pem to pkg before it worked.

I also remembered running into AWS CLI authentication problems before this program. Access key and secret key was correct but this thing was still telling me session is not something something. Had to commit this 2 commands to head by force.

aws sts get-caller-identity
aws configure set aws_session_token

funny enough, You hardly forget frustrating moments like this, unlike the labs you just zoom through.

Have you explored using a command line AI agent to manage your cloud services? I bet it will be sweet, from my experience with servers.

Not yet, Will get round to it. Gemini and warp looks easy to start with.

Amazon Q is not fully there for now
