Unilag will be testing all Postgraduate applicants on the following:
1. Critical Thinking Skills

· 2. Emotional Intelligence

· 3. Logical Reasoning

· 4. Verbal Reasoning

· 5. Communication skills and digital competence

· 6. Research aptitude

· 7. Problem solving and creativity.

You can agree that this year's screening differs entirely from previous years.

The exam is set to be conducted starting from mid October. You are expected to prepare yourself in seven(7) areas of the proctored test.

Here are simple ways you can start your preparation without going about looking for ready made past questions:

1) Use AI to scrap for GMAT standard that addresses each topic. You can extend your prompt to reference PDFs, YouTube that could help you prepare for this within 4 weeks.

Example ( Hey, I am preparing for an entrance exam with GMAT standard in the following areas xxxxxx. I have just four weeks and I need you to write a comprehensive but easy to follow plans, materials, websites or YouTube sites that can grant me an average of 755 scores. I am a 9-5 employee so I probably may have between 2-3 hours daily to practice)

2) If you are a quicky pecky type that doesn't like studying longer hours, just type GMAT on TikTok reels Facebook Reels, Instagram Reels, YouTube reels. These helps to cut out long boring contents and you can ace about 100 questions including explanations in fraction of hours it would take to do an extended study.

3) You can join a study group. It's always interesting when you study with others who are also towing the same path with you. Imagine this year's screening, it has no past questions and I can confirm to you that if this modality goes well, UNILAG may stick to it for longer years. So why not look around for those who apply just like you, solve these seven(7) key areas together.

We will keep watching out for ourselves until we all succeed.

Here’s how your cumulative admission score will be calculated based on previous years

Entrance Exam: 70 marks

Class of Degree: 20 marks

First Class – 20 marks

Second Class Upper – 15 marks

Second Class Lower – 10 marks

Third Class – 5 marks


Relevant Professional Certificate/work experience: 10 marks
(For example, applying for Accounting with ICAN is an added advantage.)


🔑 Important Note:
Your exam score carries the highest weight. Even if you have a Third Class, scoring 55–60% and above in the exam can still secure you admission. That’s why I keep emphasizing the need to prepare well and focus your efforts on acing the entrance exam.
