I can’t really blame the phone. Someone knocked it off my hands and the inner screen had an issue. When that was fixed, the outer screen then developed an issue. I just folded the phone and kept away and went to get an IPhone. I have always used Samsung for as far as I can remember. Even my Galaxy Note 20 Ultra also developed green lines in the middle that eventually blurred the entire screen and I fixed it with about 320k. For now let me use iPhone for a change.

It wasn’t just Samsung—my Tecno Spark 40 Pro Plus also gave me issues. I was playing Efootball 2026 when suddenly the buttons froze. I quickly exited the game, but a few minutes later, the screen started flickering—going off and on. I could only hear the audio, but nothing was displaying. I rushed back to the store where I bought it, and they directed me to Carlcare. Surprisingly, as soon as I stepped into the building, the phone returned to normal. They reassured me that if it happens again, I can bring it back for a replacement, as long as no technician has tampered with it. Since then, I’ve stopped playing games. After seeing this post, I realized the issue was most likely caused by overheating.

The 23 upwards don't have the issue although the 24 ultra can loose its anti reflective coating assuming you do not use screen guard and always cleaning the bare screen but it just some people that noticed it and its not common

If your phone is bad, go and fix it and don't make it look like it's a general problem.

No mind them. I've been switching one Samsung phone for another and never had this experience.

I'm thinking of getting the s23 or Google pixel when I'm ready to change even though Xaiomi is 11 ultra is attracting me.

I do not think that's the case. Most people don't switch their phones off manually. I am a heavy user of Samsung devices - multiple Note series plus my tablets and Laptop, which are all AMOLED. None have had this issue. All my devices come straight from Samsung, which shouldn't really matter if you deh outside Naija.

I think the issue lies in thr refurbished devices that do get to Naija and subsequent use.

there is a point you get so used to samsung that you will find it very difficult to cope with many other devices. I sometimes use my samsung phone for months without putting it off for a day, and i don't get to bother about how many apps left on.

the truth is, you have to be mindful of your chipset as much as you are worried about phone overheating especially if you live in an area with poor network reception. This same poor network also have effect on you battery health as consequence of hotness. snapdragon 650 upwards is the jerk if you consider poor reception where you live without it posing strong effect on your battery health and tremendous hotness..
