Hi guys, my Xiaomi Poco X3 NFC phone was stolen while i was robbed, is there any possibility for the phone to be tracked.
Your candid opinion is needed pls.

Instead of me to go to the police station, I'd rather use the money for another thing. I've reported to the nearest station, the IPO asked me to pay #5k to document my report, I told him that i came to report that thieves robbed me with all my valuables gone including my wallets and the cash inside. I just told him I'm coming i wanted to retrieve my SIM cards. That's where i end it.

If your Mi Account is active on the phone, you can LOCK it remotely. And have it display a customised message that it was STOLEN.

Furthermore, Mi Account can be used to TRACK the phone.

Look into that.

The MI account was removed by me, I was planning buying another phone before i was robbed. But i have the IMEI number.

Abeg, don’t be desperate to retrieve something you can easily buy again. My advice is to let it go.

I wonder why many people buy Xiaomi devices and refuse to the the simplest action to avoid it getting stolen.

Hi guys, I'm bringing this to the notice of nairaland members to beware of these phone numbers while transacting with anyone online. (0916 134 4876, 0 815 465 4120) . The random guy contacted me about the loose of my phone and offering himself as an anonymous hacker, he said he saw my writeup on nairaland seeking for someone that knows how to track a stolen or lost phones, he said he can do it and ask me to pay #25k in which he still offered me a discount for the service, but i was skeptical and decided to play along. Inbetween our discussions I priced down to #20k and he said the last he can do it is #20k. I concluded with him to pay a part payment of #10k and when do job is done I'll balance the payments. But when i searched his number through true caller, to my suprise what is saw was nairaland petty thief.

I'd advise you let it go shaa, cause from what I know, the main people that can help you track it down are the police, but with them it's 50/50 (I mean there's a 50% probability they might get to work, and if they do, you'll definitely get it back but if they don't you'll just be another cash cow)
