The company they are contracted to are usually owned by the bank management or relatives. Zenith bank uses a company to hire contract staff. The company is owned by the owners wife and managed by their daughter

I doubt this figure.
It's definitely over 55%.
Someone isn't telling the truth.

Especially in Branch Operations, your can have 6 core staff, while the over 15 others working as contract staff, I am not even counting drivers, security, cleaners, sales markerters, only transaction operations workers.

And it's a very very dirty business by the bank directors/top management. Through indirect ownership of recruitment firms, they eat 35% of the income due to this hardworking staff. AND some of this contract staff have more experience and efficiency than few of the core staff. They even help train new core staff in some cases. Imagine training your own boss!.
They are just unfortunate to be employed and trapped(for years with no benefits, pension, insurance, no promotion, etc) with lesser qualifications like OND.
As an insider, I would say above 70%.

What the government needs to do is to make sure nobody is employed without paying PAYE and being on the pension scheme. Nobody should be paid wages without those two things. At least if you work for a while you will have something saved as pension
The contract bank staff have this.

Once you are paid above the minimum wage and you have pension then you continue working until you have a better offer, are promoted and etc. In the UK most people are not paid much higher than the minimum wage. If minimum wage not high enough or not enforced that is the fault of government
